  1. Will the Brewers org be ok with having no left-handed starting pitchers? Parra is probably the easiest to send down (I'm not sure of the option situation on Villy) and his spot lines up with Difelice, but he's also the only lefty.
  2. I went down Mitchell. It's a little trickier than some other streets as it's narrow and there are often cars parked along the side, but once you cross over the freeway, it gets wider, then either 1st or 2nd St. works for getting downtown. I've never tried it but it would maybe be worth cutting over 16th street, and then taking Bruce St to avoid Mitchell. I'm all about streets that are either wide, or lighter traffic.
  3. There are some great bike commuting streets for the South Side. Forest Home is downhill towards downtown and is nice and wide. Back when I worked near Southridge, I could get home (the East Side) in 30-40 minutes by flying down Forest Home.
  4. I'd much rather give DiFelice the shot than Weaver, but isn't DiFelice injured again (pulled after the 5th inning on Sunday)? His K/BB is sick, he has a decent WHIP, and just puts up decent numbers over all. He might do great in the majors or he might flounder, while with Weaver, we pretty much know exactly what he is.
  5. This is actually the one year where I wouldn't worry about the Cubs money. The Tribune Corp. has been struggling financially, especially since they were bought out (there are rumors that without major changes they could be bankrupt by next year). Picking up a missing piece for the Cubs probably won't be the company's first goal.
  6. I bike (now) or walk (in the winter) to work pretty much every day. Originally it was by choice and to save money, but after someone totaled our parked car, I pretty much have to. Fortunately, when Summerfest isn't in session it's pretty easy to get to and from work by taking the oak leaf trail.
  7. With Sheets going for the Brewers strike out record, I would think Saturday is going to be a great game. Hopefully the bats will show up too.
  8. Congratulations! My wife is at 37 or 38 eight weeks, and is doing every "trick" to finally have the baby.
  9. It seems like almost everyone at Huntsville is hitting over .300.
  10. Mike Cameron has been doing pretty well since returning from the suspension. Shouse and Stetter (minus the home run) have been doing well.
  11. Like many of the people on this thread, I think Turnbow can still be a great pitcher, I just don't think he can do it in a Brewers uniform. How did the fans react when he loaded the bases on Sunday without getting an out? He didn't take the experience well, even after Stetter didn't let any of the runners score. The Brewers can't bring Bush back up if they DFA/release Turnbow. Unless if T-bow came down with a case of the Dessens or another pitcher was injured, Bush has to stay in Nashville for 10 days.
  12. As usual, this game is a must win.
  13. Journal Sentinel TV guy Tim Cusprin mentioned your auction on his blog.
  14. Clearly this game is a must win.
  15. It's pretty easy to bike to the stadium from downtown if you follow the Hank Aaron trail, plus you get to park right in front of Miller Park. They're supposedly extending the trail to the west, making it easier to come in from West Allis, New Berlin, Brookfield, etc.
  16. They should drop a pitcher or DL Ben Sheets, but McClung performs a role that few of the other relievers can do, ie. the Chuck Crim role of long relief, and in three of his four outings he's been effective. If Sheets doesn't go to the DL though, there's a good chance Bush replaces him and McClung becomes the odd man out.
  17. That would have been a good question. I really liked his answers.
  18. When he said that Mitch Stetter was sitting next to him, I like to think that he meant Mitch Stetter had to type up his responses.
  19. Tonight, I'm going to shave off my goatee to try to shock my wife with the mustache when she wakes up in the morning.
  20. Jason Kendall needs to step up here.
  21. Please someone get Bill Hill across the plate.
  22. Supposedly, while Braun was playing third, Hardy would play a little closer to third to try to help cover for him. Maybe Hardy can position himself better with Hall on third base.
  23. As far as I know, gameday audio is the only way to get it... Any stations that might be streaming it otherwise usually blackout their broadcast.
