  1. Nice at bat, Braunie. Two huge swings and then a called strike.
  2. JJ Hardy... what a great at bat. Lets get a few more this inning.
  3. Well, luckily, the Phillies, Cubs, and Cardinals all managed to lose 2, so we still remain 4.5 up instead of 2.5 or 3.5. The Phillies play the Mets now, and we play the Padres, so time to build that lead!
  4. Yep. For like 15 innings, we failed to get a single run off the mets bullpen. It is almost unbelievable, really. What a beautifully fitting way to end it, Weeks. Congrats to Escobar.
  5. Diamondbacks have guys on 1st and 3rd without any out. Tie it up!
  6. I keep forgetting we will still have a 3.5 game lead. We really gotta build that WC lead back up while the Cardinals are playing FLA and the Phillies and Mets are playing...
  7. This whole series is frustrating. The Cubs have a brutal September schedule and we have a chance to come back, and we go and blow two games and get blown out in another. So Brewers. Sigh.
  8. Get the champagne, boys! We scored against the Mets bullpen in the 12th inning!!! We are champions! Edit: It was Perez? To the 13th we go!
  9. I find that every time the Brewers starting dropping games like this, I got worried they were going to completely collapse and starting dropping games to teams lik the Padres, Pirates, Reds, etc. Every time I was wrong. Hopefully I am again, cause we need to win at least 9 or 10 of those 13 if we are to make the playoffs. Hopefully, we'll be pitched to (and be pitching to) a lot of September callups.
  10. The four in Philly could decide our fate. Hopefully, Philly will lose today as they have their worst pitcher on the mound and are facing someone pretty decent. Hopefully, the Mets and Marlins will beat up on Philly and we'll beat up on San Diego and the Reds, and we'll go in 5-8 games up on them in the Wild Card. This is going to be a very tight race, though. Very tight. Could very well come down to the Cubs knocking us out of the playoffs. If we lose today, thats at least 2 games we should have won and also 2 more games we have to win to ensure that we make the playoffs. With the Phillies and Mets easy schedules, we can probably rely on them posting pretty good months. We have to follow up and at least finish a game or two over .500, which is now looking difficult as we'll need to play 5-over to do so.
  11. What I don't like about this team is they don't get it done in really crucial times enough. We've had 8 men on base today (at least) and only have one run to show for it. This is an almost every game occurence.
  12. Make it 6-4, Billy! Redemption!
  13. LETS GET THIS RUN IN. PLEASE. DO NOT STRAND FOUR RUNNERS AT SECOND BASE IN 6 INNINGS.
  14. When it comes down to it, boo or cheer, both are stupid as being a sports fan is one of the most irrational things to grace humanity. In the end, we are all just cheering for our local company's millionaire employees to swing a stick at a quickly-moving ball better than the other cities, just to give us the unjustified feelings of an almost intrinsic self-superiority and victory over other cities. Win or lose, even wth World Series, we haven't gained anything tangible, and in a couple of years, we won't really even care anyway. At least that's the way I'm thinking about it as I prepare myself for missing the playoffs.
  15. I swear, if this team could bat in runners from second with one out or less a little more often, they'd be another 10 or 15 games above 500. The amount of runners we strand with one out or less is one of the most maddening things about this team. So far we've had guys on 1st and 2nd twice and a runner on 2nd, and have zero runs to show for it.
  16. We've had this "to boo or not to boo" discussion about a bazillion times, most recently when Turnbow voiced his complaints about how sensitive he was to it. I think that topic was like 400 pages long. Let's just give it a rest.
  17. We can still win this game. It's only the top of the 5th, and we are down 6-0, which is quite a bit but not a ton, especially with the way the Mets bullpen is supposed to be hit against. I just have a feeling we'll win this one. Hall has been great defensively indeed, but he is supposed to be hitting LHP.
  18. Well, the Mets pitcher is getting up in the pitch count early again, so lets hope we can actually hit one of the worst bullpens in the majors. So far they've shut us out for 10 innings... Also, has Hall even recorded a friggin hit this series? My god, he's terrible this year. He has no plate discipline and is just overall nervewracking. And there is nothing wrong with booing when a team is being *stupid.* When you can't win important games at home, when you blow two back-to-back important games on utter stupidity, and then you get a 6-spot blasted on you in the 1st inning, what are the fans supposed to do? Clap softer? Cheer the team on? Should a father scream at his son for failing all his final tests? This team deserves to be booed.
  19. Yeah, this team just can't handle the pressure, especially at home. *IF* we make the playoffs, and that is one big if, then I am glad we will start it on the road. As is, however, I'm not expecting to make the playoffs.
  20. I still cannot believe we were unable to score of the Mets' bullpen in seven innings last night.
  21. The problem is that these two games arguably should have been won by us. Period. If the wild card ever starts to get real close, these games were a 2-game cushion that we don't have. These two losses are now two more losses that we have to hope other teams have.
  22. I'm not sure if this is already posted, but I have heard that Mo's Steakhouse is the "place" for Bucks and Brewers sightings, and that a lot of them live in the condos around there. I don't have any interesting stories, but as a kid I saw Reggie White outside of Lambeau Field while I had a cast on my leg, and he pulled me aside and signed a polaroid my dad took of us together.
