  1. Cappy v. Silva tomorrow seems like a good matchup. The pen has been extra scary the last few games though. It seems like nobody out their but Turnbow could get anyone out. And that was the cub "offense" they were facing. Radke isn't anything special anymore and I expect us to score some runs off him. Keeping runs off the board will be the hard part. 1 out of 3 means a .500 road trip. I would have liked better but realistically that was a pretty likely outcome.
  2. I've been critical of Yost and some of these decisions in the past. That said, bringing Turnbow in is absolutely the right thing to do here.
  3. We don't really deserve to win this game. Of course, we didn't really deserve to win last nights game either. Howry threw 32 pitches last inning and didn't look great so we certainly have a shot in the 9th against whoever is pitching for the cubs.
  4. I would now do a double switch leave Hart in the game and put the pitcher in Lee's spot in the lineup. Hart's D >>> Lee's D.
  5. On the bright side Shouse made it through the inning and the cubs had to pinch hit for Erye using their only decent bench player. Now Gross will likely get to face a righty and we can pinch hit for Shouse.
  6. Looks like Capellan is up in the pen. A bit suprising after working more than an inning yesterday. I would have Shouse warming up if anyone gets on to face Pierre and Walker though. Oh and Moeller is terrible.
  7. I would however suggest pinch hitting for Chad though.
  8. ok Koskie just a long fly ball. That is all I ask (although a clean single would be nice too).
  9. Hall, Jenks, Lee for the crew in the 7th. Now would be a good time for a run. Although the 9th against Dempster wouldn't be bad either Can't waste this nice performace by Bush here.
  10. BTW, why are the cubs starting Nevin in left now? He is 35 years old. Maybe it is time to play the youngster Dusty? Or maybe they thinking getting to that 70th win is really that important.
  11. Rickie doesn't get on but I love his approach at the plate. Didn't swing until the 5th pitch then makes what appears to have been solid contact. Marmol in the mid 90's according to CBSsportline.
  12. In some day games that the affect the Crew a bit the Twins staying hot up 4-0 over the Dodgers with Johan on the mound and Detroit is 0-0 against Houston in the 4th (Verlander v. Pettitte).
  13. I'm predicting a run here in the 11th for the crew. 3-4-5 up and no more Coffey.
  14. With the off day tomorrow couldn't Miller just go today as well? I completely agree with you though jamie if it had to be an either or then yesterday would have made more sense.
  15. I guess Santos learned something from his time with the crew... just where Jenkins like to swing for strike 3.
  16. Do you really think Santos has good stuff DHonks? I always viewed him as an innings eater with very average stuff. No real chance of breaking out and being a good pitcher but not a big chance of falling apart either. I thought that last year would be the last we would need a starter like that but now I kind of miss the vampire.
  17. Time to bring the bats for this one. First team to ten wins.
  18. If Liriano is on a 70 pitch pitch count then you have to really like our chances. We have the most patient team in the NL almost seeing 4 pitches per AB right now. Get into the middle relief and wear them out for the series tonight.
  19. I would like to see Corey Hart in the lineup today. From everything I have read Liriano is really, really, tough on lefties and Prince could use a day off. Maybe even another start for Cirillo at 3rd? That would leave Jenkins as the only lefty in the lineup.
  20. I would love to get into the middle relief this game after the padres used two of their best for two innings last night.
  21. Love Cappy's approach to EY there pounding the zone. He isn't going to hurt you in that park so just throw strikes.
  22. That right there is why Rickie is leading off. He may be miscast a bit in the role but he has a high OBP and can steal a base when he gets on. I don't think that is where he should be batting a year from now but for now I think it is the best spot for the club for him to hit.
  23. On the bright side Hoffman will be due up to start the 10th. Either they pinch hit or let him hit. Either way that isn't such a bad thing for us.
