Is there any reason in a September race, and you have an open roster spot, that you wouldn't sign and bring in the fastest guy possible. I would think there would be a situation later in games where a guy with blazing speed would become extremely useful for pinch running purposes. I know it sounds dumb but I would think that it would make more sense to get a guy like that instead a fourth lefty or whoever else they are bringing up for mop-up duty.
Looking back, it seems it was the perfect day for improving our playoff chances with the Braves, Giants, Dodgers, Reds, Cards, and Pirates all losing last night.
Totally agree, let him go into his next start confident. Send him out tired for the 4th time through the order, he gives up a couple, totally kill the mojo of his outing. It doesn't have to be like that. You could send him out for the 9th and pull him if a single baserunner is allowed before two outs are recorded. That's how I'd do it rather than living and dying by #100 pitches. I don't know enough about Fiers pitch count lately and if he has been stretched out out as of late to decide if 120ish pitches (which is what he would end up at in a best case scenario) would be worth the small chance of blowing a three run lead. As I say that Kemp is up.
No, it's on Lohse. Yeah he was in there longer than he should have been but he just didn't have it today. Luckily for us, those days have been few this year.
The Brewers were never the NL favorites. The Dodgers have been all year. I think it was Bovada that had the Brewers as the fifth most likely team to win the NL, and this was a couple weeks ago. You have me as saying that but those are not my words.
So you don't think DM did enough at the trade deadline. I agree 100%. Mark my words if we miss the playoffs due to this DM should be fired. We are the favorites up until this point and we should stay the favorites in the NL. I am indifferent towards what DM did at the deadline. I would have loved to see Morneau and what he could have brought depending on the price but I wanted no part of Lester or Price for the cost that I thought would come with them.

I am by no means a good looking guy so Neise can take this with a grain of salt but he looks like he got tricked into walking into a wall playing Marco Polo at some point.
