  1. If the past few series are any indication, we'll inevitably lose one game in heartbreaking fashion, win a close one, and get blown out in one. I'll pick tonight for the heartbreaking loss, tomorrow for the close win, and Wednesday for the blowout. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. This team is DONE. Trade Carlos, the season is over. Let's start planning for 2007. Screw you Turnbow.
  3. I've seen this so many times before. I try to be optimistic with every blown game, but this is it. If we don't get bullpen help, we will not win 75 games. It's an absolute joke.
  4. It's so obvious to everyone but Yost, Roco.
  5. Can you say Rick Ankiel with this guy??? He's lost it....done, over, release him, whatever! I just don't want to lose any more games because of this loser.
  6. Here we go again. Fasten your seat belts. If Turnbow blows it today, he can't possibly get another chance can he? Let's hope it doesn't get to that point.
  7. Is this team completely incapable of getting insurance runs? I feel like we are going to follow the same script from Wednesday's game.
  8. If Turnblow saves just four of those eight games, we're four games over .500 right now. What a fine line there is between contending and being "horrible."
  9. Excellent point. You cannot underestimate the importance of a good bullpen. We would be 5-1 on this roadtrip with good pitching from the pen. Hell, we'd be 4-2 if we had a decent closer.
  10. Not to take the blame off Turnbow, but we had a 6-1 lead after two and a half innings...we shouldn't have had to bring Turnbow in. But still, Turnbow is in Dan Kolb territory right now. And I don't see Ned trotting Kolb out there in the ninth with a one run lead.
  11. I think we can all agree that this team is going to go NOWHERE this season if Turnbow keeps pitching like this. This guy is the worst closer in the league right now.
  12. How did Finley get to second on a bouncer up the middle???
  13. That just plain sucks. Uecker made it sound like it might be a double play off the bat.
  14. Comment withdrawn. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. Regarding Prince's collision with Greene, I will say that Greene held onto that ball an awful long time after contact was made. I suppose the rule is that you have to take the ball out of the glove and show the ump, but if Greene doesn't shake his glove off in pain (thus dropping the ball) he woulda had Prince.
  16. I know it's easier said than done, but when are our guys going to stop trying to pull outside pitches? If I'm an opposing pitcher, I pound the outside corner all night long knowing the Brewers are up there trying to hit HR's every time up.
  17. Is anyone else sick of Bill Hall trying to hit a HR to left field every at-bat? Go the other way Billy!
  18. Turnbow coming on in the ninth. Is anyone else a little worried about this? I think I can safely say that if the Brewers blow this one, we can pretty much give up on this season.
  19. Right now I want the Cubs to do well so they keep Baker. Nothing will piss off their real fans more than Baker sitting in the dugout next year.
  20. That's the sad thing. We very much could be a playoff team this year. Hell, look where we are right now with the bullpen we have.
  21. Huh? He was 7-1 with a 1.74 ERA and had 39 saves in 43 opportunities. If that's "OK" I don't know if MLB's ever seen "great." I still can't believe how much he's completely lost it though. Why does it seem like all of our closers have one good year and then go downhill from there?
  22. I think it's going to be interesting to see how the team responds after today. We're now on a four game losing streak, the offense is struggling, the bullpen flat out blows and now we've gotta face Webb tomorrow. I'm worried.
  23. I think we need a new closer. The league is on to Turnbow. 4 pitches, two runs, blown save, loss. I'm not gonna say the sky is falling, but what an ominous way to start the second half.
  24. I think the top of the 8th inning is a perfect example of why I'm worried about our chances in the second half. Lead off double by Jenks, followed by pop-ups from Lee and Fielder and a strikeout from Hall. Our offense still appears to be in a major funk. Geez...Matt Wise for a second inning. Look out here.
