  1. Maybe. But there would've been absolutely no one who would've said that Ned should've left Tavarez in as the alternative.
  2. You're willing to let someone else's moral values take precedent over your entertainment? Blasphemy.
  3. Even the best players in baseball will/can not perform well every single time. It's up to the manager to detect this and make changes accordingly to minimize the damage. There was no evidence of Ned doing that when he left Tavarez out there while he promptly loaded the bases.
  4. At least pretend like it isn't terrible and bring in someone for the pitcher who's getting his clock cleaned out on the mound. It's not like anyone in the pen could've been any worse than Tavarez; no harm in taking the chance that one of them might be better.
  5. Ned is apparently not gifted with any form of foresight.
  6. I don't care if we have to get a position player on the mound. You don't leave a pitcher in if he just loaded the bases with nobody out in the 12th inning of a tie game.
  7. So, um, why's Tavarez still in there?
  8. Cute, Al. So naturally, you feel compelled to click on it and post your feelings http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif This is such a hot button topic, but the vast majority of opinions on it have no factual basis whatsoever. In fact, the only side of the issue that has provided any sort of evidence to back up their stance is the vegetarian/nutrition crowd; and despite this, there still remains an epidemic of armchair nutritionists that claim the lack of meat in Prince's diet is 100% to blame for his disappointing production. This really no longer is an argument anymore, but rather people throwing around unfounded assumptions and opinions. Forgive me for being fed up with it.
  9. Oh how I loathe this topic.
  10. Overall, pretty much everyone down here is opposed to the possible deal; ranging from fears of a name change to Busch Stadium to questions about whether Anheuser-Busch's prolific charitable contributions will continue to straight up tradition and city pride. I don't have any particular personal or emotional involvement in the issue, but I definitely understand where the opposition is coming from.
  11. I dunno, both links work correctly for me. But Brian should change it anyways, because the filter at my work allows Yuku but not ezboard and therefore blocks that link from going through.
  12. Reading through the IGT on NorthSideBaseBall is pretty entertaining.
  13. Over/under on homeruns for this game is 76. What's your pick?
  14. People who knock and pound on the windows of animal enclosures in zoos really need to be taken out back and shot.
  15. Been waiting patiently for four years for this thing to come around again, and hopefully the Czechs improve upon their performance last time around. Baroš won't come anywhere near his previous performance and it'll certainly be more difficult without Nedv?d, Poborský, and Rosický, but ?ech and Koller are fairly dominating in their own right. I'm excited. And for what it's worth, this event deserves an 'official' thread.
  16. Not to mention he would be asking me for Bush's pitching line at the end of each inning.
  17. Continue to taunt the membership of this site and you won't be here long.
  18. Hey, Ned put Kendall in the 8th spot yesterday and we won. That must be the secret to unlocking this team's full potential! Ned Yost for manager of the year! On a more lucid note, I predict that Branyan will finally put the three in 3TO tonight.
  19. Does it explicitly mention the ocean? Maybe it's supposed to be Atlantic City cuisine.
  20. Of the ten players that led in strikeouts last year, there was one above 1.000 in OPS, three in the .900 range, three in the .800 range, two in the .700 range, and one in the .600s (way to go, Brandon Inge). The previous year, there was one above 1.000, three in the .900 range, four in the .800 range, and two in the .700 range. Strikeouts may be frustrating as hell to watch, but they're hardly indicative of a player's total offensive output and contribution.
