If nothing else, we are making Vogelsong work long counts. He's over 40 pitches already (not that their bullpen is anything easy to hit either).

I'm not going to make excuses for Greinke, because it's pretty obvious that he gets too much of the plate sometimes when he shouldn't. However, it's going to be very hard to pin this loss on him if we don't come back. 7 strong innings with only 2 ERs is good no matter what the circumstances. That being said, I really think that if he's going to bring the value to the team we thought he would, he needs to start winning some of these pitcher's duels.

This is the Greinke I think we all thought we would see this year. What has me the most bullish on the Brewers for the rest of the season is knowing that we haven't seen anything near his best (not to mention how terrible Casey and Yuni have been) and we're still in first place. I get the feeling that Zack could rattle off 6-8 wins in a row if he just gets a W.

I can't believe how darn stubborn our manager is? I know Hawkins didn't have it tonight, so good job getting him out of there, but how about having Saito ready to face Helton? You are a complete idiot, RRR and you're getting exactly what your poor managing deserves.

On pace for 86 wins at the AS Break. I'm guessing we'll need to improve that to about 88 or 89 to win the Division. A couple of small tweaks can add 2-3 wins in the second half, but I'm very happy to be tied for 1st with a 49-43 record. In most divisions we'd be a couple back at least.

Glad I left the board for a while. I was thinking if I went away, maybe we could work some magic. Didn't expect to see it turn out exactly that way, but I guess T Plush and Kotsay were the heroes of the homestand!

I know Rolen is a very good 3b, but since when does he have hops too. Twice today he's had to make a great jumping catch.

And if that turns out to be the case (we don't have what's needed to make those upgrades), then play Wilson every day at SS (better glove at least) and make Counsell a coach and bring up someone from the minors with a decent bat. The lhp will have to be through trade though it looks.
