  1. What I liked about it was the interviews with all the people that were sitting right around Bartman. I had never really heard from those people. I also thought it is fascinating that the guy that gathered the ball after it deflected off of Bartman was paid $100,000 (or whatever it was) for the ball and nobody knows who that guy is.
  2. Borussia Mochengladbach is where Michael Bradley plays for a German squad. Otherwise you might look into playing with a squad near where you're going to be in Germany/Austria.
  3. Anything by Michael Bolton...I celebrate the man's entire catalog.
  4. I'm a little late to the party, so I know some of these might have been discussed already: Black Dynamite - Very funny movie. The intentional snafus and most of the dialogue is great. Zombieland - As stated earlier there a some great scenes including a tremendous cameo, but other parts were very long and drawn out. Cannibal: The Musical: Very disappointing for a Trey Parker film but it has some great moments.
  5. "At the same time, they seem to have less movement on their fastball- although the good sinkerballers/heavy fastballers generally have an over the top type delivery." I generally agree with the over-the-top vs. three-quarters, but there is one major exception: Greg Maddux. He had a tradtional over the top arm slot and had some movement on his two-seam that was amazing.
  6. Exactly. I really don't feel that simply changing a grip will affect a fastball's movement per se. I've always considered 'movement' as more as 'tail' not sink. Some guys just have movement on their fastballs naturally due likely to physical things such as arm slot, release, etc., and for whatever reason lefties seem to have more than righties.I disagree a bit. I've taught a few kids to throw an "amatuer" two-seamer. (I say amatuer because I can't correlate it to a minor/major league level). The main imperative was pressure on the ball and length of the kids fingers to produce some movement rather than a straight even four seam.
  7. It was mentioned before, but I'll say it again in regards to judging players. The parks before the 30s were HUGE. Take a look at the all-time leaders for triples and you'll see that most of them are pre-1930. Homeruns were rare back then because most of them were of the in-the-park fashion.
  8. Check out that sweet Plymouth Duster!
  9. 91 and 92 were good years as well. In '92 we would have been in the playoffs with the expanded format. I still think the 1992 team is why Bud Selig pushed for the wild-card format.
  10. I think Fielder is going to take his talents to South Beach.
  11. With Rick Ankiel's injury last night, I was reminded of a issue I've always wondered what other people thought about. Is it ok to advance an extra base on someone's injury? I see it a lot when a line drive hits a pitcher or an outfielder collides with a wall and the runner just keeps running until someone finally picks up the ball and calls a timeout.
  12. GameCast is strange. Wasn't it just a full count? How can Rickie get caught stealing?
  13. Even Nolan Ryan is a little worried about Ian Snell's pitch count
  14. Does the Pirates manager pay attention to the game? Last night it looked like he was reading a book in the dugout, and now it looks like Snell is going to throw 130 pitches this game/
  15. Buster Olney wrote about it as well. Imagine Reggie Jackson or some of the other power lefties hitting in this stadium instead of Old Yankee Stadium . edit: I wonder if this means the Yankees will pursue every left handed power-hitter they can find. Midseason trade for Dunn perhaps so he can hit 50 HRs in the second half of the year.
