  1. What boggles my mind is the complete absence of leadership on this so-called veteran squad. At some point, you would have thought (hoped) that a few of the guys would have said we need to stop this, NOW. Why hasn't there been a closed-door meeting? Players only. Something, anything to light a fire under this squad? Oh, right, that might undercut Nervous Nedley's "fear not, all is well" mantra. Cause that's working sooooo well.
  2. Those guys make all hit flyouts, but they'll be in there grinding and battling.
  3. I'm with you, crewcrazy. Yeah, it would be nice to have gone 6-2 on this homestand so far rather than the opposite. But the bottom line is we're still 3 games up with only 17 to go after tonight. For everybody moaning about the choke that's certain to happen, ask yourself this. Would you rather be 3 up with 17 to play or 3 down? As for all the pressure, why is the pressure on the Brewers so much more than that facing the Cubs, Mets, Phillies, and Cards right now??? Oh, it's because it's the same. I'd be much more worried if this was the first time the bats went silent all year. They did around Boston, they did around the Cubs home series, everytime they've responded. They will again. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Dumb comment of the night from Rock: Crowd is quietest it's been in awhile. Well, what has the team done to get them off their hands?
  4. Suppan looks very uncomfortable out there, don't know if it's the heat or what, seems very fidgety. Better get straightened out quick though.
  5. The biggest disappointment to me is seeing Kendall in there for the 98th game in a row (or so it feels). Other than the hit Saturday afternoon, he really seems to be having a hard time at the plate. Why not Rivera, Ned? One game a week to keep Kendall fresh for September/October is really not too much to ask.
  6. Anyone else think Sheets is just trying to hard to assert himself as "the man" since CC got here? It seems like he's overthinking his pitches, and just doesn't look comfortable on the mound. Of course, with our RISP in the toilet, he's probably figuring he can't afford to give up many runs either. Had a feeling this might've been a good day to get out of the house and away from the TV.
  7. CC is a workhouse and no doubt will want the complete game. If Torres came on and blew it, everyone would scream why we pulled CC. He's looking good, it ain't broke, don't fix it.
