  1. Yeah, looking at the other CCs revealed today, I'll count my blessings.
  2. The official photos look more palatable than the originally leaked photo at the start of this thread. The script looks closer to white than to yellow. I do like the "base blue," the ball bobber and the Barrelman patch.
  3. I'd be pleased to be wrong, but this feels like the part of that Simpsons episode where Homer says of the roasted pig, "It's just a little dirty! It's still good! It's still good!" 😬
  4. *hawing realizes that it's been 20 years since owbc was at UW-Madison* *turns to dust* 💀
  5. Between age and gender, I know I'm far from the target audience for city connects. But there is much to dislike here: Orange? I mean, maybe it looks red in person, but orange is about my least favorite color and I look awful wearing it. (Please don't let it be "orange like the cheese y'all are famous for") Wisco? It's not Wisconsin Lutheran High School. I've never been a fan of either Wisco or Sconnie as nicknames. If they're trying to rep the whole state, some kudos for that, but not like this. You're going to incorporate a top tier state motto like FORWARD and then have it on the inside where it can't be seen? For now I'm just going to hope this isn't it (literally. It already isn't "it" figuratively). If it does come to pass...will it last long if no one buys the merch? The first city connect was such a hit.
  6. I imagine many of you remember the game in early 2018 which got turned around in a hurry when Yelich and Braun hit back-to-back homers to tie and walk off the game vs STL. The vibe yesterday (once the Brewers went ahead) reminded me of that 2018 game. We were at both. 😊
  7. I don't think we've been to an exhibition game in MKE for a while (I don't remember if they've even hosted any since the 2010s), but I honestly liked being there last night more than I will probably like being there Thursday. Intimate crowd of relatively diehard fans - from our seats we could hear individual heckles - instead of 40000+ people, at least half of whom are just WOOOO OPENING DAY AMIRITE and won't show up again until the postseason or until there's a giveaway they really like. Plus we got to sit down toward the front and park steps from the gates. ☺️
  8. What a great segue! Today (March 22) William Shatner is 95.
  9. Not to mention the long history of (some) Illinois residents regarding Wisconsin as their playground and Wisconsinites as their staff.
  10. I thoroughly enjoy that Nate is the ticket rep for so many of us. ☺️ Though there are periods when he is just really hard to reach. He does keep his autoreply up to date, though. All indications so far are that a channel for "traditional" cable customers (which includes the hawing household) will be established, but it hasn't been announced yet. So we play the waiting game, even if we'd rather play Hungry Hungry Hippos. (IYKYK)
  11. But still, if you have questions not fully addressed by the fan guide, ask them! 🙂
  12. The SSH/SSM/whatever "Brewers Bits" email from February 13 includes this language: In the next few weeks, we will have information regarding your MLB.TV subscription from MLB. Once available, there will be an email sent to you with the code for your subscription redemption. This MLB.TV subscription is valid for out-of-market games, just like prior years, and does not include Brewers games. If you are looking for Brewers games and do not already have it included with your TV provider, you can subscribe here: Brewers.TV Subscription I added the bold above. If you're considered out of market (and where you live, I'd guess you are), the MLB.TV subscription you'll get will act like it has in past seasons. In Madison, where the hawing household is, I am guessing we will be able to continue to use mlb.tv for live spring training, live audio of Brewers games and live video/audio of non-Brewers games. Pairing that with our actually still having traditional cable and I think we are just waiting to see what channel carries the brewers dot tv telecasts. If you're not sure (and I'm not 100% sure I'm right), check with Nate, ticket rep to the Brewerfan(atic) elite.
  13. Boston fans are super proud of their dirty water, so maybe "literally pure garbage" is less pejorative than we think! 😉
  14. They played kinda fast with the timeline (which they can do, it's a movie) but we enjoyed it too. I thought Kate Hudson brought a decent southeast Wisconsin accent to her role.
  15. Super cold weather like Wisconsin is experiencing this month kind of bugs me, but what bugs me more is when an administrator at my work sends out an agencywide email with reminders of how to stay safe in extreme weather. Especially the parts of these emails (which also arrive during heat waves) that say "If you must go out..." when you know the admin composing this can work from home as much as they want.
  16. That's my initial take. I kind of feel like Daniel Vogelbach as a hitting coach will be either the best or worst decision. Maybe like the difference between a walkoff grand slam and a high-leverage strikeout.
  17. Happy random new year, Brewer Fanatics! Behold the random GIF.
  18. It's bugging me slightly that I didn't get this thread started earlier in the day, but in my defense I've been sick all week. In related news (because it also bugs me), I don't know anymore how to get through my SO's family Christmas without catching a dang bug. I even masked during part of the party. 🤧 🥺
  19. Five transfers plus the four players whose eligibility just ended represents just over half the 2025 roster. Eight players are expected to continue with UW. A Florida MB has already committed to transfer in to Wisconsin, and the incoming 2026 first-year class is highly ranked, but the Badgers still need more setting and back-row help. College coaching is turning increasingly like my attempts to keep my library operation staffed with college students: maybe once in a while I find an employee willing/able to work for me their whole student period, but most switch jobs after a year or year and a half. Managing that turnover occupies so much of my time, and I struggle to imagine how coaches will do the same in a much higher-profile situation.
  20. It sure is to me. 2025 may have been Kelly Sheffield's best single-season coaching effort. The sheer amount of roster turnover had many people across fanbases wondering whether Wisconsin would have a rebuilding year, and instead they reached the final four and did not roll over even in their season ending match.
  21. You had Christmas music into February?! 😧 The radio stations around here that go "all Christmas" cut off that spigot at midnight on December 26. For me that feels a little early - I would run it through New Year's Eve - but past January 1 is just nonsensical. You have earned your curmudgeon status.
  22. Dick Van Dyke is 100 years old today, December 13, 2025!
  23. Oof! I've read that the tinsel can slice up a cat's intestines, so that cat you cited dodged a bullet. We haven't had a tree in our house for 20 years, for a few reasons: (1) space, as in what furniture do we have to store in order to have floor space for a tree; (2) cats, who also like to chew on needles and drink tree water; and (3) we're never home on the 24th/25th, so why not enjoy the trees at our holiday destinations. When we did have a tree, it was always real. We didn't want to contend with the storage space for a fake.
  24. Oh my goodness, that was just sad to see. Also the $1 rivalry baseballs filling multiple laundry carts. Time to take the L on some of that merch, Brewers. I still enjoy having a reason for a Milwaukee day trip, but the selection this year was underwhelming. Most of what I liked was not in my size. And of course, most of the half-off postseason merch was NLCS related. I really want to relive that, guys.
  25. I'm pleased to be wrong in this case (about these new jerseys replacing the navy).
