  1. Baseballamerica is not in my top 3 as far as prospect sources go...Longenhagen is way ahead of the crowd.....guessing 16 would be close to his Brewers ranking
  2. I got busy and did not do my own list, which I will still do at some point...my biggest deviation from the list is Braden Webb, who I have see live and was impressed by...his stuff is very good and he sustained mid 90's deep into the game with filthy breaking pitch.....I have him at around 12 overall and he is 31 here
  3. Stephen Drew? of the 41 career stolen bases? That scout may want to search for his reference points on something other than physical resemblance....
  4. Not sure how his first name is pronounced but Lou Whitiker ok's taking it from him if that works out phonetically. over last 8 games as an 18 year old at Helena - 15 for 31 with 3 homers and 13 rbi's. Turns 19 tomorrow actually....remember, he sparked some interesting comparisons when he was drafted as he was a star football player in HS
  5. Hello all, I drove in today and without planning decided to go to Brewer game tonight. Hawing is not going unfortunately but was wondering if any old timers from Brewer fan or anyone was going and was tailgating as I would love to glom on. I also searched for any events/bars that were holding tailgate event and did not find any so in lieu of brewerfan people any info for any groups I could join onto would be welcomed as well.
  6. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/brice-turangs-mlb-draft-slide-might-be-one-teams-regret/ And as a former scout himself, Blood has strong opinions. His strongest about the 2018 draft class is that Turang appears likely to be picked significantly lower than he should be on the basis of a less-than-expected senior season. Turang was seen as a likely top five pick coming into the year. Now, he's expected to fall into the second half of the first round. “I think part of it Turang’s performance this spring has not been as remarkable as it was the two years before when he was the best amateur hitter in the country,” Blood said. “When scouts went in to see him this year, they were holding him to a 1-1 standard. When they didn’t necessarily see that, they almost double penalized him for it. “It’s similar to what happens when a pop-up player outperforms what is expected of him and gets some extra helium. A lot of it is just human psychology. And at the end of the day, Brice is one of the most polished and pro-ready hitters in this draft, who also happens to be an above-average defensive shortstop.” “I think it’s just basic human psychology more than a it is a trend,” Blood said. “Those who have seen (Turang) succeed over the past couple of years on the big stage against the best competition know what kind of player he is, and will most likely have evaluated him higher than those who haven’t.”
  7. Not a sexy name, but this 39 year old free agent that made 1 million last year got 24 holds with the Royals last year and was very effective. For a modest amount he could be a nice final add to the bullpen
  8. Wow, there was so much stupid in that thread I thought I had wandered into a political discussion.... I really feel this has to be addressed from the bottom up, not the top down...the biggest issue in baseball lies with the most prevalent group oddly - the lower level minors and minors in general...Until that massive salary squashing is broached the serious money should not be foremost in the argument
  9. From SI: Josh's father, Charles Rosen, is a spine surgeon who was on President Obama's short list for surgeon general. Josh's mother, Liz Lippincott, is a former editor at Sportstyle and Golfpro magazines, and both are accomplished ice dancers. (They divorced in 2012.) Lippincott, a Princeton graduate, is the great-great-granddaughter of Joseph Wharton, who founded the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She's also the great-great-granddaughter of Joshua Ballinger Lippincott, who founded the J.B. Lippincott publishing company in 1836. Josh, the middle of three kids, is named after him. "I come from a wealthy, affluent, educated family," Rosen says. "I mean, not like get-a-Lambo-for-my-16th-birthday- wealthy, but like, affluent."
  10. Cocanower literally had the most movement on majority ofhis pitches of anyone I have ever seen....his control problems were a result of him being unhittable with his base pitch...he had to resort to throwing a dead fish fastball, which Moose Haas also used that had no movement

  12. Can I get a motion seconded that anyone that has Monte Harrison like 14th or 15th or even lower have their response voided? thanks in advance.
  13. I am a 46 year old Brewer fan that went to his first game as a 6 year old from Neenah, Wisconsin in 1977. I saw Frank Tanana (as a flamethrower) in that game and went to 10-12 games a year from 78 to 89 with my dad. I lived in the midwest from my college years beginning in 89 (LaCrosse) til I moved from Appleton, WI in 2008 to my current residence in Charlotte, NC. I mention this as a preamble for my postulate that as a Brewer fan, I have been consistent even as I have moved around. With that stated, I view these past two seasons as the most enjoyable I can recall for at least, a very long time....the excitement of a regime change last year and Stearns' cultivation of young exciting talent made last year much more enjoyable than the record would indicate, and I heard this sentiment from others as well.... This season, was expected by many to be a step back from that season before the rebuild actually gained momentum. Instead this year has consistently been entertaining and competitive. I put these seasons on par with 1978-1979 and 1981-1982 in terms of being the most exciting, interesting, and compelling back to back seasons in this franchises hitory from a fans perspective. Obviously this stretch pales in comparison in terms of general success, but when looking at expectations versus results, and the "personality" of the teams, I put this stretch up there with the two others mentioned. Would be interested to see the opinion of other "seasoned" Brewer fans.
  14. I think briggs is spot on this time....I bet the deal is Villar/Peralta/C+ type prospect for Kinsler and Wilson...however that does nothing for the two spots we pushed into last night
  15. I could not be more impressed by Greg Young on his call of the Erceg hidden ball play....holy cow was he ever on it and with excellent detail and insight... Incredible job by Young
  16. Holy smokes....just read the article Jabari wrote and am just stunned by how powerful it was...as a Bucks fan you just have to get choked up by it.....I really hope there are some thunderous Ja-Bar-I chants today
  17. Bernie is very very solid source... I watched the Cub game with Dodger feed yesterday and their announcers said there body language was brutal and it looked like their hitting slump as a team had gotten into team's head.....I could see a move happening, as parameters were in place already and timing just needed to be right.....i want a Beuhler/White combo to happen White is not as well known but has destroyed his competition in limited exposure so far....Trayce Thompson another piece that could come in a package
  18. Drake has been pretty close to a dominating reliever at the AA/AAA levels for 5 years now....he is prone to giving up home runs at the big league level....to say he is an old player is just goofy...the guy is still developing...it is the same Guerra is a grizzled vet false flag nonsense
  19. The Mahler Farms area in Neenah is fairly walkable to grocery stores and Cranky Pat's - a pizza place where site founder Brian has DJ'd before
  20. Gregmag brings the goods again....not certain why people are so dour on Arcia's offense...I think he will be good this year on both ends
  21. Love this deal for Dodgers...Forsythe is excellent player and a leader...Rays fans that I respect are peeved at the deal and it is well-known that Dodgers valued DeLeon 4th amongst their pitching prospects, even below Beuhler
  22. I grew up in Neenah (live now in Charlotte, NC) and really enjoyed it....nice little downtown area and the schools are high quality, if a bit old. I taught and coached in Neenah as well as Kaukauna and think that both of those schools are high quality in regard to their athletics - Kaukauna's basketball and volleyball programs are currently among the best in the state. Kimberly is a great area with excellent schools and athletics as well...my principal in Kaukauna is now at Gerrits middle school in Kimberly and is a wonderful guy The housing market in Neenah is less affordable than the surrounding areas....if I had to pick an area that would be my first choice to live in Fox Valley it would be the Darboy area in Kimberly school district.....
