  1. Man, if Saito can start contributing I do think that's going to make a huge difference in our bullpen. Call me crazy, but I feel like all 6 guys we have out there right now can help the team win. Kam Loe being used in poor matchup situations not withstanding.
  2. Better be someone up in the pen. This has all the makings of a Narvy meltdown inning. Edit: That was a big development as I typed the above! I'd rather be wrong.
  3. When did Corey get so slow? Maybe I just haven't noticed it until now, but jeez... first he can't even make that grounder deep in the hole a close play, and then he turns what usually is a long single into a long double that scores a runner from first!
  4. But at least he can RAKE! Man, does he scream DH though.
  5. Can we stop the "Prince is actually a pretty good defensive firstbaseman" talk from the likes of Schroeder and many in the national media now?
  6. Great inning, Narv-Dog... that's the way to start after a disappointing outing
  7. What a great bench to turn to. I know I'm just piling on here but man, it would be nice to have some legitimate options off the bench
  8. That first pitch to Casey is a pitch he used to crush, that he's now been fouling off or missing altogether for 2+ months.
  9. I want Gamel to do well so badly, so that RR has to start playing him. He really would give us another big bat in this sometimes always punchless bottom of the order. Unfortunately he keeps hitting balls hard for outs (not counting that one that he obviously just missed and flied out). edit: used the wrong word the first time.
  10. OT: Apparently Holliday appreciates Prince's invite to the Derby. 2 bombs already. 5-1 Cards.
  11. At least with Casey I still have a glimmer of hope he has the talent to turn it around. But the bottom line is: The Brewers cannot win the Division with Yuni in the everyday lineup. He brings terrible range and no bat to the team.
  12. I'm laughing only because it's more fun than crying.
  13. I don't think falling behind tonight was high on anyone's Wish List... come on Wolf
  14. Nice range again Betancourt. I can't remember the ball going under and around a SS glove so many times.
  15. Of course we get about 4 questions of RR's press conference and not 1 question about his use of Loe. I will assume the question gets asked but we won't be able to hear it I guess.
  16. Jesus really? Just because we are in first is no excuse for not maximizing our talent. The decisions Ron and Doug have made have cost us games. I agree. That's exactly the kind of attitude I referenced before when talking about the difference between our media and fans letting them off the hook for terrible decisions and play and those in a larger market making sure that the manager and GM are held 100% accountable for the results. I enjoy the season and games as much as anyone, but that's still no excuse for not taking advantage of your pieces the best that you can.
  17. And I know they say momentum is only as good as the next day's pitcher, but you can't tell me this Arizona team won't feel very confident at the plate the rest of the series.
  18. Loe has been brutal all year. Axford has been lights out until today, and by the time he came in, all the momentum was against us and I had a feeling we weren't going to win this one. And in the 7th, Hawkins gave up what, his 2nd run of the season. RR continues to run Loe out there against everyone in the 8th, even though he can't get out lefties. That's the bottom line.
  19. Unreal. I almost can't believe what's happening. I was at the game Saturday night... it's like coming from the absolute highest of highs and then 2 straight days of incredible lows. It's really surreal if you ask me.
  20. I think he was thinking the same thing after he caught it, because he kinda shook his head.
  21. And now our bats look done with no momentum at all. This is so painful to watch.
  22. Problem is, I don't believe they will. This crap would not be allowed to continue by fans or media in a Boston, Chicago, New York market. This is part of the problem with being in the "nice Midwest". Colin Cowherd actually had a great segment talking about this a few weeks back and how the big market and East Coast teams are better because more is demanded of them by fans and media. Now, granted the payroll and potential to make moves is easier there too, but it still doesn't excuse our media and fans from calling out a manager for terrible decision making.
  23. I keep hoping beyond all hope that these terrible outings would at least convince RR that Loe is not an 8th inning guy... but NO, that doesn't even happen. We just blow games and still don't learn our lessons. You could fry an egg on my head right now I'm sure
  24. That was absolutely brutal by Prince... and there's no excuse for our defense. But Yo cannot become an elite pitcher until he learns not to walk guys so often.
