  1. He's having the most miserable day of his life today and we're all upset about it, but he obviously regrets it and we'll eventually move on. Although it certainly will be easier if the Brewers avoid blowing late-inning leads in the postseason... He's not even the first pitcher this year to bust his pitching hand punching something. One wishes that he did it after a bad outing rather than after the celebration though. Just spitballing here, but don’t you think that if the FO wasn’t angry with Devin, they would have provided a little more cover for Devin? This is the same organization that came up with the whopper about Lucroy’s suitcase. Exactly, trotting him out there in front of the media to answer for himself is enough punishment and fit the crime well. The quickness and body language Stearns had when asked about when they learned about it said it all. Assuming he's not a total sociopath he should have learned his lesson and everyone should be able to move on.
  2. Props to Vogelbach for making an out so Urias doesn't have to worry about clogging the basepaths for Pina.
  3. I think Levering has some good chemistry with Uecker, but that's about it. One thing that bothers me a bit is how often he makes mistakes-- getting player's names wrong, forgetting the number of outs, etc. As Uecker has gotten old I've gotten used to expect this sort of thing, but Levering is like a third of his age. I'll also be the guy that wishes for a little more... diversity, for lack of a better term, in the booth. Since Powell has left there's been a parade of seemingly indistinguishable white guys in the role. I imagine the talent pool for radio isn't great these days, and they're not exactly looking to draw criticism for their choices, but hopefully when Uecker moves on they're willing to take some chances and bring some flavor into the booth.
  4. Rock and BA sounding like they want to kill each other… and it’s just the third inning.
  5. Nice backwards K from Christian “Rally Killer” Yelich. Does he have any options remaining?
  6. Is Wong feeling guilty for the Brewers beating the Pirates like a rented mule and giving them free outs?
  7. If a manager were to replace the pitcher with a position player already in the game, would they get the opportunity to warm up or would they have to start pitching immediately?
  8. Sounds like there's more Brewer fans than Cubs fans at Wrigley today. American Family Field South?
  9. Elaborate please? Even considering that it was an earlier era and we knew less about pitching injuries, Phil Garner rode Cal Eldred unbelievably hard: https://www.brewcrewball.com/2011/8/30/2392811/today-in-brewer-history-eldred-overextended This outing finished a four start stretch where Eldred made four appearances on normal rest and averaged 142 pitches per outing.
  10. CC is already beating Garner in the "young pitchers careers destroyed" category for sure. Has some work to do to beat Yost on on-field meltdowns, but he learned from the best.
  11. I wonder if the call would have been any different if Wong had stayed put and waited to be awarded the bb instead of busting out of the box. Seems like any time a player takes off on anything remotely close on ball 4, the ump rings him up. Like it's an ego thing or something. Another reason to welcome our new robot overlord umps.
  12. If the season is called off or some of the postponed games are never played, do those games count against the players' prorated salary? If that's the case, if I were one of the players making league minimum or who has made little money playing major league ball, I'd be rather upset at the players who acted irresponsibly.
