  1. I've been to County, Miller, Camden Yards, Wrigley, US Cell, and Riverfront and Shea, both in the years before their respective demises. I really liked Camden despite being in the absolute top row, it was sold out and it is in a really cool part of town near the water. Wrigley is what it is, meaning that you can appreciate the history even as you are uncomfortable for three hours watching a game. I'd have to say Miller Park is my favorite place that I've been to, just slightly over Camden, probably because I get to watch the Brewers there!
  2. Coffey can be on the roster because Riske was on the roster, and is now on the DL, so he can be replaced by someone who was not on the roster as of Sep 1. He should definitely get on there, because he has been pretty consistent since he got here.
  3. I thought the same thing Gobias, he looked like a totally different person in that game. I knew he had put on weight since his days in Atlanta, but it didn't hit home just how much until I saw that game again.
  4. It's got to be Jeter, because he is having an awful season at the plate. There is some precedence for this though, as he has had one other season that he started painfully slow and then was on fire in the second half to get back to his career averages. Not that I'm a Jeter apologist, just pointing out that he has the ability to get back to where he always is.
  5. yes, that BA comment was terribly non-superstition conscious
  6. I was just in NY a couple of weeks ago, and we caught a Mets game out at Shea. Definitely stay in Manhattan, even though it is a bit more expensive. We stayed at the Wellington just south of Central Park, and it was only about $200 a night, plus it's right next to a subway stop. I will reiterate, the subway is the way to go, as you can get off right next to the park in both cases, and in most cases it's not THAT crowded anyway. The great thing about staying in Manhattan is that you can also walk to any of the touristy things you might want to see when you are not at a game.

  8. Yeah, the easy answer is that maybe the other guy had bogus tickets, did he get his from the ticket office as well? Otherwise, I'd definitely say you have a good case to get some resolution from the club, but at this point it would be best if you and the other guy were both in on it, so they could look up both transactions.
  9. well, at least I'm glad to know it's not just me, I've had this nagging feeling all year in the games I've seen that it just seems off, and the camera work is just terrible. I've worked in TV, and believe me you can teach a mentally challenged monkey to direct most things, and that monkey's little sister can handle a camera
  10. along the lines of FTJs, I knew a woman named Anita Johnson
  11. Games without Frontiers by Peter Gabriel Blue Sky by Allman Brothers Interesting, I hadn't really looked but apparently those come up the most, because I usually shuffle
  12. I sure wouldn't take the Cubs rotation over ours, even this year. Marquis, Lilly and Dempster are all going to have ERAs near 5, because i can't see Lilly even coming close to last year's numbers, and Lieber isn't great either. On our side, yeah, Bush Soup and Villy could all have ERAs in the upper 4s too, but I think collectively they will be about .3 to .5 better than their counterparts, and of course Parra is much better than Lieber
  13. While I am not surprised in the least that all the so-called experts are picking the Cubs, I think the win-loss records up there should be right in the range of reality, hopefully the Cubs have fewer wins than that 86 to 89 range.
