  1. Surprised to hear this sentiment, not just here but all over. Quintana has been great and I’m not sure why people are eager to bump him for Cortez. That said I believe the brewers should be listening on both. Patrick is ready and wells more than capable, gasser is almost back, Logan Henderson was tremendous and Myers is back, not to mention hall and Ashby, this team has no shortage of arms, and not just capable arms, but proving to be above average
  2. A big assumption, but not outlandish… they should sign all of the college picks. That said the high schoolers they have already signed make this class already seem like a good one. Obviously gotta get cairone signed. Then hopefully a few more in the 11-20 range, I think the brewers cooked in this one!
  3. This keeps the team at budget. Tyler black is traded to STL along with Rhys Hoskins and Carlos Rodriguez and a ptbnl swap for Nolan arenado, the cost is steep but we needed the Hoskins salary swap and the cardinals decided Hoskins fits well for a year with Goldschmidt leaving via FA. Devin williams in traded for prospects that better fit the current team make-up and helps back fill for black and Rodriguez being traded. Teams like the brewers need this type of churn when top prospects knock on the door but don’t fit. Goldschmidt is signed as a FA on a 2 year deal similar to the one Hoskins signed last year. He’s a much better fit as he puts the ball in play more and is a vastly better defender, so the pitching staff upgrades by default. with arenado and Goldschmidt at the corners and Ortiz sliding to short and yelich the semi permanent DH the Brewers now field the best defense by good margin in baseball. the pitching staff is going to rely on a few gambles but should be as good or better than last season. The pen proved last season to be very capable without willing and I think that Togo and mis/hall will be a nice boon and provide length. the starting rotation will be lead by woodruff who comes back successfully from his injury, Meyer’s builds on last season and becomes the aces, Freddy has a typical under-appreciated really good season, civale is a great 4, and Ashby continues what he showed at the end of the season. Overall this rotation performs top 5 in the NL. I think the infield is overall upgraded with the approach because the two ads provide just as much pop and Willy and Hoskins and better over all defense. the outfield is overall better with all 3 taking a developmental step forward especially churio, plus a full season of Mitchell, with yelich/perkins providing a wonderful long productive and defensively solid 5. DH with Yelich as the every day is LIGHT YEARS ahead of last season… The most common lineup is: 1. Churio 2. Contreras 3. Yelich 4: arenado 5. goldschmidt 6. Mitchell 7. Ortiz 8. Frelick 9. Turang

  5. Nick Kahle! Now predicting a monster year
  6. I am excited for the post season, and I think we will see the brewers offense via the king ball come back a little. the main reason is simply that everyone’s “stats” go back to zero in the post season, it’s a fresh start. I don’t see that negatively affecting the hotter hitters, but I do see it significantly helping the guys “chasing numbers” and pressing like willy, rowdy, and to an extent Donaldson (we know the power is there). It’s hard to dig out of those types of holes and the zeros should really help 1/3rd of this lineup. It should also be good for guys like turang and Taylor. Frelick, Contreras, yelich, canva, and Santana have been fine and with some more power from the 3 power bags getting a reset I think the rest produces more power with less pressure as well. Excited about this run!
