  1. .....because he swings at every pitch? He's probably confused.HA!
  2. i despise everything about carpenter. round headed buffon. i'm going to watch the upton hr off him to cheer me up
  3. pyrrhic vitory http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. we escaped with a win despite this umps strike zone.
  5. did anyone notice that weeks didn't grimace AT ALL. not that i saw anyways, combine that with no break and i am holding out hope. i've sprained my ankle dozens of times in basketball and every time i've squirmed and grimaced. now i know weeks is tough but his face was perfectly calm! i'm hoping for the best.
  6. i'm already mad at melvin and nothing has happened yet. if green doesn't come up, you'd think he's on the list, which is absolutely terrible. if someone has brewers feed please update us.
  7. i hope you're right but i see no indication on management's part that this is the case.
  8. Yea, besides his incredible defense and speed on the bases, Gomez also just seems to be a great teammate. I know that he's frustrated many Brewers fans since we traded for him, but one thing that never can be said is that he doesn't always play as hard as possible, and he really seems to care a lot about being able to help the team in any way possible. Carlos frustrated me quite a bit early in the year when Roenicke was misusing Gomez in the two hole and with his brainfarts at times on the bases, but as the season has gone along, i found myself developing a real fondness for him as a player on the field, how hard he always plays, and how great he seems to interact with his teammates. Assuming he doesn't get to big of a raise next season, i'd be perfectly fine rolling with a Plush/Gomez platoon against next year. Before this year started, i never thought CF could be the strength it's been, especially since Morgan got off the DL. agree with everything said. it was a thing of beauty to watch him run and loved his contagious passion, which has value.
  9. I know Roenicke's comments may just be managerial speak and bland PR, but I really don't like the way this is being handled. Co-closers is being blasted everywhere and reiterated by RRR. What in the world makes him think that will work? Axford has closed 20 in a row and all of a sudden he is a co-closer? They SHOULD just come out and say, "Listen, Axford is our closer. k-Rod will get some games to close due to Axford being overworked but John Axford is out closer." Why even mess around talking about co-closer. Killing me.
  10. Absolutely...at least it is just such a horrible move it can't be. If Melvin did this he should be fired immediately. What is the backup plan at first with no Gamel? A Kotsay like late30s veteran.
  11. I know there are have been assurances that it won't be Thornburg or our "top guys" but to Melvin I'm thinking he believes we only worry about 3-4 guys (Gamel, Rogers, Green maybe)...I'm still really worried. Please do NOT let it be: Green, Gindl, Heckathorn, Morris, Scarpetta, Peralta, really anyone. I just don't like it. I know a lot of guys care not for amorphous "chemistry" but the thought of axford getting screwed up is really worrying. and pressure on RRR to insert k rod after one or two Ax blown saves.
  12. agreed. every start you think "this is the one where he turns it around." so isappointing.
  13. every time i see mike adams numbers over the past few years i wonder what the circumstances were that we let him get away? i don't remember this geremi gonzalez you speak of. was adams struggling at the time?
  14. it's just going to be interesting to see how far roenicke will push it. how long of a leash nieves has. i find myself hoping nieves does bad because i know one dribbler of a base hit will allow roenicke to say "see, there we go! he's swinging better."
  15. yeah, but hopefully it is a bittersweet end...a ride into the playoffs riding his contract year bat.
