  1. As I said before, if this team misses the playoffs, I'm just walking away. Done with them. Walking away. I know there have been worse collapses for other teams, but this is the year we need to do it. The Brewers have looked too legitimately "real" all season long for them to not even get a shot at the playoffs. To hold my love, excitement, and genuine confidence for almost 6 months and then miss the playoffs on shoddy defense, unclutch batting, and terrible pullpen issues is too much for me to take for something that offers so little real tangible reward.
  2. From what I've seen, especially at home, this team is not mentally strong. They lose concentration, come up horribly unclutch, and make terrible mistakes at a much higher rate in critical games than others. During the Cubs series at home, they looked utterly inept and downright weak and vulnerable. Even if we make the playoffs, which is now far from certain, I'm afraid of how upsetting it will be to see our team continually make ridiculous mistakes and strand critical men on base.
  3. If we miss the playoffs, I'm just done with baseball forever. I'm moving to Seattle in a few months for a new job, and I will make it out of sight, out of mind. The baseball season is far too long for me get crushed like this three years in a row.
  4. Just because JJ was thrown out doesn't mean Sveum was stupid to send him. Did you see how close Hardy was? He couldn't have been any closer! The LF connected on an amazing throw that is unlikely to happen. There was a good chance Hardy is safe on that. But yeah, we may have won if he didn't.
  5. The point is, just because he did give us a few runs tonight doesn't absolve the fact that he made more stupid, stupid mistakes that were responsible for the loss. He's done it in many, many games, and regardless of whether or not he knocks in some runs, it is absolutely inexcusable at this level of play.
  6. I don't want to talk about "potential first round matchups." The fact is, the Mets and Phillies play the Nationals, Braves, and Marlins something like 18 times the rest of the way. If they do what they should, they are going to have their winningest months of the year. The Brewers, although playing many easy teams, have to win these games. We cannot make mental mistakes and errors in these games. With 11 more games left against the Cubs, Phillies, and Mets, a September meltdown is MORE than possible. Every single game matters. Regardless, WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO SCORE A SINGLE RUN IN TEN INNINGS AGAINST THE METS BULLPEN.
  7. True, but this isn't anything new for Rickie. Mental mistakes and extremely costly errors are something you can depend on him to commit. If he didn't inexplicably walk a lot, there would be no reason for him to even be in the majors. I don't know many teams that are allowing a .225 leadoff hitter to stay in their lineup.
  8. Fun fact: The Brewers have not put up a run on the Mets' vaunted bullpen in TEN innings.
  9. 1-2. I say Strike looking. Hope I'm wrong cause I was right about fielder DPing
  10. Weeks with a shot at REDEMPTION!
  11. This team makes me sad. With the Phillies and Mets having such a cake schedule left, we are going to miss the playoffs. I cannot believe how badly this team comes through in big games. They completely crapped their pants in the Cubs game, and it doesn't look like it will be any different against the Mets. Just disgusting. Now Cameron strikes out looking. So is he challenging Howard for strikeouts yet?
  12. OF COURSE we should have bunted. Unfortunately, it makes too much sense to Ned Yost. I don't care who is batting. If you have a guy at 1st, none out, and only need one run to win, YOU BUNT.
  13. Fielder will probably DP here, just to ice his proverbial slumpcake.
  14. Lets end it here, boys! I call a Fielder walk off homer and subsequent .385 September.
  15. Yes. It definitely looks like Weeks let off the gas as soon as he rounded first. He's just an idiot, and I don't think he really will ever learn.
  16. He was out. More low IQ fun from Weeks.
  17. I think they were probably Mets fans. I was at the game yesterday, and there were a lot of travelling Mets fans there, especially in that lower level seats.
  18. Whew. Now let's win this thing before we need to face those guys again.
  19. Beautifully executed right there. Two guys on, none out, and the heart of the order up to bat and nothing. Zip. Out out out.
  20. Some more of that wonderful Fielder defense...
  21. Man, Billy JUST missed that. In the air, it looked like a no-doubter.
  22. Our inability to bat runs in is maddening. When is Fielder going to get his head into gear and DO SOMETHING?
  23. On a relatively worrying note, the Phillies and the Mets both have 12 games against the Braves and Nationals, and 6 against the quickly falling Marlins. This race could be tight if we don't get it done against them.
  24. All this talk about whether it was a hit or not pointless. Sabathia has way too many pitches right now to go the distance.
