  1. From @AP_Sports: Phillies/Cubs game story: Smyly gave up five runs in five innings. He has an 8.04 ERA in his past three starts after allowing one run in 13 innings in his first two starts for the team. Extend Stearns!
  2. I'm excited to finally see the Brewers play at Camden Yards.
  3. $18 million well spent. 1 million % better than Manny being the every day Catcher, without question. [sarcasm]BUT DAVID FREITAS!!![/sarcasm]
  4. Maybe Hiura really did need to "work on his defense"?
  5. Jim Bowden @JimBowdenGM Jordan Lyles #Brewers 3 of last 4 starts has allowed 7 runs or more. vs #Cubs on 7/4 gave up 10 hits 8 runs. vs #Cardinals on 7/24 knocked out after 1.2 IP giving up 7 hits and 8 runs. Opponents hit .277 with 9 HR vs 4-seamer and .306 vs slider. Last 5 GS 11.50 ERA.
  6. Man, he looked so promising his first year with the Mudcats and then just sort of stalled out.
  7. Any time you can trade assets for a player you could've just signed in the off-season you just gotta do it.
  8. I was looking at AAA stats to see if there were any former MLB'ers who may be toiling away down there and could be had for cheap and man, I guess I should've realized they're down in AAA for a reason.
  9. Braves get in on the dumb play action!!!
  10. Dumb mistakes continue. Let's hope it doesn't lead to a run...
  11. I think DS got too smart for his own good in thinking that we'd could have a rotation of SPs who only go 4-5 innings and then ride our BP every night like we did in Sept of last year. There is some wisdom in taking out pitchers too early rather than too late, but ideally pitchers should be capable of going 7 innings. We really don't have anyone other than Woodruff who I trust can do that.
  12. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/gl.fcgi?id=mileywa01&t=p&year=2019. No prospects, only $4.5 mil at the beginning of the season.
  13. I'm so old, I remember when pitching was our strength and we had so many options we didn't know what to do with all of them.
  14. Methinks Hook gets the hook at the end of the season.
  15. I'm so glad that the ownership decided we didn't need to pursue any additional FA pitching this year because it was more important to maintain their profit margin! I am also comforted that our 4th round pick, who may one day turn into a DH in the American League, was spared instead of signing Kimbrel or Keuchel.
  16. Check out the kid sitting in the front row. Already knows it's going to be a K before the 3rd pitch is delivered
  17. Yeah I think it's gotta be nerves, especially because he's come up a couple of times now with the bases loaded or multiple guys on base. Hopefully in a week or so we see him get the bat on the ball more often.
