  1. If CC signed with the Giants, then we would face him on opening day next year.
  2. Wilson is better than any other option we have on our roster. Atkins is better than any option on the team besides moving hardy to third. But with Atkins, Hardy could play second. Cain is the best available pitcher that isn't a free agent (CC). How would you feel about getting Randy Winn instead of Taveras?
  3. Wilson had 41 saves last year for a terrible team. Taveras had 68 steals last year, but did only post a .308 obp. Your point about atkins is valid but I would say most players play better at home. I would have put Hawpe in instead of Taveras but I doubt they want to part with him.
  4. cc signs with the giants thus they will be more willing to deal Cain. Rockies announced today they want to trade matt holiday. 3 team deal with San Francisco and Colorado goes as follows... Milwaukee gets Cain and Brian Wilson from SF as well as Atkins and Taveras from COL SF gets Matt Holiday, Bill Hall, Todd Helton Colorado gets Prince, Weeks, and top prospect from SF Brewers decline Cameron's optio and lineup would be as follows... Cf- taveras 2b- hardy Lf- Braun 3b- atkins Rf- hart 1b- gamel Ss- escobar C- Kendall P- Cain, YoGa, parra, bush, soup And we'd have a reputable closer as well as dumping hall's contract I realize this would probably never happen but what do you think?
  5. Gwynn can do something Weeks can't...bunt for a hit!
  6. Why is that? Tony Gwynn deserves a chance to play. He bats lefty, steals bases, and isn't a home-run or nothing hitter like most of the lineup this year. If they aren't going to give him a chance then he deserves to be traded.
  7. If I'm not mistaken, the Brewers have a club option on Cameron for '09, I would decline that and let Tony Gwynn play in center. Re-sign CC 6 years $120 million. Let Sheets go. Promote Escobar and let Gamel start the year in AAA. Move Hardy to 3rd. If anyone struggles to start the season, promote Gamel in the same way Braun was promoted in '07. Let Weeks have one more year to prove himself, but don't let him leadoff. Re-sign Durham as insurance for Weeks. I think McClung could be an ideal closer (high 90's fastball, good movement on breaking pitches).Roster goes as follows... CF-Gwynn SS-Escobar LF-Braun 1B-Fielder 3B-Hardy RF-Hart 2B-Weeks C-Kendall Bench Kapler Nelson Hall Dillon Durham Starters CC, Gallardo, Parra, Bush, Suppan Bullpen Shouse, Stetter, Coffey, Torres, Villanueva, Riske, McClung
