I'm not sure I get all this talk nationally about Kemp, I understand he is a good hitter but he is on a sub .500 team. I heard somewhere there has only been 5 MVP's on a sub .500 team ever and 1 pitcher in the last 25 years so my opinion it is down to Braun, Upton, Fielder and those would be my picks in that order. I really hope it finishes Braun, Fielder, Upton.

I'm sure we'll see big numbers for the Cards series this week and the Phillies series in a couple weeks too, the only thing I can see happening is once we clinch the numbers may drop a bit being we play the Pirates and the Reds as the last 6 games of the season but hopefully we will be close to catching Philly for the #1 seed at that point!

By my calculations we would need to average 40,990 per game for the remaining of the regular season to beat our 2008 attendance totals and so far since the all-star break we have averaged 41,481 a game. Hopefully we can set an attendance record this year!

So by my calculations assuming they go with a 5 man rotation the rest of the way and don't skip any starts Gallardo would have 6 starts left vs Cubs@ Houston@ StLvs Colorado@ Cubsvs Florida Realistically he probably won't make it but he'd be our first 20 game winner in quite some time, just did a quick search on the last 10 years we've only been over 14 wins once, in 2005 Capuano had 18.
