  1. I'd offer you guys Danny Ray Herrerra, but I'm sure he'd kill Votto and Bruce when we face you guys. Outside him, I don't think the Reds and Brewers are a match in that department.
  2. I've learned it depends on which side of the situation you are on. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif My wife and I went to game one of the Stanley Cup last year and that place was so amazing the first time that song blared over the PA system. Just seeing that crowd in person was chill inducing. One of my favorite videos out there is the one of the Canucks reacting to that song on someones ipod. Hilarious to see those looks of disgust on their faces as they realize what they are hearing. As for Nashville, I get the 'I like it, I love it...' portion, its the morphing into...what is it, Rock and Roll Part 2 by Gary Glitter? Thats what I don't understand. Again though its like just a good excuse for them to scream sometime about the opponent goalie sucking. I'm pulling for the Bruins the rest of the way I think, really looking forward to the Sharks and 'Nucks tonight though.
  3. I used to live about an hour north of Nashville, in fact the hometown of your boy Corey Hart, my brother in law used to play against him in high school [used to hate him then lol [corey not my brother in law]]....and I loathe the Predators. I think what I dislike most about them is the song they play after scoring a goal at home, its so disjointed that it just makes no sense. Can you explain it to me? There is no flow between parts and considering its the Music City I found that disconcerting. As the playoffs wore on this year though, I found myself pulling for them. They are a class organization though, I'll give em that.
  4. You guys find yourselves rooting for the Wild, the Wings, or the Hawks as the 'hometown' team? Throw stones if you'd like, I'm a Blackhawks fan myself.
  5. Thanks for the heads up, I love Uecker.
  6. We in Cincy have this issue with Bronson Arroyo. When he first came over he wouldn't throw to Jason LaRue [much to my wifes chagrin]. Then once LaRue was gone and Ramon Hernandez came along, he didn't want to throw to him. I don't know if he just wants to be 'special' or thinks he's Greg Maddux with his own personal catcher or what. Now we really have a tandem catching situation it appears that our spanish speakers prefer Hernandez while our english speakers prefer Hanigan.
  7. There is a saying my Reds fan brothers and I use in relation to Mr Carpenter, after the brawl last year when he and Scott Rolen got into it Carpenter stated to the media 'How am I going to explain this to my son?'. Now, naturally everytime he does anything we ask...."How will Chris Carpenter explain this to his son?" It doesn't matter what it is, losing a game, the national deficit, gas prices, LaRussa's hair, anything is fair game.
  8. Shaun Marcum is ridiculously good. One of the best deals of the offseason for ANY team.
  9. Reds fan here. Its interesting to see this rivalry from the perspective of a non Reds fan. I tend to think the Reds aren't doing a lot to exacerbate it [though I suppose you can argue Phillips started it] while the Cards continue to find ways to string the animosity along. I enjoy a rivalry, I actually enjoy my team not liking the guys on the other side of the diamond, but complaining is just the bottom of the barrel in my opinion. Carpenter has a Masters degree in it, and LaRussa wrote the book on it. What kind of experiences do you folks have when they come to town? Do they complain about the way the balls are rubbed up? Or the mound? Do your players have these same issues when you visit GABP?
