  1. Well, it only took 62 posts for our first "haha, see it's in blue so I'm being sarcastic" ________sucks. I just don't see what these types of posts bring to the IGT. Maybe it's just me...
  2. Hey, I've got an odd request for the IGT tonight. I'm an inveterate IGT reader, both during the game and after, and tonight, just for one night, can we cut out all of the one line posts that say "Rickie sucks." Or "Bush sucks." Or even, to mix it up, "Gabe Gross sucks." I know that these posts are sometimes sarcastic, sometimes meant for the ever-popular "reverse jinks" but they do really get tiresome. I realize that if there's a place out there for those types of posts, the IGT is it, but still…Thanks!
  3. Posting from MP, and Cueto is nasty. Also, they played the slopper video. And there's just no doubt about it, it's slopper. And there's no way to work the count on this guy, he just pounds the zone.
  4. I know that last year should have taught us something. I know that we were 24-10. I know that we had a 9.5 game lead in late June. I know that we were 9-20 or whatever in August. I know that there are 156 games left. I know we just got finished playing possibly the worst team in baseball. I know that we've got a tough week coming up. I know Jason Kendall isn't going to hit .450. But… ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!?? Doesn't this team feel different than last year? Are you at all surprised by this start? Shouldn't we go out there every day feeling like we've got a great chance to win, and in some cases like yesterday, knowing something strange would have to happen for us to lose? Don't we have a legitimate ace in our rotation? Don't we have 3 (once Yo gets back) legitimate really good starters in our rotie? Don't we have a starting 8 that rivals any team in the NL? Don't we have a bullpen that appears deep in veteran, plus arms? Don't we have a lefty specialist that has proven over the last three years to be nearly as good as any in the game? Don't we have a closer that throws 94 with a nasty change? Do we not have an improved defense that should only get better with a 3-time GG winner that we get back in less than 3 weeks? Don't we have 6 legitimate, really solid outfielders? Do we not have 2-3 pitchers in AAA that would've made several other teams? Do we not have one of the top hitting prospects in the game raking at AA, just a year after he was drafted? Do we not have like 5 picks in the first 90 this June draft, and one of the best amateur talent scouts in baseball to make those selections? You get the idea. This team can win 90 games. At least. Not saying they will. But, they can. This week will be interesting. Cueto and Harang, vs. our 3 worst starters. Then go to the NYM and face Johan. A challenge, to be sure. 3-3 would be fine, 4-2 would be cartwheels. 2-4, not a disaster, but disappointing. This team is so fun to watch so far.
  5. I have no idea why, perhaps it could've been the usage of the word sack, but that story really made me laugh. In fact, I'm still laughing at the site of Selig, doubled over, with the Seven Dwarves doing their thing on the ice. Love it.
  6. I would be willing to place a large wager that, given the current state of the bullpen and Vargas' propensity to not pitch more than 6 innings, we would see the debut of Manny Parra tonight. A win here would be nice, guaranteeing a split against a solid opponent, with a chance to make this series/homestand special in the last five games.
  7. Thanks, Pedro. I'll throw my hat in the ring.
  8. Watching him walk off on MLB TV, it doesn't look all that terrible. But, of course, you never know with tendons and stuff like that. I hate, hate, hate Pittsburgh. Yuck.
  9. Stevo, that's one of my biggest pet peeves right there. If I see a Phillies fan, for instance, wearing a Ryan Howard jersey, that's cool. If same Phillies fan is wearing a Brewers suck shirt, in Miller Park..that's just classless. Go to Wrigley, wear your Brewers stuff, cheer hard, but don't wear the Choke shirt. It's disrespectful, and will only inspire polish sausage being thrown in your general direction. Let's be a cut above the Cubs fans!
  10. The only reason that makes any kind of sense for doing this is what RLuz mentioned, that last time CV was skipped, this time it's Bushie. That being said, I have no idea why this would be, barring of course an injury/roster move. Dissapointing to say the least.
  11. By far my biggest pet peeve when it comes to Anderson is this: Every time, and I mean every time, a batter fouls a pitch straight back, BA feels compelled to note that the batter was "right on that one." Once or twice a game, fine...but every time? See if you notice this in tonight's broadcast. It's irritating. Otherwise, I think he's just OK.
  12. Thanks a lot! I couldn't believe when I logged on to get tickets that there's none left, or at least not 3 together that aren't in the 400 level...Yo-Mania! I'm still looking, as I want to get as close to Yo as possible!
  13. Anybody have anything? PM me please. Thanks!
  14. Pedro, you are the man, even if I don't win! I'll put my name in the hat!
  15. I'm watching this on MLB TV, and I've got to tell you, we haven't hit into this much bad luck all year. We're crushing the ball, and have two runs to show for it. Those just following on Gameday might not be getting that picture. As for Gwynn, I certainly won't jump into that debate, but he has had several quality AB's...again.
  16. Hey DHonks, check out the Daily Brew. Along with an in-depth preview, I have included the action around the NL Central for the week at the bottom of the story. I'm no Doug Melvin, but I think there's some pretty decent nuggets in that article. Enjoy!
  17. Hey Woogie, due to some technical delays, it wasn't able to be posted until this morning, but I wrote my first (of many) series previews that will be posted prior to the first game of the set all season long. Could you link to it, along with the other stuff under "Game Previews". While you all can pretty much skip ahead to game three today, I did find a number that I haven't seen anywhere else when it comes to Miller at Miller. I think there are some other nuggets in there as well. Enjoy, and look for this feature regularly now on brewerfan.net. Series Preview
  18. It's funny how my heart raced when I saw "Sheets left after pitching to one batter in the 5th"...wait, is that funny? Can someone please tell me why he left? I assume it was a pitch count issue...
  19. Weeks, 2B Hardy, SS Fielder, 1B Hall, CF Estrada, C Mench, LF Hart, RF Counsell, 3B Bush, P Switch out Jenkins for Mench, and I think this is the most likely Opening Day lineup (Sheets for Bush, of course). If Ned doesn't go straight platoon, then I think Graffy will be in there against Lowe.
  20. Suppan's Milwaukee debut: 3 IP, 1 ER, 1-1 at the dish. I'll take that. Would be nice to get a win today, just because...
  21. I've seen enough of Vargas this year. To give up two runs, right off the bat like that...just unacceptable. Talk about getting the season off to a terrible start. Free CV!!!
  22. Here are David Nolasco's numbers as a starter vs. in relief, as requested: W- L- S ERA GP IP H R ER HR BB SO WP Start 2- 3- 0 3.76 7 40.2 50 19 17 1 9 27 0 Relief 1- 2- 0 7.14 14 40.1 53 37 32 7 19 36 0 EDIT: formatted stats --brian
