Mariners get Eric Thames, Freddy Peralta, Kestun Huira, Trey Stokes & Adrian Houser Brewers get James Paxton & Jean Segura Brewers add a top of the rotations arm & a clear upgrade at 2b. Huira & Peralta are the real pieces here for the Mariners as they get cost controlled SP and 2B to replace Paxton and Segura. 2019 salary in () RHP (9) = Jhoulys Chacin (6), Corey Knebel (4.9), Jimmy Nelson (3.7), Jeremy Jeffress (3.175), Junior Guerra (2.7), Matt Albers (2.5), Zach Davies (2.4) Corbin Burnes (0.575), Brandon Woodruff (0.575) - TOTAL RHP SALARY = 26.4 million LHP (4) = James Paxton (9), Dan Jennings (1.6), Josh Hader (0.575), Adam Conley (1.5) - TOTAL LHP SALARY = 12.675 million C (2) = Manny Pina (1.8). 2. Paxton & Segura For Aggy, Peralta, Lutz, Dubon Cain - CF Segura - 2B Yelich - LF Braun - 1B Shaw - 3B Santana - RF Pina/Nottingham - C Arcia - SS Paxton Chacin Burnes Nelson Davies/Woodruff/FA
  3. Ray, Peralta, Aggy/Santana for Realmuto Move Braun to 1B full time if you trade Aggy Cain Yelich Braun Shaw Realmuto Moose (Schoop if Moose opts out) Santana Arcia P Lot to give up for Realmuto, but that's the best 9 we could realistically send out.
  4. Looking for the "Big Cat" bobble given out at today's Mallards game. Pm me if you have an extra
  5. Fire sale is almost a necessity for this team at this point in the year. A few trades I would like to see: Gallardo & Gorzelany for Allan Webster, Garin Cecchini, & Brandon Workman Brewers get 2 upper rotation arms to plug into the rotation for 2014 & a 3B that is raking right now in high-A and ready for the jump to AA. Cecchini could be ready by June/July 2014 to be our everyday 3B. Sox give up 3 top 15 guys in their loaded system. Most people want Boegarts and Barnes, but I can't see that happening. A-Ram for Zach Lee Simple trade that is to logical to happen in real life. Ramirez gives them a steady power bat in the middle of their lineup while being a huge upgrade over Uribe. Lee spends the rest of 2013 in AAA and is ready opening day 2014. Hart for Chris Stratton (SF) To get a top 150 prospect for Hart is either wishful thinking, or way undervaluing Hart depending on how he plays for month prior to the deadline. Either way Stratton is projectable RHP with 4 pitches that are above average and a 3.6 K/BB this year. Worst case scenario he is a stud reliever/closer option in 2 years. 2014 Lineup: C: Lucroy 1B: Morris 2B: Gennett/Weeks SS: Segura 3B: Francisco (Cecchini) LF: Braun CF: Gomez RF: Aoki Bench: Bianchi Schafer Maldonado Gennett/Weeks Kr. Davis 2014: Rotation options Lohse Lee Webster Workman Peralta Estrada Burgos Nelson With that team you are still a competitive ball club but also set up very well for the next 3-5 years. The lineup becomes more balanced, and the rotation is younger and promising.
  6. I got offered Stanton, Alex Gordon, and Quintana for Hamilton & Gallardo in my keeper league. I have extra quality SP. Good deal?
  7. Despite the sarcasm I think it plays a small factor. Maybe a very small factor and not enough to derail a trade, but enough for them to contemplate the ramifications and perceptions of a full out sell-off. Trading off Greinke and Ramirez won't really hurt ticket sales this year, but it could affect pre-sales for next year if the casual fan thinks that the team will not be competitive. For people that are informed (like us messageboard junkies) it won't make a difference because we can see the bigger picture, but a lot of people won't see the bigger picture. These are the same people that couldn't name more than a handful of the Brewers top 20 prospects and don't see the value in getting young high-upside players.
  8. There is no way you move Lucroy from a premium position at C to 2B, especially when in talking about the time frame you put in place Gennett should be ready to take over. So basically it would be the question of would you rather have Gennett or Maldonado in the lineup. That seems like a no brainer.
  9. Source says that teams most interested in #Brewers' Greinke are #Rangers, #Angels, #Braves, #WhiteSox.
  10. Hows that optimism going for everyone?
  11. I know that it shouldn't matter, but I think the fact that he has a bobblehead day coming up in August will be a factor in the team trading him. It may be a little silly to think that, but Mark and Doug are not the types to throw up the white flag on a season and a lot of people will see it that way if they trade Greinke and ARam. So while it may be a smart baseball move, they may not see it as a smart business move.
  12. So at the T-Rats game last night I won the Scooter vs Snowman Bobble by spinning a wheel for a $1. Not looking to sell or anything but how rare/valuable is this bobble? I don't collect other than the ones I get at games. Thanks!!
