  1. I'll jump over there and start posting, TheCrew. I find that watching prospects just adds another level of enjoyment to my collection, my watching of baseball, and my fantasy baseball play. Ya, I might be waiting a while for Taveras, but since we can carry 5 inactive players without it counting towards our max roster size, he's worth holding on to. It only counts towards our maximum roster moves for the season (60), so there's really no penalty. I saw he twisted his ankle, so he'll get some rest for a while. I wouldn't be surprised to see him up sometime after the All Star break. I just started getting in the first of my 2013 Bowman Chromes. Taijuan Walker came in, Oswaldo Arcia will be in tomorrow. I picked up Jose Fernandez for my roster last night. He should be a nice depth move. Right now, I'm running this rotation: Matt Moore Shelby Miller Madison Bumgarner Matt Cain Matt Harvey Chris Sale Hyun-Jin Ryu Jose Fernandez Derek Holland
  2. Picking up youngsters on my fantasy team is just a perk. I got Trout and Matt Moore last year, and this year I've picked up Shelby Miller, Matt Harvey, Starling Marte, Segura and Oscar Taveras is sitting on my inactive list for when he comes up.
  3. I'm a big time prospect watcher. I started collecting baseball cards again a little under 3 years ago, and 95% of what I've purchased have been Bowman Chrome prospect autos. I subscribe to Baseball America, and follow Baseball Prospect Nation (as well as Jonathan Mayo's Top 100 prospect list) religiously. I also hop around a lot on the Roku/MLB.tv premium, and watch spring training games/non Brewer games. I post on sportscardforum.com as lambeausouth, and net54baseball.com also as 'the stache. I'm about to get my vintage collection in high gear, too. Here's a thread on SCF with the prospect autos I've collected since coming back. I haven't really checked out the draft board here yet. I should, and will, do that.
  4. We have Aoki, Gomez and Segura 1-3. Have we ever had that kind of speed atop a lineup before? Aoki RF Gomez CF Segura SS Braun LF Ramirez 3B Hart 1B Lucroy C Weeks 2B Gallardo or Peralta P How many runs could that lineup score? LOL
  5. Segura won't keep this pace up, but he's on a pace for 225 hits, 14 triples, 27 home runs, and 59 stolen bases. I picked Mike Trout up a week into the season last year, and I picked up Segura two days after the draft. My scouting for baseball prospects has really paid off. I got Matt Harvey and Shelby Moore the same way.
  6. I almost had a heart attack when Braun was in the on deck circle. RRR is going to give me a heart attack.
  7. Ok bullpen, lock down the win here. What happened to A Ram? Bianchi is in now.
  8. Wow, Estrada has certainly bounced back tonight, too!
  9. Jean Jean the human highlight machine. He might be the most exciting player in baseball right now. Aaron and Matthews Yount and Molitor Braun and Segura? Has a nice ring to it
  10. So long as Big Wily's velocity is where it should be, I'm not at all concerned. Some pitchers take a while to adjust to the bigs. I posted this a few days ago in the game thread:
  11. Don't you mean Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder, Yovani Gallardo and Zack Greinke took them to the NLCS? RRR had very little with our getting there, but his dumb decision had quite a lot to do with our not getting by the Cardinals. Starting Mark Kotsay in right field in game 4 over Corey Hart was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen a manager do.
  12. Well, our pitching aside...we have the best right handed hitter in the National League (best in baseball behind Miguel Cabrera), and he's signed long term. Then, we have two of the most exciting players in the game in Carlos Gomez and Jean Segura. Those three guys will keep me interested no matter how bad our pitching is.
  13. Seriously, who in their right mind would trade for Rickie right now? Since the start of the 2012 season, Rickie is hitting .221 with a .701 OPS. He's struck out 210 times in his last 711 at bats. He's not hitting for power (at least right now), and his defense is pretty poor right now. I really like the man, but nobody is going to take on $10 million in salary for that kind of production.
  14. How was Peralta's velocity today? I'm wondering why his K rate is so low.
  15. Shelby Miller is averaging 10.1 K/9 IP Wily coming into the day was averaging 4.6 K/9 IP.
  16. It just kills me seeing Rickie struggling. I really, really like him. When he was playing like crap last year, he never made excuses. The ankle was obviously bothering him still, but he showed up for work every day, and eventually he looked like the Rickie Weeks we're used to in the second half. He fought through it. This year, he's just struggling. But I have not seen him throw his bat, or pout. Again, he goes out there every day. But he doesn't have to worry about playing time because there's nobody in the dugout who poses as a threat to his playing time. I'm not saying he's coasting, but having another guy that could be starting at second might jar him out of his slump. It certainly can't hurt.
  17. I think Luc will be a .280 + hitter, 10-15 HR a season guy. He will rebound.
  18. Yes, he would have. Damn, I wish Sheets had come out a few years later. Benny has long been one of my favorite Brewers. Ennder, I agree. We pushed him too hard.
  19. Ya, it really did, especially after looking at his baseball reference page, which showed the Cardinals drafted him. I had to go through a season by season draft for the Brewers, sorting for career wins, until I saw Morris's name again.
  20. I don't care if Scooter Gennett is only a singles hitter. Even if Scooter only hits .260, and gets nothing but singles and doubles, that's better than a guy hitting .180 striking out 200 times. Rickie isn't hitting anything at all right now, and his defense is deplorable. Scooter might not be the second coming of Rogers Hornsby, but we don't need him to be. I want a decent second baseman, somebody that can get on base and play solid if not spectacular defense. A lot of people have been saying that Rickie's not the problem, even if he's not hitting. I disagree. He's a defensive liability, and our defense is part of (albeit a small part) of why our pitching is so bad. Scooter and Jean Segura are likely the future of this franchise up the middle. I don't think he has anything more to prove in the minors. He's hit everywhere he's gone, and he's got strong fundamentals (something it seems Rickie no longer has). All I know is I'm tired of seeing Rickie whiff on sliders two inches above the ground.
  21. They are gone, as they are no longer in the Milwaukee Brewer organization. Nothing beyond that fact was implied.
  22. Right, he was drafted, never signed, then drafted again three years later by the Cards. If Peralta ends up winning 20, the streak will still continue, as he wasn't drafted, either.
