  3. With my lack of money, I wouldn't be caught dead in an Escalade.
  4. Ryan Adams
  5. I've been with US Cellular for almost 10 years now. No problems.
  6. Maybe. But doubtful.
  7. I filled up this 80GB iPod so I had to purchase a 160GB. The iPod is still in great shape. I just use it at the office to play music through the stereo. The headphones have never been used. I have no idea what to ask for it. PM me for more info.
  8. I remember Melvin stating that Villy was out of options on one of the "Talking Brewers" episodes. At least I think I remember. Can anyone confirm? Either way, I will be furious if we see Villy in a Nashville uniform.
  9. They're the Ned Yost of music.
  10. I can confirm this.
  11. Volvo is owned by Ford.
  12. Creed is a poor man's Collective Soul. Collective Soul is a poor man's Pearl Jam. I may have missed a step somewhere in there.
  13. Nickelback to me looks to be a mediocre band who happened to be in the right place at the right time to get their record deal. They are just a 4th generation rehash of a big label looking for the next Nirvana. Only Nickleback is much easier to work with because they don't care about their artistic integrity (if they ever had any at all). They are just a band of "Yes" people who will bow down to any suggestions from the record label. The label struck gold with their first hit and they keep rewriting that hit over and over until the public doesn't care anymore. By that time, the label will throw them out and Nickelback will have to tour the casino circuit and the occasional Summerfest gig just to make a living. It's obvious to see that Nickleback is not making music for the right reasons. Everything about them seems fake and forced (fake emotional lyrics, unoriginal looks, nothing original musically, false enthusiasm). Nickleback is the music industry's proof that they can sell absolute crap if they shove it down the public's throat. Some have said that AC/DC's songs all sound the same. Chuck Berry's songs were practically all the same too. The key to AC/DC & Chuck Berry not sucking is that it is obvious that they are doing it for the right reasons. There is nothing else they'd rather be doing than cranking out tasty riffs. I challenge any man to compare live performances of a Nickleback show and an AC/DC show. Youtube it dude.I guarantee you that the difference will be night and day when it comes to the level of energy. An 80 year old Chuck Berry and a 60 year old AC/DC could out-rock Nickleback in their sleep.
  14. I can't stand the Nascar marketing machine. It's a shame because my cousin is the girlfriend of Truex Jr. and I have another cousin that works for DEI. I usually will find myself watching the end of Daytona and the road races. And I'll check out to see how the road racers (Montoya, Said, Villenueve, etc.) do against the good ol' boys. Open wheel racing in the U.S. is on life support. Looks like the Champ Cars will be bankrupt or will merge with the IRL. Or both. Either way there will still be many hurdles to clear in order to make open wheel racing matter again in this country. The ALMS is a series to keep an eye on. The cars are the stars in sports car racing. Manufacturers actually compete among one another with technology they develop. And the manufacturers are delving deep into alternative fuel technologies. The technology on today's race cars will be the technology used on the cars we drive tomorrow. Unlike Nascar's joke "Car Of Tomorrow" which has about as much technology as what people drove back in the 70s. Nascar finally converted to the use of unleaded fuel for this year. Whoopie!!! Go see the ALMS race when they come to Road America in Elkhart Lake this summer. You won't regret it. You'll be hooked when you hear those huge Corvette V8s roaring as they come out of the woods and into turn 5. Last year's race was a classic. The little Porsche P2 prototype held off the big bad Audi diesels for the last hour of the race. Formula 1 starts in less than a month. It has huge problems as well. Most in part due to the greed of Bernie Eccelstone. But it's the only series I watch religiously. I'll be heading to Montreal in June because Indy is out this year. Anyone else going to any races this year?
  15. With this being the worst winter I have ever experienced by far, I find myself dreaming of summer constantly. That one dude from that one Tom Cruise movie once said "The sweet ain't as sweet without the sour." I will be taking advantage this summer for sure. I'm just wondering what the rest of you are looking forward to this summer. Let the daydreaming begin.
  16. Yeah, she's a keeper. We've been living in the same house for 3 years now. We're pretty much married, just never made it official. If we did split, I'd keep the TV and dog, she'd take all the furniture.
  17. Still waiting for one document from American Funds. I'm getting a bit worried because it has been over a week since the 31st. But here is my economic stimulus plan: • Get a ticket to the Canadian Grand Prix (Hey, Canada's economy needs some help too) • Get a new suit tailored for my sister's wedding (I was hoping to get an old west suit like you can get from River Junction, but it looks like I'll have to settle for a modern day three-piece) • Get a new 160 GB iPod and sell my old 80 GB to recoup some of the cost (Anyone interested?) • Get the seats reupholstered in my 73 BMW (I think I'm gonna hold off on this one until I am certain I'll be keeping the car for the long term. It still hasn't proven to me that she's reliable.) • Have an antique radio restored for my sister's wedding gift • Give some money to my Aunt for doing my taxes every year (She deserves a nice gift) • Get the girlfriend something nice (Not a ring. Maybe some earrings.) • Get a new TV (Now that the Brewers' home games are in HD, it's time to finally get a nice TV. I've got my heart set on a 37" LCD. The girlfriend's gonna have to pitch in on this purchase.)
  18. Dude, can you up the price limit to something like ten bucks? You can get the Best Of Tony Joe White for $7.99 new.
  19. What I can't stand with these performances is the false fans they run out onto the field and their false enthusiasm of the performance. I can't stand the close ups of some blondes and fratchoades rocking out/pretending to sing along, when everyone knows that they could care less who is on that stage. I wanna see some mullet rockers pumping their fists to Petty instead.
  20. Anyone know if Time Warner offers FSN in HD in the Appleton area? If so, my tax return is going towards the new HDTV I've been dreaming about for years.
