  1. Yuni Betancourt could play short...
  2. Yeah, and their owner can pretty much afford to pay off that entire contract right now. This is Detroit buying a championship within the next two years for $215 million.
  3. I completely agree with giving Hart some time at 1B. We shouldn't expect Gamel to play all 162, so what's the harm in using Hart as his backup? That seems to be the way to get the best possible lineup out on the field on Gamel's off days. Except for maybe moving Aramis to 1B for a few and slipping Taylor Green in at 3rd.
  4. I've never killed a man, that I can remember
  5. Honestly, without spoiling anything, the writing, script, and voice acting in Arkham City is head and shoulders above almost anything out there in the video game world right now. Once I tire of Arkham City, I have Uncharted 1, 2, and 3 all ready to roll. You're going to completely revise that first statement after you play Uncharted 1, 2, and 3. I think maybe the reason I was disapointed in AC was because I had just played Uncharted 2 and then went to Uncharted 3 after.Nah. I've played the Uncharted and Arkham City, and AC gets the nod for sure. Uncharted 3 isn't much different from the previous games. AC is head and shoulders better than AA. Don't get me wrong, both franchises are good, but Uncharted is just Indiana Jones as a game. The Batman games are great super hero epics. And the ending to AC was the best I've ever seen in any game.
  6. I bet the commissioner can do whatever he wants as long as it's not challenged by the owners or the players union. And I can't imagine either of those groups would like to see the reining MVP suspended.
  7. I think we should stick with the straight platoon but creatively use defensive subs. For example, in late innings, shift Nyjer over to RF and bring in Gomez to play CF. I think it may be smart to use Taylor Green and Cesar Izturis similarly in the infield. We have good defense on the bench so we can use it to make up for the sketchy D in the starting lineup.
  8. I'd really miss Nyjer Morgan if he were traded. I disagree that he became too obnoxious - I think he was a unique, fun presence for this team and he can continue to be that way. I'd also have no problem playing Aoki in CF and using Plush/Gomez as defensive replacements in late innings. He wouldn't be the first CF for a contending team with a sub-par throwing arm (Johnny Damon, for example).
  9. That's a lot of deferred money. Great for next year's payroll, not so much for two years down the road. This is very much a "win-now" type move.
  10. I like Taylor Green too, but he's not a big time power hitter. Ramirez is. Green will be a good piece of the bench, on track to take over 3rd when Ramirez moves positions or leaves. A McGehee/Gamel platoon at 1st seems to be a likely situation, barring a McGehee trade.
  11. Maybe he wants to leave the agency that represents Braun? Distance himself?
  12. I wonder how often this happens behind the scenes and is resolved without anyone outside knowing of it? This may be a routine thing that got blown out of proportion since it involved the most recent MVP. Yikes.
  13. This is the most depressing piece of sports news I've ever read.
  14. Simple. Because the dude can pitch.
  15. I like Gamel too. I also like Morales. I'd love to have them both.
  16. K-Rod is a great reliever. Just because he isn't the closer doesn't mean he's worth less money. His job is the same - get three outs without giving up the lead. His monetary value should be independent of the inning in which he's used. K-Rod is worth the money he'll get.
  17. Our team would be awesome if every position were first base!
  18. Defense is also a factor here. As he ages and loses mobility, he can move from CF to one of the corners and still be a plus defender. Fielder has nowhere to move to. It's a great bet that Kemp will be worth more to an NL team in 7-8 years than Prince will be.
  19. And if Braun has more balls hit to him than does Hart, it makes sense that he'd accrue more assists.
  20. It's too bad to see Cruz get flack for that play. Without his bat, Texas wouldn't have even been in that game.
  21. Its also hard to argue that Prince needs better protection than what he's getting. He has the second best OPS of any player in the series. Behind only Pujols, the best hitter in the game.
  22. How about we stick with the lineup that won us 96 games this season?
  23. It's not stupid to start your third best pitcher in a post season game, even if he's had a couple of rough ones. Sticking with Marcum is the right decision.
