Not even close to what I said. They've blown it, they are done. They had a chance to have a great year and have absolutely imploded. That was never the case after 92. So you would rather be in last place and play for nothing than be in first place and go through a tough patch? Not even close to what I said. They've blown it, they are done. Watched all those 90s teams. They were never playing for anything. This is much, much worse.

People blaming Roenicke, I get it. But this team is entirely useless right now when it comes to playing 9 innings. There is not a move he can trust will work.

I do get it, except I just get angry and then stop investing the time. Nothing feels more wasteful than 3 hours watching a team that looks incapable of winning. That's what this has been like for the slide. Not just losing, but looking like they don't know how to win.

Yep. My brother got big into the Brewers this year for the first time in a while and called all excited at some point in May. I just said, well, wait and see. I was hoping it was real that they could dominate, but a close race is much more realistic. If they can turn it around quick, it's far from over. But, it is less fun to watch.

And Smith does appear to be pretty much cooked. He was over performing early on, so it's not much of a surprise. Still stings.

The Brewers are in a Top Gun like flat spin. Nothing Roenicke can do about it in my opinion. Garza is the only bright spot for the last 10 days or so, so he stuck with him. Yeah, probably shouldn't have pitched to Rollins, but Utley's been killing them this series and is the best hitter on the team. Nothing but bad options when a team is playing this poorly.

On the plus side, they aren't losing yet.

I remember conversations on these boards a few years ago about 'what would be the end of your Brewer fandom?' Man, I might be looking at it. This game is as pathetic as I've ever seen!

Oh yeah? I've got you beat. I had Peralta, Ryu and Teheran going tonight. Combined, their line tonight: 9 IP, 28 hits, 19 earned runs Edit: oh, and to top it off, my offense is 3 for 21 tonight. Home runs by Springer and Rizzo are all I have to smile about tonight. This is why I quit playing fantasy baseball. Having fantasy nights like that on top of watching a Brewer game like this was ruining baseball for me.

I'm in upstate NY, and there are some Brewer fans around here. In that case, many of them became fans because of Prince/Braun and/or the retro logo (best logo ever). I think those comments about Gomez are right on.
