  1. That was pretty damn athletic for a 37-year-old QB....
  2. I think because the safety rolled down anticipating the run and got in his way on the Davante motion which jammed him up. That question was more rhetorical than anything. I just don't like the guy. It's a really bad look. Jumping up and down and stomping your feet. I don't know if he was mad about the DB getting in his way or if the DB was supposed to switch on a motion like that, but that was a bad look. I'd really like to see Dillon in there on 1st and 2nd down, but...whatever.
  3. Tonyan got him on the edge there...
  4. I really thought MM had just gotten stale and he'd have success in Dallas. It's more and more clear he won just because we had 3-4 WR'ers who could win one on one and a QB who could put the ball wherever he wanted to. MLF has been awesome and exactly what Rodgers was asking for a couple of years ago.
  5. Aside from when they got caught in their base and they got a LB'er matched up on their WR'er giving Geoff two easy throws over the middle, there's nothing to indicate that he'll be able to come back. So a TD here with the Packers also getting the 1st poss of the 2nd half would be real big. Rodgers just being so patient and taking what's there so far.
  6. They really are. Jenkins takes Donald's bullrush and just snaps him to the ground. That was impressive, but Patrick has gotten some push in the running game. MLF really helps out the OL with his playcalling also.
  7. I think the first two series are going to be so big. This isn't really going out on a limb, but if the Packers can get their offense going right out of the gate and slow the Rams down, the Packers could roll. Having to force the Rams to pass, especially when they come out in the 2nd half. But I'll root for that and guess what I've been saying all week. Packers are in control, but it's not a high scoring game. Add another score and it'll be similar to Packers-Bears NFCCG.
  8. I think they should be guaranteed until they use up their eligibility. I just threw in 4 years, but I do mean the entire time they're eligible to play for the program.
  9. Yeah, but now you're punishing the school for the decision of the player to stop playing football. When I said to guarantee the 4-year scholarship, I meant to guarantee it so long as the player wanted it. I don't think you can make a strong argument that it'd be fair to punish the school if the player turned pro, quit, got into trouble...etc...
  10. I think it's Torodol. That's what I've gotten from the Pat McAfee show and the different NFL players or former players who've been on it. Their teams all use that to numb you up for ~3 hours. They all can't believe the Packers don't allow them and apparently it's only the Packers. Cortisone shots hurt like hell and probably wouldn't numb you up good enough to play in an NFL game with bad ribs. But of course, Donald will be out there feeling no pain in his ribs and playing like the Tazmanian Devil.
  11. I'm not sure how much of a difference playing slot vs. outside means in the Rams' system, but if I was their DC, I'd be working all day and all night to get Ramsey on Adams as much as possible. I'll be curious to see if he does follow him in the slot and just as much if it even matters. The Rams have the best secondary in the NFL per PFF. The Packers the 2nd.
  12. Young guys who don't come from money. These guys' agents should require their players to have financial advisors handling their money...but of course, they aren't going to risk upsetting their players by doing that. But we've been hearing about this for years now. I'm surprised he hasn't filed for bankruptcy. I'm even more surprised he didn't even have a lawyer representing him in court.
  13. That's pretty damn cool. Watching the McAfee show this year and getting some insight into Aaron Rodgers and the Packers and then reading this article...this is the most inside the Packers we've ever gotten as a fan base.
  14. That makes a lot of sense. I think everyone knew that Mahomes had a TON of talent. I'd be curious to know why they thought Watson didn't have a higher floor or was such a risk though. They didn't even bother talking to Watson. They met with Mahomes and Trubisky.
  15. Seems like they're just postponing the inevitable. I think each will end up finding success elsewhere as they're still relatively young, but they'll both be on the hot seat to enter next season and it's highly unlikely they'll have the QB situation figured out. Their best bet is to probably stick with what they have and hope Trey Lance falls to them or...I guess grab Mac Jones. But unlikely either will take them from a ~8 win team to a real contender in the near future. Pace in particular looks bad. 4 straight top 10 picks and the best of them has been Roquan Smith. Kevin White was injured from the start, Floyd...who we'll see this week, is a really solid player(10.5 sacks this year) but didn't get it done in Chicago and they decided to replace him with the more expensive, less athletic version of him. He's had some big hits...like Eddie Jackson, Amos, Eddie Goldman(not sure if Hicks was there when he got there or not). But all that would have been wiped away if they'd just taken one of the other two QB's available. Not that many people considered either in place for that pick, but damn, that set the Bears back 5 years already. I think you could also make the case that there might be some deficiencies in QB development in Chicago. Especially when compared to KC. That may be the case...but Nagy was Mahomes OC his first two seasons. So it's kinda hard to figure out exactly how good Nagy is at developing QB's. How much credit does he get for Mahomes...how much blame does he get for Trubisky? Nagy got his job largely because of Mahomes success and his perceived role in it.
  16. Keke was doing some limited stuff off to the side today. That means he's getting closer. We really need Keke to play. He's been one of the many guys who's kinda gone under the radar this year. Hopefully, he's completely healthy and able to go.
