  1. I just started bar tending a few nights a week, for fun, and a little extra folding money for the ole pocket. It's a newer bar, and pretty small, and the main focus is still the restaurant. In my opinion, the bar isn't exactly wear it needs to be yet. My question is, if you walk into any smaller Milwaukee bar, what do you expect to be there in terms of beer and liquor? This is what you expect, not what you want, which is a whole different story. Any bar I expect to find the following: 3-4 taps (Lite, MGD, Bud Light, 1 non-macrobrew) 10-12 bottle choices (MGD, Lite, High Life, Bud, Bud Light, Heineken, Newcastle, Spotted Cow, 1 or 2 seasonal Leinies, 1 pale ale, 1 red, 1 dark) 2 or 3 of every kind of spirit, 2 standards and at least one "premium" Jack, Beam, Maker's Cuervo, 1800 or Patron Jameson Walker Red, J&B, and at least one single malt (Glenfiddich most likely) Smirnoff, Grey Goose Bombay Sapphire, Tanqueray Others: Jager, Doctors, Black Haus Would love everyone elses opinion.
  2. Any interest? Open to offers. Not looking for a lot, but, will just go myself if there isn't a lot of interest.
  3. Thought of that one, but, would probably be in the batters eye and wearing the home whites.
  4. Would it possible/Why isn't it: Could (in theory) The Brewers rework any contract (let's just say Braun's) for the same money, but middle load it so a large chunk is paid off next year, and thus free up money 2012 and beyond? Has a team ever fielded two pitchers at the same time, a lefty and a righty, and one plays a position like first base. Then they switch off based on the batter? On a third strike swinging, that is foul tipped into the catchers mit, why does the ump still indicate a foul tip before signalling an out? Is that recorded different? Would it ever be advantageous in any circumstance to not lead off while on base?
  5. Jaime Garcia, for sure.Unless he doesn't meet the rookie requirement... Seems he was under 45 days in 2008. 18 starts 8-4 2.27ERA 103IP 84K I think "doing it all season" should be a major factor in the vote too. I would hold that against Posey and Strasburg. How can Stanton even be in the discussion?
  6. I second that, I didn't touch on that for a reason.
  7. We did this before too: http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=12397[/url] Some dead links in there, and a lot of old Brewers. My Bill Hall pic magically turned into a Red Sox pic as well.
  8. Holy Crap it's the same person! I have posted this before, but: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs464.ash1/25499_1376950554421_1551593334_30956929_2974886_n.jpg
  9. Yeah, Tim is the "super generic goofball. He just kept saying things like the whole goal is win the World Series and we gotta get some pitching in here." I give him a ton of credit for being able to remember stats, and he is able to hit :10 and :15 second promo spots without reading them and timing them out. I've worked in TV and seen people not be able to hit times so good with a script in front on them. His overall philosophy on baseball is to build around pitching, not hitting, which he hits on a lot having to fill 2 hours or so after each game. So he wasn't exactly saying "lets just add pitching" but that "a team should be built around pitching" and he would only concentrate on that going forward with the draft. I believe he even said he would draft pitchers with the first 30 picks in the draft. More on Tim here: Although, as with anyone, or any radio show, they both can become a bit much sometimes.
  10. Great thread, welcome, and so on. I personally really like 1250's post game show, Sparky and Tim, for various reasons. Tim gets extra points for being blind. For a team that has won 1 playoff game in their entire 50 years, I thought the Lee deal was outstanding for Texas. I often said this, even if LaPorta (or Brantley) turn into first ballot hall of famers, the trade for Sabathia was worth it in 2008. That whole season was such a fun time in my life. *edit/add on: I also think dual fandoms are allowed between the AL and NL. I keep a close eye on the Indians since my whole family is from the Cleveland area and would definitely call myself and Indians fan, no need to keep it secret. And, I could care less about Tony Romo and would be fine if San Diego wanted to claim him instead of us. (He was born there)
  11. I will trade you a box of Halls to the Wall and McClung shirts for it.
  12. Well shoot. I still think it would be cool.
  13. http://www.bestnest.com/bestnest/bat-houses.asp "Did you know ... that one small brown bat can eat up to 1,200 mosquitoes in a single hour!?"
  14. I knew a few employees at Menards who said the Mosquito Magnet got returned at a very high rate, would not recommend. I always felt the coolest way would be to get a bathouse, bats eat an absurd amount of skeeters in a day.
  15. Cattlemen's - Hands down I don't like sweet sauces at all, just smokey. They seem to have just revamped and renamed everything, so I am not sure what I like anymore, but the bottle used to look like this: http://www.parkersdeli.co.uk/acatalog/cattlebarb.jpg The classic was great and so was the "smokey" version. But, like I said, they seem to have changed things up.
  16. The first 2 games of the Yankees series in '05 were 2 of the best games I can ever remember going too.

  18. My idea came out of a Jim Rome segment for what the plates on the Corvette the Tigers gave Galarraga should say: 28UP28DN I got the text in too late and it was not read.
  19. As an exact commentary on the biggest umpire gaff in recent memory... "28 up 28 down"
  20. In a nod to Tim Allen... "Even a blind man can see..."
  21. I don't want to turn this into trying to answer these questions... but... Earl "The Goat" Manigault would be my answer/guess Would like to add, in the same thought as the last few, how good could American soccer be if it was the #1 sport? If it is what everyone wanted to do? I don't want to see an entire list, just want to know if Pujols is "clean"
  22. If I had the time I would really like to learn American Sign or Shorthand
