I think that the Brewers are going to have to give him an out clause after 2 to 3 years in order to compete with the larger markets.

One course that has not been mentioned yet is Hawk's View in Lake Geneva. It as good as any other course in that area. Just south of Kenosha in Ill. is Shepard's Crook and Thunderhawk. I really enjoyed playing both a couple of years ago. One course that is not in the Milwaukee area that I would highly recommend is Timberstone in Iron Mountain Michigan. It was ranked 5 stars by Golf Digest a few years ago.

Congrats to Brian for being the first to call for the DFA of C.C. Overall, I like the move. I am a Buccaneer fan and look at the Brewers moves with what Tampa did in the '90s and earlier this decade. Tampa was built through smart drafting, but that core only got them so far. Ultimately, they moved picks (4 1's and 2 2's plus millions) for Keyshawn and Gruden in an effort to reach the Super Bowl. They realized that the window is open for so long and did what it took for a shot. It may not work out for the Brewers like it did for my Bucs, but with the uncertain future of Ben and Prince, I think the time is now to make a run.

I think that the front office has been laying the groundwork for resigning Prince for a little while now. LaPorta may have been the best power bat, but he was selected well before anyone had projected (he did fit a need and signed for roughly slot value). Gagne may have been the mythical $7 million closer that some thought was available in free agency, but we pay $10 million with incentives. If I remember correctly, Prince kept telling Scott how great it was in Milwaukee now and that helped point Gagne to the Brewers. This last move, I believe, helped Boras save face after the Arod disaster. The Brewers are showing that they are willing to do business with Boras in the right circumstances. I feel that if Prince puts his foot down that Boras doesn't want to go through another Arod type situation. As long as the Brewers keep winning and showing that they are willing to spend, I can see this mini trend continuing. Look for the Brewers to draft a falling Boras player with one of the sandwich picks this year and overpay the slot value. Maybe in the end this won't mean much to Boras and he will take Prince to the open market. I think that the Brewers are gambling that overpaying a few million over the next few years for Scott's clients will in the end save them $20 or so million on Prince's overall contract by not hitting the open market. I believe (and I am assuming the Brewers) that Ryan Howard's contract will be the starting point for Prince. The Brewers will not win in a bidding war with NY (both), Boston, Detroit, etc... so, they need to do what they can to develop a good relationship with Boras and a winning atmosphere that Prince doesn't want to leave.

I just got my r7 425 (with Diamana Blue Board shaft) the other day. I have only used it so far on the range, but I love it. I can't wait to unleash it in a couple of days. If you live close to Mukwonago, Gooden's Sporting Goods has the 425 and 460s for $199. I believe that they have the Fujikura ReAx shafts. If you are looking for higher end shafts that are factory installed, Ebay is a great place to look.

I watched the replay at mlb.com. I don't have any problem with what I saw. Maybe those whose saw it live got different replays that showed him looking too long at the results of the swing. I would find it surprising for anyone not to look or pause at a shot like that in a heated rivalry. I think that if we would build some refineries in this country you would see a large drop in the gas price. We haven't built any since the seventies. Our energy consumption isn't going down anytime soon (and neither is China's).

I would say that you take him. How often is it that the Brewers are in a position to take an impact catcher? We are going to be dealing with Boras soon enough with Prince.

I believe Atlanta would be leaning towards keeping him since Glavine stayed with the Mets.

Do the Brewers have any picks that would be considered a tough sign left? I know Weeks has a commitment to Miami, but his family's opinion with the Crew is got to be at an all time high at this point. Also, with the Nats signing their pick immediately, I don't think Braun will much of an issue either. I would also like to thank the many posters (too many to list) that bring the information on the picks (potential and actual). This has definitely helped me gain level of knowledge of our system that I would not have had by just reading Drew and Tom. Edit: Now that I reread some earlier posts, I see that SoCal is pointing to a pair HS players in the 9th and 13th.

I thought that it was widely known that Prince doesn't have much of a relationship with his dad anymore. I can't figure out why Bill was continually asking if he talked to dad.
