  1. Another great game to be at. Looked like it was going to be a 4 hour marathon early, but just like Sunday, after the 10th run in the 4th the game just flew by. Poor Billy Hall left on deck in the 8th.
  2. Both guys are pretty close to being equal as far as hitting and fielding. But when that happens, the guy getting the $ gets the start most of the time.
  3. Was at the game and didn't think the booing was that bad. There were still people cheering for him. The booing was nowhere near the "Turnbow walks leadoff guy" or "Gagne gives up 2 hits in the 9th" level. I'm sure a few will still keep it up tomorrow, but if he's still on the team when they come back next week (which he should be), I don't think it'll continue.
  4. Yeah the club level has some nice food you can't get anywhere else. Not to mention the "daily" specials like omelettes and carved ham sandwiches for Sunday games, fish fry for Friday, create-your-own pasta during the week.
  5. See the thread in Major Leagues - his agent has asked for a trade.
  6. At this point we might just have the face the fact that the Cubs are going to play over their heads the entire year and so we should just worry about picking up W's and hope that we can get the wild card.
  7. Sheets should pitch the 9th until someone gets on base, then bring in Torres.
  8. That being the case, I wonder if he liked Kent Hrbek. Throw in an E for excellency and there you go.
  9. ah, the old Dave Bush is back. you knew the last start had to have been a fluke.
  10. Yeah the key gives you 100 entries into Pot's big grand opening drawing - although the entries are all electronic now - just give them your key and your FKC card and the entries will be put in your account. During the week leading up to the grand opening (June 19), they have drawings every day (must be present to win though).
  11. I think this was on his mind, he got asked a question and just spoke from the heart. Now that he knows he's going to be around for a while for sure, I can see why he'd be upset that the team isn't performing better - nobody wants to play for a loser. Now if this was Prince, ya know, it would be just like oh, were struggling, ya know, but ya know, we just have to play better ya know, and, and, ya know, things will start to come around ya know.
  12. Definitely will renew. I had Bucks season tickets this past year (buy 1 get 1 free deal) - can't be any worse than that debacle, lol.
  13. Jeff Grayson came back on about 15 minutes after Brian and Bill went off the air and said their coverage would start Sunday, so I'm guessing they got the word that the game won't be televised. Hopefully they pick up another game later in the season to make up for it.
  14. At least the national TV audience doesn't have to watch Bush pitch now.
  15. Well then he plays for 3-4 years and then we have someone else.
  16. 8 ticket limit per person seems awfully high. especially if the tickets end up being really cheap - many will take the max or close to it even if they don't plan on using them all.
  17. Pirates take lead over Cards in 10th.
  18. Yeah it was Mueller. He did fine except for at the beginning of the bottom of the 2nd. He said "leading off the 3rd for the Dodgers, Brad Penny", but then corrected the inning, team and player (Penny would lead off the next inning). Not as much energy as Edwards, and obviously he wasn't used to a lot of the between-innings stuff that Edwards could do without thinking about it.
  19. Gagne walked him just to get the Dole Double Play and give some $ to charity.
  20. no playoffs no .500 not even 2nd in division
  21. Fitting end to this one. Keep saying "we're gonna be fine", Ned.
