now they just seem like another watered down classic rock hits station. Yeah like the other 68 classic rock stations in Milwaukee.

Peter Gammons is also very good. He isn't a hall of famer for nothing.

The Gabe Gross vs. Anybody debate will never end. That is the way I see it. Honestly I don't care all that much because come April 29th Mike Cameron will play in CF any way you slice it.
  4. BrewCrewForever
    That is freaking amazing!

Baseball Tonight is the one for me.......unless Berman's on, in which case I find an excuse to rearrange my sock drawer or alphabetize some DVDs. How the hell that man still has a job is beyond me. Yeah I am one of the biggest anti-Berman peole you will find. I don't know why he has been in for Ravech on Sunday nights lately. And Scott van Pelt is a funny, funny man. I will say that I do enjoy the work he and John Buchigros (sp?) do together when they host.

Maybe it's not Jeff Weaver but Jered Weaver.

I couldn't agree more. Last season when it was important for the Cubs to lose down the stretch I would listen to their games on WGN Radio and my God, he is the worst color commentator I have ever heard in ANY sport. Just awful, added nothing to the broadcast. And he works with Pat Hughes one of the best play-by-play baseball guys I have ever heard.

I still watch SC once in awhile but all their crap just gets annoying to me. I LOVE Baseball Tonight but sometimes I am in bed before it is on. Final Score is only a half hour but pretty good.

Yeah I know that (Im getting a degree in broadcasting). But a rock FM station in this day and age having a chance to be the flagship for a MLB team seems crazy to me. I could see if it was a Sports Talk FM station which are around, but not a classic rock FM station. Just seems odd.

Which show do you watch for your sports highlights? For me it's the Final Score. None of that other garbage ESPN throws on SC. I do watch Baseball Tonight though.

Did anyone else know that 97.3 The Brew in Milwaukee was bidding for it? I mean that shocks me that an FM rock station was even in the running.
  12. BrewCrewForever
That was funny when Edwards said "Kaplan".
  13. BrewCrewForever
Man I had almost forgot about that double header meltdown. Damn, that was awful.
  14. BrewCrewForever
Fair enough. When I go our group doesn't make a big deal about it. It's just a fun little thing to play and watch for between innings when no action is going on.

    Link That from Wikipedia.

One thing about those rules is we play if the ump throws it toward the mound and it stays that counts as well. If the ball stays on the mound no matter how it gets there and the pitcher picks it up its good. If it is on the mound and a player kicks it off it does not count.

Today is Jackie Robinson day correct? So Prince will be wearing #42.

    Link Check that And That.
  19. BrewCrewForever
One thing that scars me about Weaver is he has not had an ERA under 5 since 2005.
  20. BrewCrewForever
Yeah I noticed that. I have seen players actually kick the ball off the mound running toward the dugout screwing with the moundballers.
  21. BrewCrewForever
It's just a conspiracy theory I have already heard being discussed and I saying you never know. (pared back nested quote --1992)
  22. BrewCrewForever
I do agree with some people that said it was a sweeting deal to Boras to sign his client who is out of a job.
  23. BrewCrewForever
Mods not sure if this should go in off-topic or not. Anyone else on the board ever play this great game within a game at the ballpark? I first heard of it last season and now play it just about every time I got to a game with a group of at least 4 or more.

Interesting non-Cirillo related item in this onmilwaukee.com article. Its says WTMJ beat out WSSP, WRRD and 97.3 The Brew? For the flagship rights? An FM channel was in the running? I did not know that.
