  1. I agree with most of the projected rosters. However, I think we can get ourselves a true #1 for Fielder. I like Gallardo a ton, but I see him as an excellent #1B or #2 starter. He just doesn't strike a whole lot of fear into me, as a great #1 should.
  2. If we get a bag of baseballs or a twenty for Hoffman, we should do it. Its hard to blame one person for a crappy season, especially this one, but those blown saves early in the season certainly didn't help us.
  3. I hope we see a brawl soon. Opposing pitchers are getting away with this stuff too much, and yet, no one has done a thing about it. Macha has no fire, he's too cool and collected and cerebral. We don't need Nedly kind of Fire, but we really need a brawl soon, or else pitchers are just gonna keep plunking our players without end. This is ridiculous. Screw winning or losing or if having a brawl helps or hurts either, its about pride here. This stuff has to end, NOW!
  4. Branyan's too useful to possibly miss playing time. We need a 5th OF specifically for this kind of thing. Someone who can jump in and start a brawl, if needed.
  5. The rarest thing I've seen at a baseball game is a relief pitcher hitting a pinch hit home run. Brooks Kieschnick against the Atlanta Braves off of Jung Bong on August 6, 2003. Oddly enough, Royce Clayton of all people had a four hit game that night as well. I'm so glad that this franchise is long past the need for people like Royce *shudder* Clayton.
  6. I'm amazed at Fielder's stats this year. He would have to go on a massive tear to break 100 RBIs. That we're still in the top 5 offenses in the league is astonishing to me. If we hold on to Prince, he might score more runs than he drives in. What this team desperately needs is quality pitching, which has been a struggle. Its been a bummer of a year already for me, we've had some HIGH highs like the Pittsburgh series, but the lows have been gut wrenching. We're most likely not going anywhere, we're perpetually 10 back, and there is no way we can match the Cardinals or the Reds pitching. We have an ace who I feel is more a great #2, a decent #3/4 in Wolf, and then question marks the rest of the way down. I've lost track of who has made what start when, this season. We need two or three half way decent starters to match the Wainwright and Carpenter combo, not to mention the Reds out of nowhere staff. We also need two quality middle relievers. I think Fielder could help ease our problems with the pitching, and I think our offense will still work Ok. We're lucky all sorts of bad contracts are done after this year. I hope Melvin doesn't make a Suppan kind of mistake again.
  7. This year has been a funhouse of horrors so far. Ethier is some kind of Johnny on the Spot.
  8. I hate the idea of Suppan wasting any of our young pitchers' time. I'd rather watch Narveson or Parra struggle than watch a slow throwing veteran at the end of his rope, post a sure 5.00 ERA every fifth day. We've seen this before, he has a few good starts, but then a chain of blow ups and boos. But, I'm not sure if letting Suppan go would be the best for our money situation IE resigning Fielder. Would there be any penalties for the outright releasing of Suppan?
  9. Escobar is the home grown prospect, he pans out at best to be a lead off hitter, and I think he should get the first opportunity to prove himself there. Gomez can be tried if Escobar doesn't work out.
  10. I'm all for batting Escobar leadoff, even if he doesn't have a stellar OBP. If Rickie is back in form and his wrists stay healthy, he should be batting second or fifth. I like his speed and OBP at both positions in the order; Ryan to drive him in easier, Prince we have a fast person batting behind him. If he ends up batting fifth, bat McGehee second. If Rickie gets hurt again, bat Counsell second. Bat Gomez at eighth or ninth until he proves he can put up a decent OBP.
  11. Do you have the OS install disk? If so, if you don't have a ton of important documents or photos on there, you would be best just formatting the thing.
  12. I've walked by the Afghani restaurant a thousand times in Madtown, anyone ever been there? What does Afghani food entail?
  13. Man oh man, that is one of the creepiest things I have ever seen.
  14. I think this is a great great move. We got the same Defense we had in Cameron, plus more speed. Gomez is a young guy, probably hasn't figured it all out yet. With Rickie being healthy to start the beginning of next season, we have the potential to move Rickie down to 5 or 6, bump up Gomez to 2 or 1 if he figures out how to get on base more often. The best part of this, is that we have much more money now to resign Fielder to a big extension, or, we can go out and throw some money around at pitching. Now, if Melvin trades McGeehee, I'll be pissed, but not yet. There is also the possibility of Hart getting moved for pitching, Braun shifting over to RF, and Gamel being put in LF. Our D will probably be at the same place it was last year, possibility better with a full year of Escobar. I didn't think we would get much for Hardy, to be honest. I wasn't expecting a guy like Gomez though; this is a great move.
  15. You're a judge, vaccinator? Thank god for that! And thank god for judicial discretion! If it's a second conviction, what does the THC charge get knocked down to?
  16. No kidding. Talk about totally hypocritical laws. Drunk driving is so much worse than someone possessing weed, even if they're driving. This is totally, completely, monumentally INSANE!
  17. Let me get this straight, get caught with pot twice, and you get thrown in prison? Holy Crap! What is this, a muslim country or something?
  18. Man if you wear a hat like this do you get a free bowl of soup? "Looks good on you!" *Turns away rolls eyes, opens mouth*
  19. I'm shocked! Appalled! Shocked!
  20. Yeah, this Chuck guy sounds like he doesn't understand things. Who is Scott Bartell? The name seems familiar, but when I googled it, I didn't get a definitive result. What does the reference mean?
  21. Who is this Chuck guy? What game was he watching? Anyone could miss that throw, espiecally a starter pressed into a relief role, who hadn't gotten his normal reps and time on the mound. I think you need to reevaluate how seriously you take this guy, thefyl.
  22. I've cut back on the Panamanian Mountain Pee a lot. It doesn't help though, that I've switched from that to coffee. I gotta have my caffeine fix. Caffeine is easily the most addictive drug there is. Far more than alcohol, THC, or nicotine. That stuff is so prevalent that it's nearly impossible to stop taking it.
