  1. I'm trying to work a Crew/Yankee game into my NYC trip at the end of June, does anybody know why the times of the games for that series are "TBD?" And/or when those game times will be announced? I was hoping that the game on Thursday June 30th would be a night game, but seeing as how we have a game in Minnesota the next night, I'm thinking it will be an afternoon game?
  2. Yessss, way to hang in there Braunie. Now lets keep the foot on the gas here and get Maholm outta here.
  3. Trading players like Hoffman, IMO, would not send a good message to the fan base. With the division up for grabs and no "solid" in-house replacement, I can't imagine that the pros outweigh the cons in a situation like that. I agree that with our favorable second half schedule and our history of a lineup that is known to get hot, I feel like we can easily get on a roll post all-star break.
  4. My co-workers kept me updated throughout the weekend on the flooding situation, and as many of you know it is way worse than first reported. Our grounds crew break room/locker room was devistated. Water was approx. 3 feet high in our locker room and break room, thus making anything that was 3 feet or lower virtually useless. Just spoke with a buddy that is there currently and we will be ready to go for tonight's game, but will be working with the bare minimum.
  5. Is that suppose to be typed in blue? Personally I think that the demands were a little bit too much. Like they mentioned in the article, maybe if he was more respectful he would have actually got what he was asking for.
  6. That is a very interesting way of looking at it, joepepsi. I haven't really thought of it that way but you are correct, great defense, work ethic, and of course some pop at the plate. During almost every one of his at bats I can't help but sing "Kissed by a Rose" by Seal. I have some of my fellow grounds crew buddies doing the same, I think he is Seal's long lost brother!
  7. sour skittles with beer milk with pb & j
  8. Lincecum is from Seattle so he is used to crappy weather and lots of rain. IIRC, in the beginning of the season last year the Giants and the Dodgers played a rain soaked game where Bochy and Toree pulled the starters but Boachy had Timmy come in for relief in the 4th inning. The Giants took some heat for that decision, but it all worked out. So, I would have to guess that this kind of weather makes things an even bigger mismatch.
  9. There is in fact a "wild card" banner now up in the stadium. We had our beginning of the season grounds crew meeting on saturday and we went out and checked on the field after our meeting was over. I for one like the banner, IIRC it is up next to a "1982" banner.
  10. Yes I think they were, I was watching it with my friend and observed the same thing. It makes you wonder...haha
  11. I cannot wait for my roomate to buy 09, and I have been trying to finish up our season in 08 first. Does anybody know if franchises can be transferred from 08 to 09 for PS3?
  12. how bout 91-71, playoffs baby!
  13. My friends and I have been trying to come up with something that also is relatively cheap, yet still "cool." We were thinking about going as the racing sausages, but that seems like a bit of a stretch now, considering we are still costume-less with only a few days to go. So I think I may just borrow an idea from The Office and go as a "3 hole punch version of myself" ala Jim, in the Halloween episode from The Office from a few seasons ago. I guess if you are not an Office fan then it would not be as funny, but regardless it is cheap-- it only involves 3 paper circles taped on a white dress shirt with a tie. Simple, inexpensive and semi-clever!
  14. I agree that Hardy would be somewhat of a waste at 2nd considering his arm and if moved should be to 3rd, but Escobar would be even more of a waste at 2nd considering he is already considered gold glove caliber at SS and has a magnificent arm. I agree completely, Hardy to 2nd would be a waste. I say move Hardy to 3rd(b/c of his cannon for an arm, and above average defense) and keep the gold glove potential in Escobar at SS. As for weeks, I wouldn't be opposed to keep him around for one more shot, as long as he is NOT our leadoff hitter. As a prospect, he was coveted for his power, not for his ability to be a leadoff hitter. So why not drop him down in the lineup where he doesn't have to concentrate on doing all of the things that a leadoff hitter has to do, and he can concentrate more on his natural ability and power--things he excelled at in college .
  15. well I'm scheduled 8-4 tomorrow, so I'm hoping that our boss lets us leave early (i.e. sometime before or at 2). Since I work on the brewers grounds crew, I would assume that we will be done well before the first pitch(fingers crossed). If not, I hope we can at least watch the game on the scoreboard while we continue to work on the field.
  16. I thought it was grrrreat! I don't know if thats because I consider myself a huge Office junkie or the fact that I've been waiting (for what seems like) forever for this season to start, but I also think it was one of the best episodes to-date. Definitely did not see the Jim/Pam engagement coming when it did, that was a pleasant surprise. Michael growing that goatee to bel like Ryan was amusing; speaking of Ryan, I was also surprised to see him back so soon. I loved it when Dwight took all the junk food out of the vending machine, and replaced it with fruit---classic Dwight for sure. Also Dwight growing the goatee at the end was hilarious. I'll be interested to see how the whole Andy/AngelaDwight love triangle continues to play out... either way, it just keeps getting better and better.
  17. Here you can find the details of Cam's, Kendall's, Soup's contracts for next year, etc. http://mlbcontracts.blogs...01/milwaukee-brewers.html
  18. I would be very interested in a Rodgers jersey.
  19. Regardless of your personal opinion of Ben Sheets, the fact that he has been pitching through the pain and even has had an "injection" in the past has got to say something.... What that something is, is open for interpretation--is this a sign that he is tougher than some think, or a direct result of his contract year?
  20. I have mixed feelings on the new format. I used to like the gary and cliff show, I felt like they complimented each other quite well. I'm not sold on cliff having his own show, and the "big show" is growing on me a little bit. I think its just going to take a while to get used to the changes, but I do find myself listening to the D List (am 540) more often in the mornings now, as opposed to cliff.
  21. if you could send pics to witkowi3@uwm.edu, it would be greatly appreciated!
  22. Dale paying homage to Ned with the lineup out of the hat? I sure hope so, the lineup out of a hat was exactly what I was rooting for!
  23. Why not have Dale pick the lineup out of a hat? It worked for the Yankees back in the day, what is the worst that can happen? (still not sure if I want this font in blue or not)
