  1. At this point I’m wondering if we score another run this series
  2. Playing game 3 of a [expletive deleted] 5 game playoff series like it was a Sunday rest game ahead of a long roadmap will be something I will never ever understand.
  3. There's a guy that works in my general group. I know of him, but don't really "know" him. Saw him in a Packers jersey a few weeks back, and didn't think much of it. Lots of Packers fans. Then this week I saw him wearing a Brewers hat, and I finally IM'd him "So, where'd you grow up in Wisconsin? I could see anyone being a Packer fan, but no one who grew up outside of WI would willingly choose to subject themselves to the pain, angst, and teasing that this franchise constantly inflicts on their fans?" And, yeah. Sheboygan. I just wanted to win 1 freaking series. Just 1. Just show something in the playoffs. Especially after last year. Just win one blasted series. The regular season means nothing when 12 teams make the playoffs. No Cub fan will look back on this season with disappointment "Oh damn it, we didn't win the NL Central. Wasted season!" They will be bummed if they lose the NLCS but they will have something to look at positively with 2 series wins at least. I'm so sick of this.
  4. Had a real Shawn Marcum in 2011 feel to it
  5. Thinking I would die watching the entire NFCC in 2010 vs the bears I would simply say “the joy of winning would not exceed the pain of losing to them”. So I’d rather avoid the potential and see them lose
  6. Look. I hate the Chicago Bears with the white hot intensity of 1000 burning suns. And yet? I hate the Cubs even more. So I have no desire to see them advance. I hope the Padres win a 17-15 game that requires the Pads to go through 7 pitchers.
  7. Cubs about to walk this off while we give away a 5-1 lead. Next two games are gonna be critical
  8. While I'm an EKG during individual games and moments, the reality is watching the Brewers and baseball makes me happy. Even when I express frustration in the moment to moment rollercoaster, baseball is the best. I want nothing more in my sports fandom than the Brewers to win the WS. Nothing even comes close. But, I'm very clear on the difficulty of that task even for the teams with limitless resources and money. It's incredibly difficult. Staking my "overall/life's" happiness on the Milwaukee Brewers winning the World Series would be ludicrous. That said, I can compartmentalize, and for my "Brewer fan" happiness this year, I want to win a playoff series. I'd rather be a Wild Card and win a playoff series vs win the division and lose their first playoff series. The regular season is fun and all, but the playoffs are what matters, and I want a Playoff Series win.
  9. After looking at the remaining schedules, that's correct.
  10. I don't think you'll have to worry about the Brewers being between 4 and 7 games up in the standings much longer.
  11. Guessing best case we'll be tied with Cubs this time next week.
  12. Cubs pouring it on and about to sweep a sub .500 team on the road while Megill blows another save to sub .500 at home, Wonderful. And the lead is down to 4.5
  13. While it may not have been a must win, I think walking out with a win vs. your rival/closest competitor instead of a 4 game losing streak is huge. And even if it’s only a huge deal for my stress level, I’ll still take it.
  14. Or we will have lost 4 in a row and 5 of 6 as we head in to a very difficult stretch while the cubs have a ridiculously easy schedule the rest of the way. I sure hope the brewers view it as a game they need to win and aren’t “meh whatever we’ll be fine”.
