  1. i think maybe this is the perfect night to throw out a mini-"JV" lineup instead of on Thursday for Sheet's start. Since this is the game we are at the biggest disadvantage on paper, why not just couple that with playing some guys that might see action on thursday (kapler, ?). Who knows, maybe it would turn into one of those awesome offensive performances by the bench-filled lineup and the brewers can steal another win. i dunno just throwin this out there...
  2. soup's ERs in the past 5 games 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 then 5 then 6. i dunno i thought that was kinda funny, getting worse in a very linear fashion. EDIT: eanelson you beat me to this one... anyways, i hope the turnaround for soup begins tonight. even if that means 5 ER (and hopefully major run support), then 4 next time out, and once he gets abck down to 1ER, it will be almost September and it might just stay down there... if i was given some $ that i could only bet on the brewer game tonight, i wouldn't even know what to do. on paper says we get dominated, but theres so many intriguing things that have been going on i dont know what to think: - brewers abusing other team's aces this year - soup pitching against his former team - the brewers on an absolute roll right now the list goes on...
  3. i like to joe-bob commercials. lol. but i will officially annoint the WORST wssp ad of all time: the new tres locos commercial this is the only commercial i find to be so unbearable i have to mute my radio. it's these 2 idiots (one is a cub fan) who are talking about where they want to eat dinner and "get their drink on". the cubs fan eventually suggests tres locos, which prompts a "tres WHHHATTTT?" reponse, followed by "locos, you know, crazy, like your dumb butt". just when you think it cant get any worse, it ends with one of them turning ghetto and saying how wants to get a "margaRITA". grrrrr
  4. peavey. if you want a spot near the front, i would get there at or around 3. you may have to wait in the car for a bit, but the lot will be half full if you show up at 4:00. if you are close enough, you can have a few beers while you wait...
  5. Honestly, no. I love Shouse, but I would use Shouse in loogy situations only so he won't get burnt out. remember, he may be playing for another month compared to the past few years. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif and he kinda getting up there in age...
  6. First of all, Shouse had something like a 1.93 ERA going into the SF game on Sunday. And I dont think Shouse can be blamed whenever he gets knocked around by a righty. If Shouse pitches against lefties like he SHOULD be doing, his ERA would be even lower...
  7. so going to strip clubs make you feel more masculine? sorry but thats just sad...
  8. the brewers beat the cardinals last year on espn, so that should make you a bit more comfortable. we must win either tonight or tomorrow...
  9. yeah you know its been a while for woogie when he still has tavaras in his avatar and no CC... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. the worst night for a late start. i am driving solo up to wausau tonight and would have love to listen to the game on the way up. guess its gonna be a boring drive...
  11. valpo, dabrew is right. those two courses are very good. i think the par 3 course on the north side is Noyes (on Good Hope)
  12. i steak N shake opened up a year or so ago in wauwatosa. i ate there once and probably will never god back. this isn't fast food, but when i'm down south, i always try to find a waffle house
  13. is their food any good, or just the desserts/drinks?
  14. looks like both the mets and cards win... crap
  15. go cueto and peavy!
  16. just got back from the bar. from my point of view, sheets' struggles were large part due to soto. what a horribly called game. sheets seems to be a pitcher that relies on rhythm and it's hard when he had to shake off soto 1 or 2 times on just about every pitch... maybe struggles is a bad word. he just didn't seem comfortable. great job by benny though...
  17. i am really torn about who i am rooting for. i guess ideally, i would want all 3 brewers to do well, and i want all the cubs players to suck and cost the NL the game. my reason: since the cubs have the best chance to make the WS, i do NOT want them to have the homefield advantage. its not worth the risk of rooting hard for the NL...
  18. thanks zurch. ive never heard of that course but after reading up on it, it sounds like it would really be worth checking out.
  19. you're right, and i really not trying to be as defensive as i seemed. i just didn't want to topic to turn into a strip club discussion which it seemed like it was turning into at the time. more great suggestions, thanks guys!
  20. during the second round, berkman and morneau both went through their entire round with very little to no commentary form any of the announcers. i know what hamilton did was amazing and it's an awesome story, but they completely shunned the other contestants, one of whom ended up "winning" the derby. that was the only thing that irked me. berman didn't do too many of the "back back back" calls, so overall it was very tolerable
  21. I had a feeling this conversation was going to turn into a strip club/strippers conversation... ok, i get it! many people like going to strip clubs and having strip clubs or strippers involved in their bachelor party. if you want to discuss it further, start your own thread please. i have never been to a strip club and dont plan on going to one, and neither has the groom to be or the other guy helping me plan the party. this thread is asking for helpful ideas for the party I am planning which has MY conditions. my apologies that we dont feel that including a tasteless, low-class waste of time and money is necessary for having a good time. if i want to see a woman naked, i will go to my girlfriend's house. but thats just my opinion, and i dont look at the 95% of my other friends who do like strip clubs any differently... now, if anyone has anything helpful to say, that would be appreciated!
  22. Billy, as you said in the 1st half of Carolina-Kansas: "It's Over!" http://www.sanctify.com/CB/images/Hallelujah-Easter_lg.jpg
  23. as of right now several of the things mentioned are on our list. i must admit, we are a bit leery about planning actvities that are really weather-dependent...
  24. he's ESPN's new "Bill Simmons" he gets his spot in the magazine and has columns you can't comment on...
  25. ideally, i would like to involve golf, tailgating, a brewer game, and bars... but the other people going aren't big golfers and some of them aren't even (gulp!) big brewer fans...
