  1. Sorry if I'm jumping the gun woogie. I just wanted to say that for a June game, this one is pretty close to a must win in my eyes. The Brewers have a huge 10-game road trip where they need to win 5 or hopefully 6 games to keep pace with the Cardinals and Cubs. I know the Cardinals have a tough stretch coming up, but they did almost just sweep Boston... Meanwhile the Brewers have been hot lately, and I think they need to carry that over on the road to make a big statement before the All-Star break. In order for a 5 or 6 game road trip to become a reality, the Brewers need to get off to a good/decent start in Atlanta - Especially with Sheets on the mound. We cant afford to lose games with Sheets on the mound if we hope to have a successful road trip.
  2. sgt - I live in Tosa, particulary, in the Tosa Village appts on 68th and state st. a question for anyone that pays for similar services: I get cable, DVR, HD, the package with espn in it, and business class roadrunner internet. back when i had HBO, i pad over $140/month. i ditched the HBO stuff to get it down to around $115 per month. I get a discount through work and called TWC and talked them down to $91 per month. in september, im sure thats going to spike back up to $115... If I get U-verse, HD/DVR, and a speedy internet from AT&T, am I even going to pay <$100 ?
  3. I know this is a little over $50, but you should be able to find a decent used driver at a golf store for like $75. The quality of these drivers will be MUCH better than just about any driver someone will sell you for <$50. Just my opinion...
  4. i am looking forward to switching over to U-Verse, especially when my TWC rates are going to skyrocket after my 1-year promotion ends. However, I got a postcard in the mail last month saying something to the effect of: "AT&T will not be servicing at _____ (my apts address) this year. Sorry for the inconvenience" BOOOOOO
  5. you still posting in here? thought you "called" the loss a few pages ago? anyways, i hope this teaches the Crew not to give away at-bats when they're up 8. Whoaaaaaaa. Forgive me for "calling" a loss. Since the majority of the people posting here today seem to believe in jinxs, have you ever heard of a "reverse jinx"????? Thats why I posted that, to turn things around; and look what happened! In fact, because of you calling me out, I will forever stand by that my reverse jinx saved the game for the brewers. look back at my posts, ya jerk. i am one of the most positive posters on this site and my "call" shouldn't have been taken so seriously, so calling me out was not exactly called for. you mad i'm still posting? too bad for you.
  6. another thought. how many times have the brewers blown a team out and had an easy day at the ball bark, then came out the next night completely flat? maybe this will light a fire under their butts and they can come out with something to proove tomorrow night. hopefully they step their games up and go for another sweep against the orioles; instead of being happy with their good fortune as of late.
  7. i am not happy they won, but im not mad either at how they almost blew it. i am completely indifferent to the brewers after this game. i am happy for bush and looking forward to gagne coming back (sadly). but i also feel bad for bush and for torres
  8. i hate it when i have no confidence the brewers can get an out
  9. im calling it right now. brewers will lose this game
  10. thanks a lot dillard. now the brewers cant have a positive runn differential after todays game... vent thread, here i come!
  11. 62 ABs 10 HR 11 BB 23 K = 71% 3TO Percentage awesome
  12. sauveb - i had it done in february. its unreal how amazing lasik can be. just wait until you ATTEND your first game after the lasik. dear blue jays, B.O.H.I.C.A. buddy! signed, the brewers
  13. they need a branyan shirt with "built in" muscles.
  14. I am a huge fan of Tiger, and think he's one of the greatest athletes on the planet, but I kind of find it strange that nobody else seems to find it strange how this amazingly conditioned athlete tore his ACL..... while jogging? Meanwhile I dont recall the Hefty Lefty, Lumpy or other non-athletic-looking golfers ever being injured like this (or maybe it just never got the press because they are not tiger Woods) Anyways, I hope for a speedy and 100% successful recovery. And we better freaking still win the Ryder Cup. I will be taking off of work once again and I cant STAND to see those Euros when they bash our faces in during the Ryder Cup
  15. i was in new york last month and went to a yankees game. we stayed at a marriott in midtown manhattan (3 E 40th St - or 40th St. and 5th Ave.) for around $300 a night (over a weekend). I highly recommend this hotel as being worth the money. clean, newly updated/rennovated, quiet, extremely comfortable beds, and a really good location. as far as the subways, just plan on getting to the stadium really early. you'll want to walk around and see the new stadium and the memorial area anyways, so you shouldnt really have to plan for spending extra time in the subway. they dont run that much slower jsut because they will be more packed. catching a subway 2-2.5 hours before a game should give you plenty of time to get there and have extra time no matter where you are staying in NYC. in yankee stadium, we sat in the upper deck on the 3rd base line. We paid $60 or so on stubhub for tickets. the seats were fine, but the only downfall was that we missed the controversial homerun that was called a foul ball during the mets/yankees game. here are some pictures from our seats. I was happy paying $60 for that seat because i didn't think $20+ was worth paying just to see the entire 3rd base line. http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk174/Minotte80/New%20York%20Day%202/P5180051.jpg?t=1213711937 http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk174/Minotte80/New%20York%20Day%202/P5180049.jpg?t=1213711967 http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk174/Minotte80/New%20York%20Day%202/P5180050.jpg?t=1213711987
  16. good topic. edmonds, thanks for being in the service and defending our country!
  17. game. over.
  18. the match should be show live on the internet in 2 places. i know espn.com is one of them. i think usopen.com is the other i dont know if it will stream at work though...
  19. as far as subways: the green line (4,5, and 6) or the orange line (B and D) will take you right next to yankee stadium. (161st St exit) take the 7 (purple) line to the willets pt stop (2nd from the end) to get to shea stadium see the map below. http://newyorkcity2005.web.infoseek.co.jp/information/maps/images/maps/subway_bronx.jpg what kind of money are you looking to spend per night???
  20. according to tim kerkjian: Outfielders: Ryan Ludwick, Cardinals, Nate McLouth, Pirates and Pat Burrell, Phillies: Ludwick is another great success story, as he's improved from a fourth outfielder to an All-Star. I was told McLouth would have a breakthrough year. I didn't listen. Burrell is in the top 10 in slugging percentage and is in the top five in on-base percentage. Reserves: Ryan Braun, Brewers, Aaron Rowand, Giants and Xavier Nady, Pirates.
  21. how can anyone say he wont get voted in??? braun will get huge surges of votes every single homestand with them handling out ballots every home game. last homestand, he went from 10th place to 6th place. and we have another 9 game homestand coming up. braun will only move up from 6th in the next few weeks.
  22. so far it looks like today is going to be a little tougher than yesterday. anyone under par or at E, -1 or +1 should be right in the hunt. I cant want to watch this weekend!!!
  23. dave bush at home = great chance of a brewers victory. getup - there's your confidence factor right there!
  24. braun is 5th in MLB in HRs. If anything, he is going to the Derby...
