  1. I think the 3 hole best suits Braun, but with his hitting ability and speed he could hit anywhere in any lineup.
  2. Braun now 9 for the month, 16 for the season. I would say damn good chance he throws up 30 in his rookie year. That is awesome. And he missed almost two whole months. I think hes a 45 to 50 HR guy in a full season. His talent is scary.
  3. I have loved Jenks since day one. He never turned into a superstar. But he has been a solid player his entire career. Made an all-star team and had some other all-star type seasons. Hes always had great defense and if it were not for a couple of injuries would have even better career numbers. He is older now and will never get you 30+ HR's again but he is still a very solid platoon player. I still think this season he will get at least 20 or 25 HR's. I will always look at Jenks like I look at Cirillo. Good players who I loved watching when we had some just horrific teams playing here. As for next year, whatever happens, well it happens. If Jenks is elsewhere I will cheer for him there.
  4. Looks nice, JumpinMacFlash. But we're ready for your return anytime, wOOgiE. Totally agree on both comments. Come on boys get those bats going. Very glad to see Yo pitching today after that crap fest that was last nights game.
  5. So Yost says he has tightness in his legs, Schroeder says he broke his bat and that is why he didn't hustle. Those are some horriable excuses. The bottomline is Estrada is already slow, but he didnt even attempt to run that ball out. I have finally come to the conclusion the guy is overated as a offensive catcher. Like someone said yesterday in the vent thread I believe. He looks nice in a box score, but really he stinks. No hustle and horriable defense. How many routine pop ups has he dropped this year? Too many. I hope Miller starts today for sure.
  6. I hope that we get someone in a trade or try someone else from Nashville. Ive seen more then I needed to see of Balfour. I still dream of a trade for Damaso Marte.
  7. Well at least we get to look forward to seeing Gallardo start tomorrow.
  8. In his last 95 plate appearances he had a .967 OPS. Thanks for that stat Brian, I cant wait for Hall to be back.
  9. Why are people getting on Yost so much after tonight's game? I dunno, Im not mad. Im much more pissed at the offense doing nothing besides Bran and Fielder, as well as the crap that is Balfour and Estrada.
  10. Why are people so amped up about Bill Hall coming back? The guy wasn't hitting all that well before he got hurt...yeah, he was starting to come on, but overall he has been disappointing this season. Because he was coming around and hes one of our better offensive players and right now were not scoring a whole lot of runs. Also this keeps us from playing Graffy in LF and having Mench against RHP and Jenks from LHP.
  11. Ripping Jenkins for getting HBP is reminiscent of Yankees fans hating on Boggs for drawing walks when he's supposed to be an "RBI guy". That was a great job of getting on base and extending the inning. but that being said, Estrada really isn't worth what his stats show. He refuses to take pitches, he's slower than Eddie Perez, he's awful on defense, and he can't throw out a base stealer to save a life. His .285 batting average is ridiculously hollow, and he hits for only marginal power. You're preaching to the choir, man. This was pretty much my mantra the entire offseason. I'm a "stats" guy, but Estrada is a guy that only looks good in a boxscore. When you watch him play, you realize he isn't very good. I love this post bret, my thoughts to a T.
  12. Please dont tease like that. I just hope when the real thread is started, it also says Hall activated from DL.
  13. It's easy to look at things with hindsight, and say "I told you so", and I'm still not displeased with the DD for Estrada and Vargas trade...... but that being said, Estrada really isn't worth what his stats show. He refuses to take pitches, he's slower than Eddie Perez, he's awful on defense, and he can't throw out a base stealer to save a life. His .285 batting average is ridiculously hollow, and he hits for only marginal power. A catcher who puts up a .675 OPS with average defense would be an upgrade over this guy. I agree, Estrada is not the offense force at catcher we thought we were getting in that trade. He is okay, but is he really that much better then an old Damian Miller? I dunno. Edit: Im not saying Estrada is useless or to play Miller everyday. Im just saying he isnt some great offensive catcher. Also no matter what he should sit tomorrow for that poor effort running out that grounder.
  14. Dave Nilsson was pretty good. Doah! Forgot about Nelly, he was actually pretty good. Lloyd was okay to. But Balfour and Durro were pretty much AAAA guys.
  15. I'm sorry but if someone doesn't get in Johnny Estradas face and tell him what kind of race he is in then I don't know what to do. I sure hope the whole team saw how bad he dogged that, cause someone needs to get in his face. Balfour better be bye, bye tonight.
  16. Feel bad for Cappy, his second straight very good start.
  17. Answer: 2 Question: The number of players that have played on the Brewers from Australia that have no business in the major leagues. (Balfour and Durrington)
  18. I hope tomorrow there is a transaction thread that reads: Hall activated from DL, Balfour optioned to AAA Nashville.
  19. I hate Grant Balfour and Johnny Estrada.
  20. Well Balfour can get his ticket for Nashville right away.
  21. Doah! Balfour! I guess if we get out of this, Braun will have to hit a HR for us to get a freaking run and win.
  22. You know a grilled cheese sandwhich does sound rather tasty right now.
  23. give him credit for playing even harder after getting benched.) Agree. Weeks still plays his butt off even though he has had a very rough year. Unlike people on our team that play Catcher and wear #33.
  24. With Hardy batting 2nd, and Estrada 5th, "managing a heck of a game" was off the table before the game even started. Yeah Im not that down with Hardy batting 2 anymore and I never liked Estrada batting 5. Should be all sorted out when Hall comes back this week.
  25. I know Estrada is slow, and its one thing if he really hustled down the line and they still got him, but that was no effort whatsoever. That was a complete lolly gag.
