  1. Dontrelle Willis will be called up by the Reds to pitch on Sunday at Miller Park.
  2. Huge win. No chance on being swept, one win away from an ok series, two wins away from an awesome series, and you know the rest. Huge.
  3. A fan at a Rangers game dies when Josh Hamilton through a ball into the stands and he reached over and fell to his death. A couple notes... 1) Any chance Hamilton gets sued? I have seen odder/more frivolous lawsuits. 2) Anyway that this gets into his head? I am not saying this is his fault, it really isn't, but you know how the media is nowadays.
  4. http://www.grantland.com/...478/undervalued-sluggers I thought others might want to read it. Warning, it's a little longer.
  5. Good.....I really......really.....dislike......Jim Rome. I mean really. I really.....dislike.....Jim Rome.
  6. Near Crivitz.
  7. We're going up North for an extended weekend and the boat we usually used crapped out. Anyone know of a place that rents boats out and generally what do they cost? We are just looking to go tubing with it.
  8. Axford! The DBacks announcers were laughing at how filthy Axford was.
  9. These announcers are drier than eating 10 saltine crackers in a minute.
  10. I haven't read this whole thread, and I don't know if I want to, but I think there is something to be said for having a bit of confidence helping you. When I play basketball, softball, or golf there are days where I feel like I can hit anything. Other days, not so much and I think my performance and results are affected by it. I am no big leaguer, far from it, but if I can feel that from time to time in my backyard, on the course, or on the field, I am sure they can feel it to. Do I believe that they are "seeing it better" as Bill says? No, but I think a little confidence will go a little way. By the way, this wasn't to say that I can detect confidence, concentrating, or trying harder in others because I cannot. This was all based on how I feel when I play.

  12. Anyone else wonder if RR was hoping Betancourt's jammed finger would land him a DL spot?
  13. An all Brewer team, awesome for us, not so much for the rest of baseball.
  14. I have realistic expectations. I don't expect every player to be an all-star. I don't expect management to make quick decisions by they never do. I don't expect every pitcher to throw 7 innings of two hit ball. I realize that every player, even the best of them, has flaws. I try to remember there are 162 games left in the season. When I say I long for the days of 2005 that is in regards to this forum's posters not so much in terms of production I would like to see on the field. And yes Bucksman I do have low expectations, but they are of the constant whining from posters much like yourself who litters these forums day after day with negative posts. Unfortunately even with those low expectations, as a forum we are still not meeting those.
  15. I don't know what to think in terms of the McGehee/Green situation. I scoffed at that idea a month ago but he seems to almost be a black hole in the lineup. Either way, I am not sure a platoon is the best answer either.
  16. One good thing about losing consistently on the road and winning at home is that it saves you an inning on the pen consistently. They have saved a lot of innings this year.
  17. Spoken like a true small market fan with low expectations... I have realistic expectations. I don't expect every player to be an all-star. 18. Oy my god, the sky is falling. They might be out of first place by a game. There are weak links on the team and improvements could and should be made but the amount of chicken littles on this board is crazy. Makes me long for the days of 2005 when expectations weren't as high and people weren't as negative.