  17. That has to be one of the more bizarre sports conspiracy theories that I've ever heard. Veldheer's "history" is more of an interesting anecdote or answer to a trivia question than anything, it's not this huge thing that the NFL would have anything to possibly gain by keeping it from occurring. I'm thinking the NFL falsely staging a positive COVID test and compromising the integrity of their entire playoffs just to avoid a backup tackle legally playing for 2 different teams in the same playoffs is probably not something that happened. This makes absolutely zero sense to me. I don't think the NFL cared one TINY bit if Veldheer played for the Packers this week or not. If they did, they could have just blocked the waiver wire acquisition. They wouldn't fake a Covid result to block him from being the answer to a trivia question. That is without a doubt one of the silliest conspiracy theories I have heard myself. Right. You could also turn around and say, "they lost a 3 point game to the Bills, a VERY good team and a very tough trip for the Rams to make, traveling back East. The Packers traveling out West was the excuse some used for the LAC and SF losses last year(blown out in all 3). This is when Josh Allen was playing like an MVP. They lost to the 49'ers when they were much healthier than we were. Certainly not a worse loss than the Vikings(I'd argue a much better loss). The DID beat the Buccs just as they were starting to get hot. The Buccs lost by the same score to the Rams as they did to KC and then they ran the table(and they beat us BADLY around the same time).. I mean...you could do this ALL day by selectively altering the narrative behind each game. The Rams are a good team. I hope they blow them out. I suspect this will be much closer to the Bears-Packers NFC Championship Game. Maybe we with 24-10, maybe it's a 7 point win, but the Rams matchup VERY well with us. I hope this is like the Titans game, but again, I think there are unreasonable expectations and that will turn to "The Packers aren't as good as I thought they were" if the game goes as most people expect and it's a competitive game.
  18. Well...for starters, the 4-year scholarships SHOULD be guaranteed either way. You should only lose your scholarship if you quit or if you get into some trouble. Something that you can control. Grades is another. It should be like a contract. But I don't think that does much to level the playing field. As far as I know, Wisconsin does this pretty much across the board. Even guys who get injured in other sports have maybe lost their athletic scholarship so they don't count against the limit, but still get some type of aid. With regard to winning a title...I guess I just look at it like this, there are ~350 schools playing BB and about 130 playing CFB. We're in the top 10 pct on average and some years maybe a little higher...and I just hope we're able to put it all together like we nearly did in 2014 or the FF appearances in 2000 or 2013 as well. The Football team was one TD away from being in the playoffs just a few years ago when we lose a close game to OSU when we were 13-0 in the B1G title game and that's good enough for me. To be competitive year after year. I'd love to see us take the next step, but to go from a 10-11 win program year after year to a Clemson/Alabama type program....usually takes sacrifices I don't think are worth it. Rember the trash human beings Nebraska was letting on the team when they won their 3 titles? So yeah, maybe I am just happy with what we get. It's kinda like being a Brewers fan. I've accepted things aren't equal and it'll be tougher for us to ever win a World Series than the Yankees or the Dodgers and I just enjoy seeing them be competitive.
  19. Yeah, this is bad, but really just puts us back to where we were before last week. But the chances he's the ONLY person who has it... This has the ability to just be a huge gut punch. I was thinking this shouldn’t be a big deal as there is the wait period before a new player can join the team but I see they changed that rule in mid-December for a player who has already been in the NFL COVID protocol/testing. From what I read they are still required to pass a rapid test and since Veldheer obviously signed recently, hopefully it was that test that came up positive and would limit the likelihood of other players testing positive. The problem is he's been on the field practicing. He was in the rooms watching tape. LaFleur was talking about how he looked. This could be a HUGE problem. I really hope he's the only one with an issue, or this alone could knee cap us. Edit-So far it appears as though we may have gotten VERY lucky. I mean...losing Veldheer sucks, but it just puts us back to where we were before we claimed him. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30707074/no-green-bay-packers-deemed-close-contacts-ot-jared-veldheer-tests-positive-covid-19-source-says
  20. Ok...I feel like we're kinda getting hung up on the wrong issue here. He said that's how long that has been the case and you agreed and said that was the problem with College athletics. I guess I don't really understand the problem or why it's the problem with College Athletics. I get that we don't attract the most talented athletes usually...but that's just the reality of being a Wisconsin state school. And how could this "problem" be rectified....in your opinion?
  21. Spread or money line?
  22. During that time they barely lost in the NCAA finals and they made it to the final four(as well as numerous other deep runs). Though I'm curious why you'd say that has been the problem for just the last 20 years and not since they started playing organized sports? There have ALWAYS been programs that have superior talent. I don't know how this is limited to the past 20 years or even the problem with College sports. The only way to fix this, force colleges to draft HS players. This isn't going to happen and as such, there's really no "fix." I wasn't saying it has only been a problem for the last 20 years -- not sure where I implied that but if I did it was unintentional. It would be nice if we got our turn as a blueblood, but I do concede that both the basketball and football programs are certainly so much further along than they were 30 years ago or so. I read that as though you were inferring this was an issue that's come about for roughly the last 20 years. I don't believe Wisconsin is ever going to truly become a "blueblood" in either of those sports. Their academic standards are too high and their in-state talent is not nearly high enough. In just about every case, you need both of those working in your favor. Instead, the Badgers have been able to build great programs while not lowering their admission standards like many colleges and they're constantly among the top programs in the country. I guess I'm just not sure what you'd like the NCAA, the Badgers, or anyone involved with Collegiate athletics to do? I kinda feel like we're living in the golden era of Wisconsin sports(at least FB and BB).

  24. QB prospect from North Dakota State. 6'3 Extremely strong arm, thick, athletic...but hasn't played against much competition and played just one game this y ear. But is still projected to easily go in the 1st round and depending on what mocks you look at, most consider him to go in the top half. Kinda funny, reading the scouting report on him, his accuracy down the field is very good, and his short passes are what needs work. When is that ever the issue?
  25. It really is going to be fascinating. Is there ANY chance that Harden can become the guy he was in his early years in OKC where he was lauded for being a particularly UN-selfish player? He did play with Westbrook and KD before. I don't think there is any question the Nets were better off with all their picks and Lavert over the next 5 or so years, but this is the route they've chosen.
