Bought tickets for the Gold Cup final in Chicago today in the AO supporters section. Should be a lot of fun Now what are the odds the US team even makes it...

I'm aware that most folks that post on here have each of these, but I thought I'd take a chance that someone else checks it out. I have a duplicate of every SGA bobble from the past 6+ years and I'm looking to pare down the collection. Thanks!

I went to college in NOLA and lived there for 6 years. No one above has steered you wrong. I'd especially second Cochon Butcher. For me, that's a must. Green Goddess in the Quarter is one of the best new restaurants. Its a little hidden on a pedestrian alley - but its awesome. Whenever I had out of towners in, I took them to Court of Two Sisters for brunch because I think its a great way to sample a lot of different New Orleans and Creole flavors and dishes. Its also something of an insitution, usually has jazz playing and is just a really good meal. Champagne Brunch at The Columns on St. Charles Avenue is a great, somewhat upscale way to start a Sunday. Even if you don't have a destination in mind, spend an hour or two riding the St. Charles streetcar. You'll really see some different parts of the city - incredibly different from the Quarter. You'll see the universities and all the gorgeous mansions along St. Charles. It may be too late for this, but you know if you stayed Friday and Saturday that you'd get to experience some early Mardi Gras parades, right? Parades are so much fun and, to me, the entire point of MG. I promise its not the drunken madness you have in your head and because its so early in parade season, its all about the locals. If there's anyway to cheaply and easily change your plans, I'd absolutely stay Friday and go see the 2 Orleans Parish parades that day/night.

I'd definitely rent a car and travel about a bit. We went up into Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park for a day, via Estes Park and loved it. Plenty of short little hikes to do - go around Bear Lake, its a short but gorgeous walk. We also took another short hike in that same area that was more elevation and when up a small waterfall. You can drive a bit in the park there - we saw an elk and some birds - it was totally worth it. I'd second going to Boulder. Its a cool, walkable town. We also went to Bookcliff Winery and did a tasting and really liked that. In re-telling, I guess we spent very little time in Denver proper. There's just too much cool stuff around there to stay still. We went to three games at Coors, so we ate in that area a lot. There are a couple of breweries and we especially liked Wyncoop's food. There was a asiago dip appetizer that I still think about, it was so good.

I work in Marketing/PR for a non-profit and we don't use the AP and we don't have our own stylebook and it drives me nuts. There is no standardization in the large amount of printed materials we produce. I have no idea how they've gone this long without it. I've used the AP so long that most things I don't have to check on, but it's still sitting on my shelf for reference. It's kind of impossible to move away from it at this point and I find myself using it even on my blog, which is probably pretty ridiculous of me. I had a teacher in college that actually made us "memorize" and take quizzes on individual letters in the stylebook - which was so strange. It's a reference book, dammit. Why the hell would you force a kid to try to memorize it? Can't believe I paid a few grand for those credits. My apologies for my typo. Killing me to not go fix it.

I really, really hated those yellow jerseys and just assumed the masses felt the same way, so I'm surprised so many of you want them back. Best color I can think of to describe that particular shade was "urine." That shade was just plain awful. Besides, this isn't the University of Oregon - how many specialty/alternate jerseys do we need? The stupid extra hats the MLB mandates every season are bad enough, IMO

Canceled is the AP Stylebook correct spelling. Too many years as a journo student mean that's the only source I trust on spelling. I was always told its GrAy in America and GrEy in England and that's who you remember it.

Really upset I missed this and Rebirth Brass Band this year. We don't get them through here that often and I really miss getting to see them often. Lived in New Orleans for 6 years and saw some amazing music, so I really miss it at times up here.

Craigslist has a whole Part Time Job category. I've yet to run into something that wasn't legit - as long as you use you're head, they're just folks looking for help that aren't wanting to spend money on advertising.

Oh pretendastronaut, I'm jealous. I'd love to eat at Alinea - much less for New Years. I imagine that cost a pretty penny, but what an experience. That's the sort of thing we try to find here in Milwaukee, but nothing comes close to what Alinea is doing. I'm retroactively, gastronomically jealous.

Did anyone ever have success with Prince TTM? I have an old ESPN magazine I tried to get signed many times over the years but was never successful. I'd really like to have a sig on it to hang in our Wo"man" cave. If I send it with a SASE and ask him to send it back even if he doesn't choose to sign it, what are my chances of actually getting it back? I realize this may all be dependent on where he ends up...

Have a cousin's name in the Christmas exchange and don't know what to get him. He's a big fan and has all the tees and bobbles a guy could want. I have to spend about $15 or $20 and I was hoping someone on here might have an idea or suggestion for an usual Brewers gift.
