  1. I am completely spoiled when it comes to what I get to drive. I get to drive all types of interesting classic exotic sports cars. Mostly German & British stuff. Winter is a hard time because all of our customers have their toys in storage. And the winter restoration projects we have can't be driven on the salty roads. I can't wait for April to roll around. Another perk is that I get unlimited paid vacation as long as I don't abuse it too much. Terrible health insurance though.
  2. The movie is generic. Isn't that what a Rambo movie is all about? It's just a bad plot and Rambo killing as many dudes as you can fit into 1 hr 30 min. No apologies.
  3. I had a great time at Comerica too. I attended the last game of the DET series last year. The stadium is located in the one nice part of town. And it is a beautiful park to watch a game. The bartender was friendly and described the experience from the no-hitter a couple nights before. The fans were friendly, at least until the dude in front of me got uptight when my friend was dogging on Sheffield. And also after the Brewers barely won the game, the fans were telling me to go home. Believe me I was. Detroit is a city in major decay. I drove past the old Tiger Stadium (it is still there) and was hoping my car wouldn't break down because the neighborhood was so bad. I plan on seeing AT&T in San Francisco this season in July. I doubt I'l be disappointed. There are also a ton of great minor league ballparks out there too. I remember going to Colorado Springs Sky Sox games in the late 80s when I was a kid and watching a lot of that early 90s Indians team play as prospects. Appleton & Lansing are fun single A parks. I've been to a few wonderful AAA ballparks in Indianapolis, Oklahoma City & Memphis. Memphis is quite possibly the best baseball stadium experience I have had in all of baseball at any level.
  4. Brilliantly violent. I think Rambo invented new ways to kill a man in this one. I loved it!
  5. Dude. This offseason will last forever if we keep counting down each day. Don't you remember how long it took to get to Christmas when you had those countdown calendars as a kid? I'm gonna try to avoid this thread and hope that the winter will whiz by and baseball starts in no time at all.
  6. I was gonna recommend the Osthoff in Elkhart Lake as well.
  7. I wasn't charged any for any shipping costs. And they're (NY & PHI) shipping them via DHL to me.
  8. Now I'm eligible to purcahse Padres tickets. I think I'll hold off in hopes of the Brewers sweeping them and knocking them out of the wildcard. Has anyone sold tickets off of StubHub.com? I'm wondering if that'll be the easiest route to get rid of these tickets.
  9. From small to large in price and size: Sentra, Altima, Maxima
  10. I just purchased 3 tickets for Game 2 at Citizens Bank Park. I really have no plans on going to this game because I'll probably be in Nashville at the time (Unless the Brewers miraculously are playing the Phillies in this game). But I'll be rooting for the Phillies to take the Wild Card or the NL East. Anyone want to go to Philly? Edit: I just ordered two tickets for Game 3 at Shea Stadium too!
  11. I'm gonna register for all of the other potential playoff teams too. Seing an away game would be cool too. If I am fortunate to get the opportunity to purchase any tickets, any extras will be offered to Brewerfan.neters first.
  12. As a Store Manager of an auto repair shop, Firestone's estimate looks damn generous. I don't know if your Galant has a 4 or a 6 cylinder motor in it. But most of them have the 6. Assuming that, it looks like they are probably only marking up the part by $50 from their cost. This is extremely generous because list price is $880. Labor-wise they should only be charging you around $90. And I am sure it took a while (possibly a couple hours) to diagnose the problem, and am assuming that they are taking a loss on the labor there. Do not get a distributor from Clownzone. Excuse me... Autozone. Trust me. There is a reason why the parts are cheap. I don't care what their warranty says. With something as important as an ignition distributor, I wouldn't settle for anything less than Orignal Equipment Manufacturer. Firestone is not out of line with refusing to install an Autozone distributor. They are just trying to cover their rears. If my shop installed a customer supplied distributor from Autozone or Napa, etc.,, I would make sure I had the customer sign a waiver stating that there is no warranty whatsoever. Car repair isn't cheap. Mechanics need to earn a living too.
  13. After seeing the 82 reunion, I am pretty sure it was Yount that I saw.
  14. So I was at Road America in Elkhart Lake last Saturday for the American Le Mans Series race. I was sitting on the grass in turn 5 when a gentleman who looked exactly like Robin Yount walked by. He was tall and thin and his hair was cut short with sideburns. I was tempted to say "Hey Robin!" but was afraid that it really wasn't him. After thinking about it and now knowing about the 1982 celebration this week, I get the feeling that it probably was him. Was anyone else at the races this past weekend and happened to see him too?
  15. I saw Dylan in Oshkosh a few years ago and was very disapointed. It must be a hit or miss thing when seeing him live. All I remember of the concert was trying to figure out what song he was playing because he changed the arrangements on everything. One act that blew me away was when I saw the Who back in 2002. They totally blew the opening act of Robert Plant off the stage. It's pretty risky to go see some of these performers when they are getting into their retirement years. They tend to be a let down and ruin your perception of how great they used to be. The Black Keys always bring everytime I see them. Same with Sleater Kinney, but they are now broken up. Paul Westerberg is always an interesting show because it will either rock or he will have a meltdown on the stage. Very entertaining either way. Some of my favorite live bands that aren't that big are the Figgs, Forty-Fives & The Hanson Brothers. Superdrag is getting back together for a few reunion shows this October. I already have my tickets for Nashville & Chicago. I can't wait! How come Yuku doesn't seperate my paragraphs?
  16. A couple innings ago, BA was dicussing why Spurling was on the bereavement list. I missed every word of it because my lady friend was whining about her job or something. Can anybody fill me in on the Spurling discussion?
  17. That makes me even more angry over last nights loss.
  18. Isn't Parra suppossed to get some work in today so he'll be ready to start Saturday's doubleheader?
  19. I have an Italian Greyhound and have had a number of hurt leg scares. When my dog hurts himself or I step on his leg or whatever, I'll try to feel the affected leg. I try to feel if anything is broken or seperated. I squeeze the entire leg and try to find anything wrong. If you end up touching or squeezing an area that is not right, the dog will usually let you know it by screaming or nipping at you. If you find something when you do this, I recommend making a vet visit. However if nothing obviously wrong is found, I tell my dog to be a man and walk it off because it's probably just something he twisted or sprained. The dog may limp around, but the condition seems to improve within a day or so if his activity is limited. A couple months ago, my dog ran into a stack of pipes when I was tossing him a tennis ball. Hit hit the pipes at full speed and flipped a couple times in the air before landing on his side. It looked terrible. He got up and whimpered a bit. I walked up to him slowly to see if there was any visual evidence that he was hurt. But once he saw the tennis ball in my hand, he got all excited for me to throw it again. I figured he must not be hurt that bad if he wants to keep playing. So He chased the ball for a couple more minutes until he started licking his leg. I took a closer look at it and discovered a huge gash on his leg with his tendons exposed. I threw him in the car and rushed him to the vet after seeing that.
  20. Yeah. I heard that his heart exploded while doing a bench press.
