  1. Eau Claire has club baseball I know for a fact. Cavs and Express are both summer league teams, rather than the spring season when the club team plays.
  2. Oh man now you got me all excited waiting for it!
  3. Absolutely. Bad acting, totally cheesy, not funny at all. And it is played it seems like every inning. I cannot stand that commercial. Great call! Another public safety announcement that was out last year that bugged me every single inning was that drunk driving one with the guys driving all over the road in cars full of alcohol. It got old so fast. That Badgers football commercial with the doctors performing a surgery and the Badgers score got pretty bad too
  4. I only read the first few posts of this so if I am repeating I apologize, but the problem with platooning a pitcher in the home/away fashion is when he should be getting a road start and he is sitting, that will cause him problems. I would almost guarantee that his ERA at home goes way up because he is not getting his regular start every 5 days. Baseball players, especially pitchers are creatures of habit and when that habit is broken things can really go bad, or in this case evenworse.
  5. I don't know if I can buy this either. There are so many instances where you see the guys in the dugout having fun with each other. Kapler making fun of Prince with the ear plugs, Rickie and Ben messing around on the bench in Colorado, and yesterday when Kendall hit his first home run everyone met him in the dug out with a big grin on their faces. Even Hall who many think may be causing problems is always one of the first out of the dugout cheering when something happens! I mean if this guy walked through the dugout after the Tuesday night game, maybe that would explain it but I really don't think this group of guys are going to have extended clubhouse problems.
  6. I know its not really critical or anything at all, but there were two of you guys that left posts about Prince not forcing the throw across the diamond in the top of the 9th. The reason he stopped running was not b/c he was conceding the out, it was b/c the 3B (atkins I believe) turned to him and was going to tag him if he kept running. Prince was in a no win situation if he keeps running no throw happens because he is tagged out and if he stops like he did they can just step on the base. It has nothing to do wiht him being lazy or fat or any of that. I don't know why those posts bothered me but they really did and I thought it was completely unfair for you guys to be calling him lazy, in this situation. (There have been plenty of times where you could call him lazy, but in my opinion after watching it plenty of times he did just fine here.)
  7. It's pretty annoying that all the websites have teh Cards/Stros game at 5-5 in the 9th when the score is actually 5-4 Cardinals
  8. Great inning for soup, the rockies answered the brewers short inning with an even shorter one!
  9. Way to battle out SOUP, but lets throw some more strikes now!
  10. That is not a good ratio of strikes to balls
  11. Good start to the comeback! Russell doesn't know what to do when he actually has to hustle down the line haha.
  12. I'll go the other way of everyone else... Revenge is gonna be sweet from last night!
  13. BA's "How far will it fly" was pretty funny there.
  14. Haha in theory DD pitching is very cool but actually watching him pitch is not as cool, if its anything like his Brewers days.
  15. If the most likely result is going to be an out anyways, why not take a chance and let Sheets try to get a hit?
  16. We got the win, Ben pitched great, Torres did his job, lets not make any more out of last nights game then needs to be. If it was worth an extra win I'm sure Ben would've stayed in for the complete game, but since it isn't it is a pretty much useless stat. Why even bother getting angry about it, I guarantee you Ben's anger was frustration with Berkman putting up a great at bat and for walking him rather than anything directed at Ned.
  17. What I did is I went to camps at all the various schools and met the coaches, kept in contact with the ones that I was interested in. Email your stats around to all the coaches and tell them you are interested in playing ball at their school. A lot of the athletic sites have interest forms, fill those out and I'm sure coaches will contact you. Not everyone has D1 talent out of high school, and it is hard for a lot of D3 schools to recruit kids, there are a lot of us that fly under the radar and you have to promote yourself then. Those camps hosted by the school's coaches are very good for meeting the coaches, but you still have to keep contact with them and make sure they keep tabs on you. I'm sure your high school coach has been through this with out players, my coach was very helpful in setting me up with the coaches at the places I wanted to go. if you have any other questions i'm more than happy to help you out. What position do you play by the way we might need some help over at concordia.
  18. If playing baseball is something that you really want to consider, be sure to check out some of the smaller schools in the area. Lakeland, Egdewood, Marian, MSOE, Lawrence, Beloit and where I go and play baseball Concordia are all very excellent programs with quality players. The WIAC schools are usually the more trendy choice, but believe me a lot of times the smaller schools can give the WIAC schools a pretty good run for there money, especially in baseball. You still have plenty of time if you are a junior, but this summer will be a good time for you to start talking to the coaches from all over. Playing a college sport is a wonderful opportunity that not a lot of people get the chance to do.
