    RoseBowl, you're comparing 2 compLETEly different things. Running FULL SPEED, sliding is NEVER faster. From a standing position, sliding headfirst is faster, and yes, you WOULD overrun the bag if you ran back full speed. You have to slow down. So to sum up, running to first = no slide, on base = slide.

    Just reading the preview on the Brewers site, and it sunk in that this is the first time all year we've been 3 games under .500. It's been a bad month, but at the same time, it's "nice" to read that at the very end of July instead of May. Not saying I'm happy, but things are getting better. Maybe next year we'll have an offense.
