  1. Let's move on from if Shaw was upset with the team or upset with himself! Shaw sucked was not a major part of the team this year, lets hope he finds some way to provide value next year. Lot of question marks with the team this offseason with a lot of money to spend, it will be very interesting to see what DS does. I'd like to see Moose and Grandal back but definitely understand the points about both of them being on the older side of the spectrum so committing multi year deals to aging players usually doesn't work out the greatest.

  3. Sure would be nice to continue to get outings like this from Freddie here on out.
  4. I think it's probably pretty unlikely that both the Cubs and Cards make the playoffs at this point being that they close the season with 7 games against each other. Either one will get hot and eliminate the other or they will split allowing us and the Nats continue to make up ground on both teams. That said I hope we are able to stay hot, take the division and then let the Nats/Cubs or Cards battle out to see who gets to go to LA! Go Crew!
  5. Maybe this has been said already but last year he mixed in his slider much more, I remember a post or an article on how his release slot was so similar between his fastball and his slider which was one of the reasons why he gave hitters such fits. It doesn't seem like he throws it much at all anymore so hitters are sitting on his fastball. Armchair coach here but I'd like to see him only work true save situations, no more of this two inning stuff and have Albers/JJ/Freddy operate as setup based on situation, then see him mix in his slider much more often, especially vs lefties which seems to be a devastating pitch. Maybe he's having issues with the slider though?
  6. I don't really see a downside of bringing back Shaw since he has options and could turn things around Thames is replaceable whether that is Shaw/Braun/Frietas Would love to see Moose and/or Grandal back, more likely to see Moose in my opinion Need to address the starting pitching in the offseason OF: Braun, Grisham, Cain, Yelich 3B: Moose/Shaw SS: Arcia 2B: Huira 1B: Shaw/Braun/Frietas C: Pina/Nottingham/Frietas Gamel super sub
  7. The thing is, aside from the Reds who are a little ways back we have done more to this point to improve our team than the Cubs or Cards and hopefully we make a move or two more here shortly.

  9. When will the 25 man NLDS rosters be announced?
  10. I think collapse is appropriate when you have to win one of two games (22 innings) at home and score 2 runs.
  11. I agree, I question moving Shaw to 1B late in close games. Jesus has made some pretty spectacular plays over there and I don't think you gain a whole lot if anything with Shaw there.
  12. Agree Carp isn't a world beater but they showed last night that they are clearly more worried about him the rest of the Cards order. Will be very interesting to see how they handle this tonight, lets just jump to a big lead and not have to worry about Carpenter or anyone else on that roster.
  13. If that's the strategy I would think they let Gio try to work through a min of two Carp AB's and then get Chase in there.
  14. I tend to agree unless they are planning on throwing Guerra, Peralta, Woodruff etc.....guys that are technically our B rotation arms in the hopes we can play matchups to get through the game or at least the majority of the game before you see more of our A arms. Would be nice to just jump out to an early lead and be able to use the B arms throughout.
  15. Or if they follow up with someone else my guess is they don't plan on pitching either pitcher more than 1 inning each for the first two.
  16. Wouldn't you think if they were going to start Jennings and follow up with Anderson that they would want to get through the pitchers spot? I don't see a lineup yet for us but will be interesting/telling how that shapes up. My guess is if the P spot is still #9 that we'd be hoping Jennings gets through 2 innings where you could pinch hit for him in the top of the 3rd?
  17. Agree, would LOVE a series vs the Rockies as I live in Denver!!
  18. I haven't been this excited about an opening day in awhile, gonna be interesting to see how the lineups shake out and we have options in the minors knocking on the door to get their chance!
  19. Brewcrewdue80, sorry for not providing enough information but thanks for taking a look! So pre-draft we have to keep 10 of our current players, we have a cap of $65mil based on last years payroll and a hard cap of $75mil (cannot exceed), for every 1 mil I go over 65 I will owe another $10 on top of my entry fee. Post keeper selection everything is fair game, snake type draft from there without salary considerations of the remaining players that were not kept. From my understanding typical stat categories for a head to head league.
  20. My initial thoughts are keeping these: Keepers Bryce Harper Was - OF  $21,625,000.00 Francisco Lindor Cle - SS  $579,300.00 Anthony Rendon Was - 3B  $5,800,000.00 Eddie Rosario Min - OF $552,500.00 Adam Duvall Cin - OF  $577,500.00 Sonny Gray NYY - SP $3,575,000.00 Zach Davies Mil - SP $546,200.00 Alex Colomé TB - RP $547,900.00 Blake Snell TB - SP $545,000.00 Zack Greinke Ari - SP $34,000,000.00 $68,348,400.00
  21. This is my first real go at a fantasy baseball league, I inherited a team from a guy who is no longer playing, its a head to head league and you MUST keep 10 players from the year before and cannot exceed $75mil based on last years salaries. Every mil I go over $65m is an extra $10 on my entry fee. Batters 2017 Salary Yasmani Grandal LAD - C $5,500,000.00 Justin Smoak Tor - 1B $4,125,000.00 Robinson Canó Sea - 2B $24,000,000.00 Anthony Rendon Was - 3B $5,800,000.00 Francisco Lindor Cle - SS $579,300.00 Adam Duvall Cin - OF $577,500.00 Eddie Rosario Min - OF $552,500.00 Adam Jones Bal - OF $16,333,333.00 Didi Gregorius NYY - SS $5,100,000.00 Eugenio Suárez Cin - 3B $595,000.00 Hanley Ramirez Bos - 1B $22,750,000.00 Josh Harrison Pit - 2B,3B,OF $10,250,000.00 Brett Gardner NYY - OF $12,500,000.00 Bryce Harper Was - OF $21,625,000.00 Dustin Pedroia Bos - 2B $15,125,000.00 Víctor Robles Was - OF $535,000.00 Pitchers Zack Greinke Ari - SP $34,000,000.00 Blake Snell TB - SP $545,000.00 Jeurys Familia NYM - RP $7,425,000.00 Blake Treinen Oak - RP $563,700.00 Sonny Gray NYY - SP $3,575,000.00 Zach Davies Mil - SP $546,200.00 Alex Colomé TB - RP $547,900.00 Tyler Mahle Cin - SP $535,000.00 Marcus Stroman Tor - SP $3,400,000.00 Jake Odorizzi TB - SP $4,100,000.00 Danny Duffy KC - SP,RP $5,000,000.00 Brandon McCarthy LAD - SP $11,500,000.00
  22. I agree I would love to see them make the playoffs this year and yes that would do all the things you mentioned and more likely but in order to greatly improve our rotation or our pen I would imagine we'd be targeting someone that would cost a lot to get with the price of impact bullpen arms, it doesn't seem worth it. I do 100% agree that we should be making moves internally now that super 2 status has passed and to be honest I think we have some internal options that have the potential to greatly improve our club today.
  23. I think for the Brewers to be a buyer at the deadline this year is pretty short sighted. Don't get me wrong I love watching the Brewers win games just like the rest of you do and this season is a great surprise but in order to add something that will make us a better team (pitching) we'll need to give up a lot and for what? Are we only a relief pitcher or starter away from a World Series team? As much as I would like to think we have the talent to be a WS contender this year, I don't see it. So what is the point in trading away controllable players to get a shot at making the playoffs? Why not enjoy the success of this year and build on that for the following year, if we make the playoffs, GREAT but no need to rush the rebuilding process.
  24. Might be a little brutal to watch our 7, 8, 9 spot today
