  1. Was it Damian Miller who wasn’t a member either and wasn’t in Video Games? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. No doubt. Regardless of this deal being team friendly or not, signing this deal made Acuna and his family financially stable and if he blows his knee out tomorrow, it made him set for life, today. He'll now pocket $100 million regardless of injury or regression. I think if you put me in Acuna's situation and told me I can get a $100 million dollar contract now or play for $560,000 a year and then deal with Arbitration and then re-evaluate in the future to maybe get $300 million, I'd sign now and hope to make up the difference in my age 31 Free Agency.
  3. That was my point in selecting a season like 1982. The Brewers ended the year 4th in the AL in attendance at over 24,000 a game but drew less than 10,000 until the 2nd week in May. A good team that was good the previous year, baseball is just a tough draw in the cold.
  4. Its not really a comparison of fanbases at all. I don't think the fanbase ever really sucked, there just wasn't much to hope for during the Selig-Prieb years of the 2000s. It's more of a note that baseball is a tough draw without a roof, in cold weather. Even during our successful years at County Stadium, we had those evenings..
  5. You can’t compare that to the Reds. The fanbase is totally different than it was back in the 2000era. Since being relevant again we bottomed out at worst 2.35mil in 2016. That team in 2000 drew like 1.50mil. Today’s fanbase would not have 7k show up. Meh.. 1992 Milwaukee Brewers. Opening Day Attendance 52,470 Next Night Attendance 8,385 1982 Milwaukee Brewers Second Home Series Attendance (Wed and Thu) 5,298 6,199 It happened.
  6. I’m 32 and really started my rabid fandom in 94. I don’t really care if this is the best team, or Top 5. My excitement lies in the fact of how the rebuild and playoffs were achieved. There was no gutting the Minors to land a piece and there is no essential piece that is probably going to walk at seasons’ end. I’m drinking the Stearns Kool Aid.
  7. I look at our friends down I94 who waited 108 years for a World Series Title. While I want to see a Title for the franchise, I would rather see competitive baseball for extended periods of time rather then a “go for it now” followed by a firesale and no plan to rebuild.
  8. I don't think the Brewers will actively shop Villar. A monster haul would get him moved, yes, but his versatility, age and improvement make him a core piece for the Brewers to build around. I never buy into that garbage that your first and third baseman have to be certain types of hitters. Sure Villar won't hit the home runs but I don't know... The 39 steals and 37% OBP of Villar or the 30 HRs and 29% OBP of Franzier? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I think how good the Cubs are, or are going to be, is irrelevant to how the Brewers should do business. I'm seeing 5-6 year projections of the Brewers being dormant and that's an extremely shortsighted view. The problem with the Brewers two playoff runs was that to acquire Sabathia and Greinke we sold off the farm without the ability to restock. If Stearns shows the ability to stock our system now through trades and draft well, we'll have the balance of prospects to bring to the Major League roster AND to use to acquire MLB ready talent when the time comes. Let the man lay his foundation before we assume that we're headed for another decade of futility.
  10. Ladies could at least humor us.. Do they know how many things come out of their mouths that make us want to use those words? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Norris in Miller Park wouldn't be horrible. He has pop in his bat for playing at O.Co and Petco. He's having a down year with his average but if the Padres want a minimal return, sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I get it. People want young arms. We have over a day until the deadline and we have a lot of potential pieces we can move yet to get it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The Brewers actually weren't that bad with these uniforms. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
