Going back to the Weeks atbat. I usually don't mind, in fact I love it, players taking pitches but with a man on 3rd and less than 2 outs I wish players would punish the first pitch (usually a fastball) a little more. That isn't to say Weeks didn't have a good atbat, he just lined out and that's the breaks.

Would have been nice to have signed Jermile Weeks. Seems to be doing well in Oakland.

DFA him? Wow, I would think that might be drastic. If you want Green to start over him cool, but then wouldn't you want Casey off the bench at least?I'm not exactly serious, but I could care less if he ever plays for this team again. Why would you want a snail slow, no defense, no bat right hand hitter on the bench? I would want him on the bench because his history has indicated that he would have more pop than anyone else we would have plus he can play 3rd, 1st, and maybe 2nd in a pinch. I couldn't care less though if Betancourt was DFA'd.

I don't agree. I think the odds of Casey being safe are better than Kottaras getting a hit afterwards. Now there are other factors to consider (past balls, walks, pitch count, etc.) but I think it was worth the risk. It would have been cool if Yuni put more wood on the ball. Good plays by Weeks and a quick inning.

Certainly not apples to apples but it does not raise confidence in a medical staff. Because 3 years ago they didn't know the severity of Yo's injury while on the mound, and then because Marcum re-injured himself today? If your concern is based on different events 3 years apart, I'd say they're doing okay. To be fair I called for the heads of the medical staff on that day. So yes, I am still concerned that they aren't the most qualified people around. Harsh but in some jobs it's a one mistake and your out type of deal. Now as far as Marcum, I do not know anything so I am not going to judge. Hopefully everything will be kosher in the end.

Yo said he could and did pitch with an ACL injury too. Right, but that's not exactly apples to apples there. That was diagnosed on the mound, they didn't have MRIs at that point, or give him a work out. Hardly comparable. Certainly not apples to apples but it does not raise confidence in a medical staff.

I think I am in the minority as I am not really a fan of baseball unless the Brewers are playing. I went to an Oakland/Seattle game and was bored and left after 7 innings. I don't watch any games, even playoffs, that don't involve the Brewers. If I had to pick a team, maybe the Twins.
