Gomez will be the starter but Morgan will be the 4th outfielder and give Gomez some days off. He also provides a very nice insurance policy in case Gomez plays like he usually does.. I like it a lot. Morgan can get on base and could bat early in the lineup if needed. I am not really buying that he will be a distraction in the clubhouse - yet. If his problems were related to his teammates and distractions inside of the clubhouse instead of going after the other team I would be more concerned. -

Usually I would brush this one off because it doesnt appear to be too bad, but you never know when talking about a pitcher's arm. I am really hoping to hear good news on this in the next few days.

Carlos Gonzalez probably the most impressive statistical season of anyone last year. No way Gomez comes close to that. I really feel Gomez will finally understand how he needs to play the game to be successful, but he will never be a high average or OBP guy.. .265/.310 -

Too bad. But really should not end up being a huge deal.. He will probably miss the first two weeks or so of the season, which we will completely forget about mid-season. While it is too bad he wont be able to get his work in as this is his first full year as a starter, it sounds like he should be able to work with the pitchers some and get to know how they work. -

On a blue jays forum, some of the guys were saying that they would be sick if it was anything but lawrie, gamel and a pitcher... No one wants to give guys up, but you have to give in order to get.. GMs have a lot better idea of value than any of us and I am sure Melvin took everything into account. We got a high end pitcher that we desperately needed, I am feeling pretty good.

That is great news. I always liked Marcum and I never really knew why (saw him pitch pretty rarely). I had had him on my fantasy baseball team each of the past three years because I always thought he was a pretty solid pitcher.. Curious who we gave away...

I am trying to be patient with Zaun.. I know he has gotten robbed a few times.. but cant say I am a huge fan so far a DP there is really frustrating..