  13. I will play along, but I am going to try and make it as realistic as possible (using rumored ideas) Greinke & KRod for Jean Segura, Kaleb Cowart, & Jordan Walden - Segura and Cowart get another year or 2 of seasoning and then come up and take over SS and 3B Jed Bradley for Yunel Escobar - Gives us a top 10 SS for a 2 year stopgap for fairly cheap ARam for Nate Eovaldi & Jerry Sands - Much need RH pop off the bench with Sands and a pitcher with #3 potential in Eovaldi who is ready right now. 2013 Lineup Aoki RF Escobar SS Braun LF Hart 1B Weeks 2B Green 3B Lucroy C Gomez/Schafer CF Pitcher 2013 Bench Gamel RF/1B Gomez/Schafer OF Bianchi IF Sands 1B/OF Maldonado C 2013 Rotation Gallardo RHP Marcum RHP (brought back via QO) Fiers RHP Narveson LHP Eovaldi RHP 2013 Bullpen Axford Walden Estrada Thornburg Rogers LOOGY FA This team can contend for the Central next year as well as the next 5-7 years. It has a balanced lineup with a good mix of youth and experience, solid rotation, and a cheap power arm filled BP. This also gives us a shot in the arm as far as elite prospects go in Segura/Cowert to go along with Gennett/Jungmann/Nelson/Morris in our next wave of prospects. PS - I have no idea how HiandTight does these long posts. I am now mentally drained.
  14. This kind of move would be the perfect compromise between buying and selling for Melvin. He an add a major league player relatively cheap (prospect wise), while reloading the farm with the returns from Greinke, KRod, ARam, etc. It keeps us relevant while still reloading for the next few years.
  15. They are probably looking to take the Chris Sale route with him. Use him as a power BP arm for the second half of the year and then have him in the rotation next year.
  16. Thornburg is going to be put in the bullpen to start out. Could move to the rotation if needed.
  17. Just browsing through his BR stats and dang he was good in his time with the Brewers. 2004 he had an unreal year: 12-14(!!), 2.70 ERA, 237.0 IP, 264 K, .983 WHIP, 8.25 K/BB And that only got him to 8th in the Cy Young voting!! I'm as guilty as anyone who bashed him for being "soft" when he was with the crew but man that guy was a workhorse and it's a shame his best years were wasted on such crappy teams.
  18. If I'm the Brewers I really like what ATL can offer as far as impact pitching. Delgado or Teheran, Zeke Spruill, & Pastornicky would be a great haul for Greinke. According to minorleagueball.com that is 3 B prospects possibly 1 A and 2 B's if its Teheran instead of Delgado. That trade fill the hole at SS (temporarily at least) and gives us 2 pitchers that can be in our rotation as soon as next year with front end potential.
  19. I'll pose this question for everyone. Hypothetically, if we did trade Greinke to the Rangers, would you rather it be for Profar straight up, or for Olt/Perez/C+ prospect?
  20. I would love to have a rotation of Gallardo and four 2/3 type pitchers. Look at the farm system as far as pitchers we have coming up in the next 1-2 years. Peralta - #3 Thornburg - #3 Jungmann - #2/3 Bradley - #2/3 Thats not even looking at guys in the lower minors (ETA 2014-beyond). If you throw in maybe Perez from a Greinke trade then you have 5 guys that are 2/3 starters potentially. Even if 2 don't pan out, you still have only one rotation spot that needs to be filled in by a Fiers/Narveson/Estrada type pitcher. I will take that any day of the week as long as we get a impact bat or two in the trade as well. I'd say those guys all have that ceiling, but what are they odds they all actually reach that ceiling? The way some of them are pitching now they may never make it to the bigs. I addressed that not all pitchers may reach that ceiling but i think paul253 summed it up pretty good: If the Brewers had an Mike Olt or a Nick Castellanos there'd have been no need to throw $30 million and three years at an aging Aramis Ramirez. If the Brewers had a power hitting outfield or first base prospect there'd be no need to extend Corey Hart and throw $40-$50 million at him when his contract is up. All of that money could go towards pitching. Even if you pay relievers, it definitely helps. If you shoot for a potential ace only for Greinke you are probably going to be disappointed. Then you end up keeping him and settling for draft picks. I'd rather take my chances with a Barrett Loux and Justin Grimm then with a draft pick someone in the 20s an another after the first round.

  22. Apparently the Rangers are scouting Greinke today. If not Profar, I would love to see Olt/Perez/Loux coming back.
  23. Ideally you would like an elite SS, but I don't think that's a requirement. As has been said I don't think it makes any sense to limit your options. It would be foolish of Melvin to turn down an offer for an elite 2nd base prospect and potential ace just to accept the best SS prospect that he can get offered + an MLB ready reliever. That's why I shake my head every time Melvin talks about who he will talk to and who he won't listen to. Why??? Two years before he hit free agency, Melvin said they "would not listen" to offers for Fielder. To my, unless you're lying and actually listening and just trying to appease your fanbase, that's ridiculous. What is it costing you to listen and see if you get blown away?? If the Cubs' Theo Epstien called and said, "I want to make you an offer for Ryan Braun", I'm listening. Chances are awfully good that I'll be hanging up shortly, but what on earth do I have to lose by listening? Actually, I think I've heard Melvin say on a couple of occasions that his stance on player availability was something like "My house isn't for sale, but if someone offered me $1,000,000 I'd have to think about it."
  24. I play in an auction keeper league and was wondering what everyone thought about this trade: Team A gets: Trout($7), ARod($17), & Brett Myers($0) Team B gets: Hamilton($23) & Moustakas($0) Keeper $$ is averaged between price paid and the upcoming year's book price. Ex. - Hamilton cost $23 this year and next year he is listed at $37, then (23+37)/2= $30 keeper price.
