  1. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/11/braves-open-to-trading-jurrjens-prado.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter The Braves have told some teams they would be willing to move Jair Jurrjens and Martin Prado in a trade, a Major League source tells MLB.com's Mark Bowman. Atlanta is known to be looking for a power-hitting outfielder and possibly a new shortstop, so either could be acquired in a Jurrjens/Prado trade, or at the very least the Braves could pick up some salary relief --- both Jurrjens and Prado are arbitration-eligible for the second time this winter. The Braves and Royals have already discussed a Jurrjens trade, and the Braves have an interest in minor league outfielders Lorenzo Cain and Wil Myers, amongst several other prospects in K.C.'s deep farm system. The Royals are known to be targeting veteran starting pitching on the trade market this winter so the two sides would seem like a fit as trading partners. As Bowman notes, Cain could be seen by the Braves as a future center field option if Michael Bourn isn't signed to an extension. Jurrjens was an All-Star in 2011, though the right-hander struggled badly (a 5.88 ERA) in the second half of the season and spent time on the DL with a knee injury. While Jurrjens' health is a question mark, Myers also took a minor step back (a .745 OPS in Double-A) in 2011 after being ranked as the 10th-best prospect in the sport in Baseball America's preseason rankings. Myers is still just 20, however, and was converted to the outfield this year after spending his first two pro seasons as a catcher. After an impressive 2010 season that saw him finish ninth in NL MVP voting, Prado took a step back in 2011, hitting .260/.302/.385 as Atlanta's everyday left fielder. Prado's ability to play left, third, first and second base would make him an intriguing trade possibility for a number of teams, especially since he could be available at a somewhat buy-low price. Maybe they would still be interested in Hart?
  2. MLBTRADERUMORS has us getting Reyes in their top 50 predictions. 3. Jose Reyes - Brewers. Reyes is another difficult top free agent to predict. The Nationals, Braves, Phillies, Giants, Pirates, Reds, Twins, Rays, and Cardinals could have a need at shortstop, but not all of those teams can or should spend $100MM+ on Reyes. The Mets will entertain re-signing Reyes, but the Brewers seem more likely to approach Ryan Braun's speculated $120MM price range.
  3. Headleys Career splits: Away: .303/.364/.441 with a BAbip of .374 Home:.229/.319/.336 witha a BAbip of .297 For comparison McGehee career splits: Away: .258 .305 .400 BAbip of .279 Home: .273 .335 .453 BAbip of .303 More specifically @ Miller Park: Headley - .278/.361/.463 BAbip of .293 (Also the stadium he has the most HR in outside of PETCO) I just think if you take him out of PETCO and you have at very least the player that Casey has been before this year with much improved defense. Add in the fact that he is a switch hitter to better balance out our lineup as well. Hart R Morgan L Braun R Weeks R Headley S Gamel/McGehee L/R SS Lucroy R Pitcher IMO that is a very good lineup that could contend again next year with our pitching.
  4. I would much rather see a 5/80 contract given to Greinke at age 28 than to Wilson who is 32 and has shown only 2 years of being a abover average starter in the bigs.
  5. I only bring it back up because of a post on Bernies Crew: Potential Offseason Move of the Day 3B Chase Headley, San Diego Padres If the Brewers wish to make a splash and acquire a starting third baseman for the 2012 season, switch-hitting Chase Headley should top their list. He is a quality defender at third base who hit .289/.374/.399 with the Padres last season -- making him one of the most valuable third basemen in the league, according to WAR. The power numbers are largely absent, as he only hit four home runs, but much of that is due to the home ballpark of PETCO. Away from PETCO in 2011, Headley mashed the baseball to the tune of a .330/.399/.465 triple-slash line. Compare that to a home line of .243/.348/.326. Miller Park could bring out the best in Mr. Headley. If you take into consideration what he has done outside of PETCO and moving into a "hitters" park that we have I think it could be a huge upgrade at 3rd. Especially considering his defense.
  6. I think this topic is worth bringing up again. I think these 2 guys (mostly Headley) would be huge additions to our roster. Depending on the price I think it is at least something to look into.
  7. Quick add to this post, I found a BJ Surhoff jersey on ebay, but the guy wants $225 for it!! Am I just ignorant or is this a crazy high number. It is still new but nothing else special about it(game-worn, auto'd, etc.) Plus, it's a "Buy it Now" so I can't even make him an offer. So am I crazy or is this a crazy price?
  8. Anybody know what a signed Clay Matthews jersey would go for? It is on a screen printed jersey on the back numbers. I wish it was on a stitched jersey but I'm thinking about bidding on it anyway.
  9. I'm looking for some Brewer jerseys from the mid-90's (the uni's between balls/glove and current). If anyone has any for sale, please let me know. Thanks!
  10. They just put up a new article on mlbtraderumors on Fielder's potential suiters. http://www.mlbtraderumors...-for-prince-fielder.html
  11. I would love to see us work a trade for Izturis. But like others have said I'm not sure what would be wanted on their end. Maybe Hawkins for Izturis if they wouldn't want Parra?
  12. I think trading them Hart could be an interesting possibilitiy since they showed interest in him a while back. He's now almost a steal of a contract considering Werth's deal Hart, Braddock/Jeffress/Rogers, Scarpetta, Peralta Put Gamel in RF and you got a dang good team going into next year.
  13. If we could get something like Tillman & Scott for Fielder & Parra Then see if you can get a #3/4 pitcher for McGehee & Narveson say.. McGehee & Narveson for Nolasco Our lineup and rotation looks pretty nice for next year and beyond. SP : Yo/Marcum/Nolasco/Wolf/Tillman Lineup: Weeks - 2B Gamel - 3B Braun - LF Hart - RF Scott - 1B Cain - CF Lucroy - C Escobar - SS Pitcher Gosh I love building pretend teams to get myself excited for the new season. Gotta love when it's snowing and we get to talk baseball!
  14. I would love to see a swap of.... Britton, Tillman, & Snyder for Fielder & Parra. SP - Yo/Marcum/Wolf/Tillman/Narveson BP - Axford/Braddock/Jeffress/Loe/Cappy/Hawkins/Mclendon Lineup - Weeks/Hart/Braun/McGehee/Gamel/Cain/Lucroy/Escobar/Pitcher (my only worry is that we only have 1 Lefty in the lineup) You have a AAA rotation of - Britton/Rogers/Rivas/Butler/Peralta? I like the sound of that for 2010 and the beyond.
  15. http://www.mlbtraderumors...st-in-nolasco-nunez.html Marlins a gauging interest in Nolasco. Would you offer McGehee and Parra for him?
  16. Lawrie, Jeffress, Peralta, & Arnett is what I would send them. You then lock up Weeks for 4 years 30 mil deal. Hold on to Prince til at least the deadline. Trade Mcgehee for a 3/4 SP. Weeks Cain Braun Fielder Hart Gamel Lucroy Escobar Pitcher Greinke Yo Wolf McGehee trade Narveson/Rodgers That puts us in position to win this year, and have some flexibility and promise in the future.
  17. I would love to see Aneury Rodriguez or Matt Sweeney coming this way in the draft. The biggest thing is that we would most likely need to work out a trade to keep Sweeney since i don't see a spot for him this year.
  18. Maybe Braves, Marlins, A's, Jays, and maybe Red Sox
