  1. It would be tough to have a bullpen game as the sixth game in five days. Most of the bullpen guys have already thrown two days in a row (Sat. and Sun.).
  2. A rain out is possible tomorrow in KC, meaning Gasser may be the 26th guy in a Saturday DH.
  3. I agree on Ross and Milner being let go (even though they both have value). Another pitcher will be placed on the IL to allow Hudson, Megill, and Hall to return.
  4. Which pitchers are getting removed from the 26-man roster when Hudson, Megill, and Hall return?
  5. The Brewers need a starter for Tuesday, and it seems too early for Montas to be the guy with a physical being needed and the trade not being announced. Could Chad Patrick be a candidate? He’d be on his normal rest.
  6. He’s going to be a killer against Gallo and Rizzo in the World Series.
  7. Just having another competent arm helps the Brewers repeat the success they’ve had in recent Septembers, post roster expansion. Plus it gives the top arms additional rest so they’re fresh for the postseason.
  8. Brinson has been disappointing and Yelich has been exceeding expectations, but it’s worth noting that the other three players in the deal have exceeded expectations. Diaz’s AAA season is Hiura-esque. Harrison continues to OPS near .900. Yamamoto continues to be consistent. It will be fun to watch these guys with Miami in upcoming years.
  9. Here’s how I see the trade: Gave up Brinson, Harrison, Diaz, Yamamoto. Receive: Yelich, spots for 3 players that would have been exposed in the next Rule 5 draft, potential for high return if Yelich is flipped for prospects in 3 years.
  10. For those who don't like giving up the prospects, the Brewers can likely get 3 great years from Yelich and then trade him for 2-3 top prospects - all before any of the players the Brewers gave up (except perhaps Brinson) are ready to be above replacement value. The 5 years of control is huge - and why the Brewers needed to give up so much.
