  1. On TBS after they game they said Axford was going to get X-rays done. Maybe its just extra precautionary, but still scares me.
  2. I'm coming in from La Crosse and was wondering the same thing. I dont want to have to sit in line for a long period of time and then have to go park somewhere else. If we park at the State Fair (not sure if this is even an option yet) can we still tailgate there?
  3. I dont know if I am reading to much into this.. but does anyone else find it odd that they unscheduled the game that parra was supposed to pitch tomorrow and moved him to pitch the same day as suppan? I realize that they also have a game set up thursday for relievers, but still this seems a little bit of a hint to me.
  4. I would have to go with Zambrano and Ramirez, but most importantly Jeff Suppan.
  5. My thoughts exactly. Hopefully Jeffress has learned his lesson, but lets say he tests positive again. Does this ban him from all of major league baseball, or can he possibly be put on the 25 man roster after? I just find it odd that this is unacceptable when they are not on the 40 man roster, but once on they cannot be suspended for it by the MLB.
  6. Congrats to Lincecum he deserved it. (sweet a post with no puns!)
  7. Besides pitchers I think the only major whole we have is at Catcher. We need someone that can hit a little, to make up for any lack offense that is lost from CF. I dont necessarily mean power. I have no idea who would fit this bill in the FA market, but we need a veteran back there.
  8. Didnt see anyone answer this so I thought I would. From wiki "Morrow, who is a diabetic, acknowledged that his diabetes was a factor in the decision, saying that it was easier to balance his blood sugar in a relief position.". His potential must have changed the organizations decision though. The more I think about the trade the more it makes sense. We cant afford (giving up to many players or money) to get a stud starter. Taking a chance on someone like Morrow who is cheap and under control for four years would save us a lot of money, and could have high rewards. But as some have said, it just makes to much sense.
  9. http://ussmariner.com/200...es-2010-off-season-plan/ JJ Hardy for Brandon Morrow? I don't know a lot about Morrow, but from what I have read he seems to have upside and would be under control for 4 years. Thoughts?
  10. To me an ace is a guy that is going to go out there and give you the chance to win everytime out, work deep into games, and give the team a confidence no matter the opposing pitcher.
  11. Loved the interview, makes me miss the bombs he hit. I remember one time in particular Baseball Tonight showed him miss the ball by about a foot, and then crank the next pitch over 400 feet (against the Twins maybe, not sure exactly). Great memories, thanks Brooks!
  12. I'm on board for Felipe Lopez. He has been hitting well this season (.317) and is signed to only a one year deal (3.5 Mil). Of course we would have to wait for awhile to get him, but I think he would be a very good player to help us for a stretch run who probably wouldn't be that expensive to get because of the one year deal he has. Stats for Lopez: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?playerId=4254
  13. I think what hes trying to say is pitchers that tend to work faster "earn" more run support. They get their team back in the dugout and up to the plate again quicker causing the momentum gained from the previous inning or at bat by the player to not be lost. Playing defense for a long period of time in my opinion relates to offensive performance. I dont have any stats to back it up, but thats how I always felt when I played. Then again Sheets was a pretty quick worker and he didnt get run support. I also think, like others, that it has to do with a concious belief that they dont need to score as many runs.
  14. So far this year Gamel is proving he doesn't need to be platooned at all. He's actually hitting better against lefties (.429 BA) then righties (.296) and also has had more home runs (5,3) against lefties with almost half as many at bats. When he gets called up he shouldn't be taken out because of anything other than his glove.
  15. Like someone said before, getting the text "we got CC"
